I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream...more

How to anger a reader: make your protagonist a "selfless", whining, irritating "queen".

I enjoyed the first book in this series. I powered through the second and after an uncountable amount of eye rolls and sighing I am quitting on the third. How can one character manage to be EVERYONE'S ideal love, their soul mate, their queen? Puh-lease kill me (or Evie).

There is nothing more irritating than a stupid girl. A girl who refuses to listen to ANYONE, including her boyfriend who has at least a billi...more
Wow, where do I begin with this book? I am again blown away by the intensity of it, that I need a drink to recover. It is so rare in a series, that the books get better, but this one really is better. I thought that my attachment to the story, was because of the location in the first two books. I lived in Michigan for awhile, so the scenery felt good to me. That's not it though, because in this book, the locations are China and Ireland, with a little of Tahiti thrown in. I thought that the love...more

Just devoured the third in the Premonition series. Of course now I am tweeting the lovely Amy Bartol to get INCENDIARY: The Premonition Series; the next installment in this young adult series.

I am so in love with these characters. I of course love Genevieve as a young female heroine. She really embodies the qualities of a young woman trying to find her way in the world in which she has been thrust into...and honestly I have never read a "love triangle" if that is what you would REALLY call it, s...more
Doubt the stars are fire; Doubt the sun doth move; Doubt truth to be a liar; But never doubt I love... I love thee best, O most best. Believe it.

The third book in the Premonition series was a little different for me... Did I love some parts of it? Yes. Did I love all of it? No. I will get into my reasons soon, but overall still a solid 4 star read for me!

Gotta say! I couldn't wait for this book to get here! Loved it just as much as the first two, and though I missed the memo on there being a fourth book, I'm glad that I'm not saying goodbye to all the wonderful characters just yet. I truly haven't read a YA series like this one. Its full of jam-packed imagination and wicked creatures galore! Where does one get so many ideas and learn to mesh them together so well? Amy Bartol knows, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for the fourth ins...more

Three books into this series, and Amy Bartol still manages to completely enthrall, crush, and disturb me with her incomparably unique and fascinating world!! I don't know how she manages to come up with all of this, but I'm SO glad she decided to put it all into a story! I've been in love with these characters since the minute I met them, and I continue to be unable to pull myself away from their journey. It is going to be a very sad day for me when I have to say a final goodbye after her fourth...more

Every single page is an ode to Evie's beauty, wits, kind heart ... and every single page goes something like this:

X: I will protect you Evie.
Evie: No, I will protect you.
X: You are beautiful.
Evie: I will protect you.
X: I won't let anything happen to you, look there is the evil guy.
Evie: I will make a sacrifice, I'll go to the evil guy to protect you.
X: No, you are bautiful, I will protect you.
Evie: No you won't, I will protect you.
Evil guy: Come to me, I want you, you are beautiful.

With "X" bei...more

I don't know what i could possibly say about this book that i havn't already said. I have NEVER given 5 full stars without blinking to a full series before! i loved this book. L.O.V.E.D it!

The Author's style of writing
Genius, that is what Amy A. Bartol style is . The story line is evolving rabidly and smoothly. She is truly an ama...more
I had to stop at this book. This series for me, was a fun pastime book. This story is starting to become EXTREMELY REPETITIVE. I understand you're half Seraph, very territorial and what not, but IF I HAVE TO HEAR ANOTHER SOLILOQUY ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO PROTECT EVERYONE....I get it. STOP TELLING ME, I GOT YOU THE FIRST TWO BOOKS. No! Wait for it! She's in love with Reed, but then she loves Russel too. Honestly it pains me to see Russel go through that! Ugh. I only lasted until this book. I hoped...more
Brennus is my new favourite type of stalker. I mean his persistence is a admirable at best. This guy will never give up. Until his last breathe (hahahha) he will have Evie. With that being said and Brennus and all of his stalkerness aside, I really love the fellas. I mean I know they have to do this against their will, they kill people, they have weird accents, sometimes I am completely lost as to where they are going with stuff but still I have found a place in my heart for them. Granted that p...more
I rarely rate book with 1 star but I had no other choice this time. I didn't like storyline AT ALL. Main character irritated me AT MAXIMUM. And I found myself skimming through chapters quite often.

Author tried to do the impossible. In the first book she created absolutely dreamy guy and made every reader to fall for him. And than she created absolutely bad guy who tried to kill heroine even though he loved her in his totally sick way. And now she tries to turn this bad guy into the good one and...more

I love this series! A lot of the reviews state that these books keep getting better and that is very true.
Fast paced, can't put the book down action. Raw, intense, primal interactions between the angels is so damn hot!
The author also brilliantly eases you, book by book, into their world. By book #3, yes-- portals, demons with creature skins suits, magic, mermaids.... it is all acceptable now. It all makes total sense in their world.
Team Reed.

I know I've mentioned this before but I have to tell this again - this is the angel version of Twilight. There were so many similar situations between the two serieses. Evie (Bella) has two people she loves, Russell (Jacob), her soulmate, whom she would have been with if she hadn't met brooding supernat' Reed (Edward). Just like in the Twilight series, in the second installment of this series, Russell turns into a supernatural being too. There i...more

I loved it. I love how you never know what will happen next and even the dark turns these books take, are just as enticing. Truly love the Galcanagh clan. They make wonderful frenemies.
I'm really curious how Amy will conclude the love triangle between Reed/Evie/Russell. I feel like there will have to be a twist that will sever the soul mate bond some how, so all can end well. I'm sure I won't be disappointed, these books have fantastic twists and turns I never see coming. I've been a bit bored...more
like my friend said...i want to be blue (from blues clues) so we can enter the book >.
"The angel in me is raging, wanting to suffocate him, like he is doing to me. He is empty bliss. I will free myself from him and then I will kill him."

Once again, Amy has left me breathless. Her world building and character development are captivating, and once it's all said and done, I'm craving more. There are so many twists and turns in this book, hell in this series, and each one is a surprise. Just when you think all is well with our favorite characters, something happens to mess it all up....more
Oh boy am I sucker for this story-line. I so want to give up on this series based purely on the Genevieve, the completely and utterly predictable protagonist. Her weakness is that she cares too much?! Really? I can't stand her most of the time but Bartol makes her smart and something to be feared as well, which is why I'm so conflicted with this series! Ugh! I am also growing tired of ALL of the men that want's like ok damn, I already despise love triangles but this infinity love shit?...more
Dear Evie, my sweet angel....
I want to fling your ass of the balcony.
Can't you leave at least one guy alone? This "Everyone loves Evie" thing has been pretty annoying since the first book. Even enemies begin to love/respect/admire her and blah blah blah.
One thing I learned from writing books is that we should make readers sympathize with the protagonist. But that's definitely not the case here. I feel like kicking her around or something other than feeling bad for her. The love pairs shou...more

So the first book was okay, second book was better but the part without Reed sucked, and the third book was ultimately 20 times better then then the second. i gotta say even without Reed it wasnt bad even though i pretty much just read it so we could get back to him. But i loved it, this was one of my favorite love square(?) books even though its not much of a sqaure because it goes with out saying that Evie only loves Reed. God! i love Reed. Russels okay, if there was no Reed he would no doubt...more

Amy Bartol, you have taken over all rational thought with your new series. If there is such thing as reader's Stockholm Syndrome, then Amy was my captor and I had a serious case of it because this book hurt but I loved every minute of the bittersweet pain. An earthquake would have trouble making me put this book down.

It started off ‘averagely’, a bit like Intuition did IMO, but then ‘average’ for Amy Bartol is pretty stellar on the scale of YA book plots. Revie are finally together again and the...more

I actually had to give up on this series almost half way through this book. I tried my hardest to really really like this series but I just ended up wanting to hit Evie in the face. There are only so many times I can read about her wanting to protect everyone she loves blah blah blah and saying how she wants to be with Reed but then takes off and tries to get herself killed to sacrifice others. Yes she may be this super powerful angel but besides her releasing her powers with no control, I have...more
Well I think that at this point I may need a rehab .
Although I'm writing this on the fifth of January (2013) I read this book last summer and I have to recognise that it was excruciating waiting for 4 months till I had .
In this book I fell in love with the fellas (so mean and yet so,so... I don't know how to explain it but they have reached me ).
It is not that I prefer Bren over Reed for Evie, at all. I just think that Reed is perfect for Evie and will al...more

Okay, I'll stop yelling now..
It was thrilling and poetic, I couldn't put it down. Amy Bartol's world is simply captivating with all kinds of creatures to behold. I love that she takes fairytales and twists them into things that really work. She really did her research on certain things within the story, making me love it that much more!
Shut your gob!!! OMG this book was full of action! I just loved the characters. Even the Gancanagh, I thought my eyes were going to bleed trying to read the different accent level, LOL but I was laughing too. I adore Russel tough country attitude. And who doesn't want "My Angel" Reed.

This series by far, is one of my top 5. I loved everything about the series, right down to eating the peanut LOL. If you want a book that will push you to your limits and leave you with a satisfied smile on your fac...more
Indebted knocked my ever-loving socks off. I’m already biased about the series, but this book just confirmed my love…I feel like I should renew my vows.
You know how long I have waited for this book? ….78 days. …that’s equals a small eternity.
COMPLETELY worth the wait though… I think the wait was magnified by a zillion times since Amy had been awesome enough to tell me that she was sending me a freaking autographed copy of her book! …you read that right. My poor mailman thought he had a fan group...more

Indebted (The Premonition, #3)That statement alone sums it up pretty good, but I'll do my best to try explaining HOW GOOD this book was. I couldn't believe a story could get any better, but Amy Bartol knows how to do that. It is the very definition of an emotional roller coaster.
