Indebted (The Premonition #3)
by
Amy A. Bartol (Goodreads Author)
I hang my head in sorrow for just a moment when I know I am truly alone. I feel like I’m going to my execution, just as he had said. Then I move forward again. I hop a fence of fieldstone and cross a field dotted with Queen Anne’s lace. Goose bumps rise on my arms as I pass the cluster of windmills that I have seen in a dream. The scent is sweet in the field though, not th...more

Wow, where do I begin with this book? I am again blown away by the intensity of it, that I need a drink to recover. It is so rare in a series, that the books get better, but this one really is better. I thought that my attachment to the story, was because of the location in the first two books. I lived in Michigan for awhile, so the scenery felt good to me. That's not it though, because in this book, the locations are China and Ireland, with a little of Tahiti thrown in. I thought that the love...more
I loved it. I love how you never know what will happen next and even the dark turns these books take, are just as enticing. Truly love the Galcanagh clan. They make wonderful frenemies.
I'm really curious how Amy will conclude the love triangle between Reed/Evie/Russell. I feel like there will have to be a twist that will sever the soul mate bond some how, so all can end well. I'm sure I won't be disappointed, these books have fantastic twists and turns I never see coming. I've been a bit bored...more

Just devoured the third in the Premonition series. Of course now I am tweeting the lovely Amy Bartol to get INCENDIARY: The Premonition Series; the next installment in this young adult series.
I am so in love with these characters. I of course love Genevieve as a young female heroine. She really embodies the qualities of a young woman trying to find her way in the world in which she has been thrust into...and honestly I have never read a "love triangle" if that is what you would REALLY call it, s...more

3.5 stars...
The story is getting really good! Lots of new "types" of characters being introduced and I'm totally getting swept up into it. I especially like the very blurry line between good & evil among the supernatural beings. Alliances and betrayals make for a great story!
What makes me frustrated about this book is Evie! I KNOW! I want to love her. In fact I've loved her in the past. But, she gets so annoying at times! Her need to always try and protect the ones she loves makes her act ir...more
Gotta say! I couldn't wait for this book to get here! Loved it just as much as the first two, and though I missed the memo on there being a fourth book, I'm glad that I'm not saying goodbye to all the wonderful characters just yet. I truly haven't read a YA series like this one. Its full of jam-packed imagination and wicked creatures galore! Where does one get so many ideas and learn to mesh them together so well? Amy Bartol knows, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for the fourth ins...more
Indebted knocked my ever-loving socks off. I’m already biased about the series, but this book just confirmed my love…I feel like I should renew my vows.
You know how long I have waited for this book? ….78 days. …that’s equals a small eternity.
COMPLETELY worth the wait though… I think the wait was magnified by a zillion times since Amy had been awesome enough to tell me that she was sending me a freaking autographed copy of her book! …you read that right. My poor mailman thought he had a fan group...more

I had to stop at this book. This series for me, was a fun pastime book. This story is starting to become EXTREMELY REPETITIVE. I understand you're half Seraph, very territorial and what not, but IF I HAVE TO HEAR ANOTHER SOLILOQUY ABOUT HOW YOU WANT TO PROTECT EVERYONE....I get it. STOP TELLING ME, I GOT YOU THE FIRST TWO BOOKS. No! Wait for it! She's in love with Reed, but then she loves Russel too. Honestly it pains me to see Russel go through that! Ugh. I only lasted until this book. I hoped...more
Shut your gob!!! OMG this book was full of action! I just loved the characters. Even the Gancanagh, I thought my eyes were going to bleed trying to read the different accent level, LOL but I was laughing too. I adore Russel tough country attitude. And who doesn't want "My Angel" Reed.
This series by far, is one of my top 5. I loved everything about the series, right down to eating the peanut LOL. If you want a book that will push you to your limits and leave you with a satisfied smile on your fac...more

This series has been a bit split down the middle. Having read 3 books so far, I have enjoyed the storyline, but some things are leaving me very frustrated. In particular, Evie. Her reckless behaviour, the thoughtless jumping from one bad situation to the next, lying to people and then justifying it all on her need to protect the people she loves really pisses me off at times. How bout just doing what is sensible for once?

Soooo much better than the previous book! So glad the author was able to turn things around. This book still had several of the things that bothered me about the second one. On the grammatical front, there were several typos, misspelled words and homophones. In terms of character development, I don't understand how if Evie and Reed have a once-in-a-lifetime love, she can still have similar feelings for other men. I find it totally annoying how every guy she meets thinks she hung the moon. I woul...more
Well I think that at this point I may need a rehab .
Although I'm writing this on the fifth of January (2013) I read this book last summer and I have to recognise that it was excruciating waiting for 4 months till I had http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/13... .
In this book I fell in love with the fellas (so mean and yet so,so... I don't know how to explain it but they have reached me ).

Amy Bartol, you have taken over all rational thought with your new series. If there is such thing as reader's Stockholm Syndrome, then Amy was my captor and I had a serious case of it because this book hurt but I loved every minute of the bittersweet pain. An earthquake would have trouble making me put this book down.
It started off ‘averagely’, a bit like Intuition did IMO, but then ‘average’ for Amy Bartol is pretty stellar on the scale of YA book plots. Revie are finally together again and the...more
I am not sure how Amy Bartol does it but with every book in this series I get more and more sucked in. The way she can make you identify and "See" the characters is amazing. She continues to add characters, especially bad guys. What is amazing is how she can make the bad guys so likable.
After the second book I was so thrilled Evie and Reed were finally really together and their love continues to be their life line through this book. That love is always there even when Evie is confused about her...more

How to anger a reader: make your protagonist a "selfless", whining, irritating "queen".
I enjoyed the first book in this series. I powered through the second and after an uncountable amount of eye rolls and sighing I am quitting on the third. How can one character manage to be EVERYONE'S ideal love, their soul mate, their queen? Puh-lease kill me (or Evie).
There is nothing more irritating than a stupid girl. A girl who refuses to listen to ANYONE, including her boyfriend who has at least a billi...more

I know I've mentioned this before but I have to tell this again - this is the angel version of Twilight. There were so many similar situations between the two serieses. Evie (Bella) has two people she loves, Russell (Jacob), her soulmate, whom she would have been with if she hadn't met brooding supernat' Reed (Edward). Just like in the Twilight series, in the second installment of this series, Russell turns into a supernatural being too. There i...more
Brennus is my new favourite type of stalker. I mean his persistence is a admirable at best. This guy will never give up. Until his last breathe (hahahha) he will have Evie. With that being said and Brennus and all of his stalkerness aside, I really love the fellas. I mean I know they have to do this against their will, they kill people, they have weird accents, sometimes I am completely lost as to where they are going with stuff but still I have found a place in my heart for them. Granted that p...more
OOOOOOOOOH THIS IS SO DAMN GOOD.
I WAS GASPING FOR BREATH AT THE END. IT WAS LIKE I HADNT TAKEN A BREATH SINCE I FIRST STARTEd READING IT I WAS SUCKED IN FROM THE FIRST PARAGRAPH WHO WOULDN'T BE?
"He can’t hide from me. Not that he is ever trying to, but still, it’s impossible. I know where he is at all times. I’m attuned to his voice, his scent…the beat of his heart. It’s my favorite pastime these days—stalking Reed. It’s a game that I play without knowing that I’m playing it half the time. I h...more

I really enjoyed this novel, a whole lot more than the first two in the series. It was captivating and intriguing, the plot line intertwined nicely, and it was a good change to get away from the constant moral and controlling attitude of Reed, Zee and even Russell, Buns and Brownie for awhile. Although the bad guys turned out to be not so bad anyway the way Bartol wrote the novel. I liked the introduction of the Ifrit and the detailed description of the other supernatural beings. Bartol is reall...more
Might contain one small spoiler, but it shouldn't do much damage.
Alright I love the series. Maybe this is simply because of the angel theme (and Reed)....I have been on that theme for a while now. That being said I have some things I particularly enjoyed and somethings that irritated the crap out of me. First of all I am from the south and no one, and I mean no one talks the way she makes Russel sound. I mean did she even have to go that far to begin with? The occasional y'all would have been mo...more
So the first book was okay, second book was better but the part without Reed sucked, and the third book was ultimately 20 times better then then the second. i gotta say even without Reed it wasnt bad even though i pretty much just read it so we could get back to him. But i loved it, this was one of my favorite love square(?) books even though its not much of a sqaure because it goes with out saying that Evie only loves Reed. God! i love Reed. Russels okay, if there was no Reed he would no doubt...more
This was a fantastic book 3! Evie is torn on how to save Russell and Brownie. She is upset with Reed for keeping her in the dark. He is all bossy and criptic in their plan to save them. Evie is still evolving and she discovers she can clone herself. She sends a clone to Russell and he returns his clone to her. Evie discovers they are being held by an ifrit who is torturing them for information on her. Because Reed is still so quiet about his plan of attack, Evie feels pushed to act on her own. C...more
Wow. 4.5 stars! I would love to give it 5.
I've said before that this series includes great characters with a complex set of problems, but in this installment, Amy Bartol really raised the stakes. She took an already jam-packed plot and took it to a new level.
About halfway through the book, Reed and Russell have a conversation about missions. This conversation leads me to believe that Evie and Russell have always been so much more than regular people and that they have also both always known tha...more

So Amy Bartol did it again, just when I thought that I couldn't fall more in love with this series. So I officially hate Russel, ok maybe not hate that's such a strong word. But I don't like that he just keeps kissing Evie when he knows that she is with Reed. Who is more than her husband they are bound together. And then there's Brennus, I wanted to hate him because he is just getting in the way of Reed but it was really hard to hate him. Ther...more

For me this book was better than the second book, but not quite as good as the first.
Let's see what she can come with for the next one because I'm pretty tired of EVERYONE falling all over themselves to be in love with Evie.
Says a lot about the author right there.
There were so many times I wanted to slap Evie in this book, it's really quite unbelievable and I for one am glad that there was a lot of the story where Evie spends time away from Reed. The simpering, spineless fool that she becomes ar...more

Every single page is an ode to Evie's beauty, wits, kind heart ... and every single page goes something like this:

Evie: No, I will protect you.
X: You are beautiful.

X: I won't let anything happen to you, look there is the evil guy.

I just love this series, it is a roller coaster ride, lots of twists and turns, a tumult of emotions and at the end you feel exhilarated but sad it is over. Evie has become this fierce woman who will sacrifice everything for the people she loves, puts herself in danger, does whatever it takes and even make a contract with the devil so to speak. Brennus is like a heat seeking missile always finding Evie and then kidnapping her, telling her he loves her and wants her to love him. The only problem...more
Everyone needs to read this series... It's for all ages and is extremely captivating and addictive!
So I've gotten myself extremely invested in this series! The majority of the book revolves around Brennus and Evie. Evie is evolving and learning a lot in this addition as is Russell.
I'll start with what I missed in this book, the romance between Reed & Evie, when there was parts it was bittersweet, super romantic, and made my heart flutter. But there just wasn't enough! I also really missed Bu...more

Wow what to say about this book! I've not got my thesaurus with me so I cnt find all the words for AWESOME!!!!! Omg Brenuss is officially the best an sweetest kind of stalker, he's actaully grown on me and I got to like him. And the 'fellas' I love them too especially Declan cuz he's so cheeky! Hehe. At first when things turned out for the worst with Russel an Brownie being captured I was like oh no, here we go again with Evie trying to make the situation better by 'saving' everybody by eeerr.....more

“I miss the outline of your body pressed to mine and the feel of your breath on my neck when you sleep. I miss the sound of your voice. I need you. I have to go soon, but I will be back for you. I promise you. Then, I will show you that there is still beauty in the world -- not a future full of despair. I promise you, I will.”
