These books are to sci-fi what Dan Brown is to crime fiction - a storyline that almost runs away with you it progresses that quickly, yet at the same time the writing is almost amateurish in style, almost as if the author vomited their thoughts onto the page.

Writing and prose is stilted and somewhat juvenile. Plot is interesting, but I found it pretty unrealistic how suddenly the tides of war changed just because of some fancy equipment. My earlier squabbles about spelling and grammar have been brought down a notch, a few mistakes hear and there but far fewer than previous books by Nick.

The story continues on past this book, carrying you onto more fighting and bloodshed. A decent if not easy to ready nov

Another good fast read with lots of combat. Plenty of "magic" to help the poor humans against the invaders. I enjoyed the read, although the story left me wanting for something that I cannot quantify.
