She moved from town to town with her mother—a con and murderer—evading police, leaving behind a bloody trail of death and terror.

Sandy DeLuca continues to publish some of the most haunting dark fiction in the business. Her latest book “Reign of Blood” just may be her best work to date.

“Reign Of Blood” is disturbing, unsettling, blood-soaked and depraved, yet brilliantly crafted. A tale of Darcy, a young woman who is obsessed with past killers lives and the women that were at their side when they did their heinous crimes.

The story starts off quickly and violently, never letting up, the story becoming more decadent the furt...more

Sandy DeLuca continues to quietly produce some of the best dark fiction in the genre, and REIGN OF BLOOD may be some of her best work to date.

At its heart, REIGN OF BLOOD is a love story, which many traditional "horror" stories are, whether the masses choose to acknowledge that or not. It is an imaginative, explicit, yet oddly compassionate look into the life of Darcy, one-half of a serial-killer couple that revels in torture and murder. In one moment, you'll be begging for Darcy to leave behind...more

Another fine effort by this underrated but highly talented author, Sandy Deluca. Deluca again utilizes a very fluid prose style that conveys a bizarre sense of disunion between past and present, dream and reality.

I initially thought that our key protagonist (Darcy) simply attached herself to a real nasty thug and spent most of the story evaluating her regret and sorrow for the terrible decisions that she had made along the way... which is a fairly common theme in Deluca's stories.

This one was a...more

This is yet another story by Sandy Deluca that I just loved.

A young woman named Darcy who has an obsession with reading about serial killer couples is the star of this show. Darcy's younger sister, Jane, disappears and Darcy suspects her mother of murdering her. She suspects this because Jane (Jane's ghost?) tells her it is so. What follows is the story of Darcy, rebelling against her mom and everything she knows , by taking off with her boyfriend Bobby.

The rest of the story flies by while the...more

The story is centred around Darcy and her memories and subsequent return to a place called Barlow Falls.
I really enjoyed this novella, it challenged my perception of the story as it progressed. (view spoiler)[The last couple of chapters point to Darcy's real involvement in the atrocities that unfold in the story which make for unsettling reading. (hide spoiler)] This is my first Sandy Deluca book and I look forward to seeking out more of her work.

This is a dark creepy tale if I ever read one. I could'nt help but be draw to Darcy who has a bizzare view of what love is. This gripping short story is not for the faint hearted.

Sandy has a great imagination and a poetic soul. This was a pretty dark story but expertly handled. The little twist near the end is nice, too. Go check it out already!
