This book reads like a soap opera. I love it. The story is about Trey Turner a mega-country superstar and his ex-wife Sierra. All the other Nashville players will likely be featured in upcoming books. Shameless is the first book in the Nashville Nights series.

Here are some things you need to know:

1. Trey and Sierra are divorced but they still love each other and have the hots for each other.
2. Every time you think things are going their way, something bad will happen to pull them apart.
3. Can yo
The life of a musician can be an exciting one at times, but the pressures resulting from fame can sometimes be overwhelming too. Add in a devastating personal loss and life can spin out of control. For country star Trey Turner the loss of his baby daughter is just the beginning of a descent into guilt and depression from which only the return of the only woman he'll ever love can soothe. For Sierra Brooks, returning to the chaotic life she shared with Trey where she felt out of place and unimpor ...more

I love when I get a book to review for a blog tour and I absolutely fall in love with it. Shameless is one of those books. It has characters wonderfully flawed characters that have to fight to get back what they lost, but when they get it right it absolutely fantastic.

Trey Turner is this hottest thing in country music. He portrays himself as a fun loving guy but in reality he's a miserable drunk thinking of ways to end the painful reminders of losing the woman he loves and the child they both lo

I couldn't wait to get this book over with. I mean there were some good moments but really I was bored through most of it.

Trey and Sierra work on their relationship after their divorce. Everything works out by the end but not before I had to read through some really bad dialogue. I felt as though my daughter was writing it not an Author. I developed some feelings for the characters but not enough to really attach I just wanted to get past this book and move on.
This was an emotional book. Trey Turner country music star marries the woman of his dream Sierra Brooks. This book starts out fives years ago and then moves forward. It starts out with Trey doing body shots off a waitress at a local bar. But this is pretty much the breaking point for Sierra and so she does what she thinks is right and lets him know its over she wants out, she wants a divorce. But its more than the body shots. Its all really sad and tragic what has lead them to this point.

Recommends it for: Country fans! And those believe in second chances
I absolutely ended up loving this book, even though the beginning was hard to read personally as I grew up with a stepdad who abused alcohol, so it was still a raw nerve to chafe against but when Trey quit booze just to have a better chance at having Sierra back again it became an easier read - and then it became great!

The plot is fantastic! Trey's desperation to get his ex-wife back, all the unspoken past between them, the secrets, the hurt and the love. Even with a setting as dark as this Sham

Shameless is the first book in author Cheryl Douglas's Nashville Nights series. Seeing as this is also the first book I have read by this author I did not have my hopes set too high. I don't like to have to high of expectations when venturing into new territory, I believe it's best to give new authors/books the benefit until I can get an idea of their writing style. I was surprisingly pleased with this one! The cover of the book wasn't a wow moment for me and I do believe that the cover of a boo ...more

My Review:
What an incredibly emotional book. Five years ago, Trey and Sierra's marriage fell apart. It was a year after the death of their newborn baby girl and Trey was running. Running away from the guilt and the grief. He did that by pouring everything he had into his music, touring, and drinking and that didn't leave anything for his wife Sierra who was also grieving, so she filed for divorce. After a couple of years Trey managed to pull himself out of his depression, but he never recovered

Author Cheryl Douglas tells the dramatic, heart breaking story of country music superstar Trey Turner in this gripping romance.

Shameless begins with a spicy scene where Trey is partying with a pack of groupies, when his wife Sierra walks in on him for the last time. The story then jumps into the future, where Sierra has left Trey and he’s lost all hope and turned to substance abuse and sleeping around.

The author portrays Trey as a man who’s top dog in the country music world, yet his taste for

I'll try to keep my review short, but I have to say, I didn't like this book much. It started off good, but went downhill for me around the halfway mark, where I ended up skimming to the end.
Sierra allowed everyone to manipulate her into getting back with Trey, maybe because she didn't have the balls to go after what she wanted herself. The part that made me start skimming to the end was

Trey Turner has topped the country charts many times, but his personal life has hit bottom. After his wife, the love of his life, left him five years ago he can’t seem to write a decent song, can’t put the bottle down, and has no will to carry on without her.
Sierra Brooks has finally put her life back together after divorcing the man that rocked her world and then broke her heart after losing their child. She needed him and he wasn’t there, he escaped into his new found fame leaving her to deal

So I was looking for some to books on Amazon to read and came across Shameless. And it was free so I thought "What the heck I'll give it a try." And now I'm addicted to the Nashville Nights & Nashville Nights Next Generation series. I can not get enough of these story's.

From the beginning of Shameless I was drawn into the story. And into Trey and Sierra's characters. There were so many emotions running through me throughout the entire story. There were times I wanted to yell and scream at b

It seems to me that this book was really, really similar to Line of scrimmage, that I personally prefer much more.
I really don't like "Shameless": the plot is non existent and I really hate the hero and the heroine. He is a douche, making mistakes one after another and she is a doormat thinking that all his mistakes are hers! There is no plot, all the story is about complain and repeating the same things!! She was always alone, he was an alcoholic and always on a tour etc etc... I think she repe

I can be really picky about contemporary romances some times and I just couldn't gel with the story or the characters in this.

Might actually read it based on this review:
This was a fun and fast-paced romance to read. While I enjoyed some elements of this novel I could have done without others. Namely, how much of a jerk Trey was throughout the entire book. Also, how in the heck did everything come to be Sierra's fault? I don't buy into it. I think Trey could have stepped up a bit more. However, I will agree with most reviews for this book that it was an emotional ride. There were parts when I laughed out loud and even once cried. I recommend this book to romance ...more
I read Strike Out and really liked it so I anticipated a good story here but was disappointed on several levels. The author's writing style is fine. She can clearly put out a good book but for me, there were distasteful elements to the story itself. First, I didn't like Trey. He was an ass. The scene in the private room at the hotel, he was awful, mostly in what he said but also what he did. Further into the story, it's twisted to be her fault. Seriously? And of course the fact that she's so wea ...more

Being in Nashville last week was awesome and that got me wanting to read this book as I was so excited after spending time in this part of the States. It was like I was at home as I love my country music and here I was COUNTRY CENTRAL. Reading this book and having experienced Nashville just made the book more real and enjoyable. In Shameless we meet husband and wife Sierra and Trey. At the beginning of the novel , we read as they are having marriage problems and Sierra has had enough of being b ...more

Very quick enjoyable read about a country music star (Trey Turner) and his ex-wife (Sierra). They faced a tragedy several years ago when they lost their newborn baby. Unfortunately their happy marriage suffered, with Trey turning to alcohol and his music to survive. Sierra was left home alone trying to deal with the loss and they eventually divorced, after 10 years of marriage. Fast forward to the present, several years later. Trey asks Sierra to help him with his creative block and work on his ...more

Country music, romance, and even a little bit of mystery--this makes up this particular romance by Cheryl Douglas. I have to say that I loved the country music aspect, and I loved the fact that Trey and Sierra loved each other enough to make some real sacrifices for each other. It is a shame that they weren't open and honest with each other--they would have saved themselves a lot of heartache. This book reminds you that second chance love may not be such a bad thing.

We like to think the rich and famous have it all, in Shameless by Cheryl Douglas she reminds us that you may be a huge country music star but everyone has to deal with the issues of real life from accidents and death to divorce and drunkenness.

Mix one country singer who drinks too much with one wife suffering from the loss of their child and you get Shameless. This couple, still in love, are each wrapped up in their individual suffering and--like any good country song-- drift apart. But, the flame is still there and when they are thrown back together again the embers ignite. Is that enough to bring them back together again?

It was hard sometimes to like the characters, especially Trey. Even though he tells Sierra he was faithful to her

I just finished reading, Shameless by Cheryl Douglass.

I really enjoyed the book although I must admit that I had some trouble keeping a few of the secondary characters straight. I really liked the main character, Trey Turner. He made me visualize country singer Toby Keith, Mr. "Red Solo Cup" himself or Tim McGraw with his dark hair or Keith Urban. Hmm...

What I thought was a little funny was the fact that the main female character, Sierra Brooks, had been divorced from Trey for about five years a
I loved this book and will definitely be getting book 2! It had it all for me - it was well written, a decent length, had a great storyline that wasn't too predictable and 2 lead characters that I actually liked. Oh yes and it was a free download which is always a bonus!

The story starts in a bar 5 years ago when Sierra finds her husband Trey drunk and doing body shots on a waitress. Needless to say she was not impressed. She then informs him that their marriage is over. Of course there is far mo
This story was written well and it tied up nicely at the end.

On a personal level the characters weren't attractive, they didn't absorb the reader. It caused me to keep distance from the story. I ended up wishing it would end more quickly. It was also a little cheesy in some parts. I could have read this in an afternoon, but ended up putting it down for a couple days before finally finding time to finish it up. It wasn't bad.. it was just... lukewarm.
