I adored Noah- the first book in the 5th Street series. But I can tell you that for me, Gio blew it out of the water. This is an incredible read. I'm a big fan of angst and Reyes delivers in Gio. It's steamy, heart-breaking, romantic, and touching all rolled into one. This is the kind of story that stays with you long after you've finished it. It'll become one of your favorite rereads.
Welcome back to 5th Street! This touching and sexy series centers on a sweet, masculine, loyal, and loving bunch of guys who call the 5th Street boxing gym their home away from home. Book two in the series tells the story of one sinfully “delectable”, green-eyed beauty that is Giovanni Bravo!
This book opens with one hell of a sad, painful punch to the gut that sends Gio’s world spiraling into darkness and depression. The man may have left me dazed with those sparkling eyes, but it was his pain,...more

So...Gio. So...Gio. Soooooo....Gio.
I'm not sure what to say.
Usually, this type of reaction comes from me not being able to express how a book made me feel because it was incredible. In the case of Gio, I'm finding myself unsure how to convey that I liked a book fine without making people think I didn't care for it.
We'll start with the cheating
Call it a spoiler if you want to but I can't. Any time a person picks up a book about a trigger subject, it's probably a good idea for them to know ahead o...more

This is a tough one to rate since the whole cheating issue is not to my liking nowadays. But I did feel all the emotions involved here and I think it was spot on to how someone would actually feel or deal with in real life. I just think that Gio & Bianco should have come clean rather sooner than when they did. Also, the whole van situation was effed up. Noah from the first book was probably the only smart one throughout this whole book and I appreciate that. Overall, I did enjoy this and I g...more

I was really worry with the cheating plot line, and though Noah had it right when she says “No matter what, this wont end well”. It was unforgivable what Gio and Bianca did to Felix, and even though Felix was even a bigger cheater, he did deserve honesty up front.
Gio, was full of emotions, from the death of his father, the guilt over what happen in the fight with Trinidad, from liking and then loving a friend girlfriend, from trying (and failing royally) in doing the right thing with those feeli...more

Gio was being a silent person on the first sequel and as his character been introduce with Noah story as a very loyal friend; it is hard to contemplate Gio betraying his friend for a woman. Well; actually not, when badass hero falls in love, it only means world against him. Huh! Can’t blame with the innocent beauty of Bianca no wonder two boxers fell in love with her. It is good that Ms. Elizabeth had shown that even love triangle true love is present. And even in love triangle; friends...more

This book was a solid 4 star read for me. Elizabeth Reyes does angst so well! Gio was a very good read. I'm not usually ok with cheaters and liars but this kind of worked for me. I'm not sure why it worked - it just did. Maybe it's because I felt like both of the main characters were in emotionally precarious places from the outset. They started out by being forced together by the h's "boyfriend". He was a liar & a scumbag and was using them both for his own gain. I won't say that he deserve...more
Ive been a fan of Elizabeth Reyes since I started the Moreno series, I admit I skipped Noah. But I didnt feel that gap reading this. Gio and Noah are best buds so the constant interaction was there and I could feel the closeness even if I missed the first book.
Admittedly, I thought I wouldnt like the similarity of some themes to a certain book. BUT I was pleasantly surprised, I LOVED it. Gio this boy is all heart, I loved he feels things a lot to heart. Gio is just a great guy he blows it out of...more

I went back and forth about what my rating would be for this one, because this book left me very conflicted. I enjoyed Noah's story and was looking forward to Gio, but it was not at all what I was expecting. It had the feel of a story that was trying to be like Thoughtless only wrapped up into a shorter book, so it took me by surprise. This wasn't your standard romance with the characters falling immediately in lust and not able to keep their hands off each other. It was more of a slowly-develop...more
Gio Gio Gio! Loved him! Gio is another fighter at 5th street. While in the boxing ring he went through a traumatic experience which put his career as a fighter on hold. Focusing on just training he followed his friend and boxing champ Felix to train him in the mountains. Felix's girlfriend Bianca happens to be the innocent crush Gio had in high school. Bianca and Gio are pulled to each other in an intense way, but Felix in the picture it makes things complicated to say the least.

Another awesome book by Elizabeth Reyes!! I absolutely love the Moreno book series and now I'm falling for the 5th street series as well! I was very surprised at how fast this book was released. I was currently in the middle of another book but when i saw this one become available i just had to put the other on hold. I could not put this book down....it kept me wondering what's going to happen next. Cant wait for the next one :) Also excited for the next book in the Moreno Series :)
Gio (5th Street)
Wow!! Awesome book! I feel like I have cheated on the Moreno brothers with the guys from 5th street. Let me just say…I like the 5th street guys but I will always love the Moreno brothers. This is the only reason I put 4 stars instead of 5.
This is a great book. I didn’t think I was going to like Gio’s story ….who could like a guy that try’s to steal his childhood friends girl? However I gave it a shot and of course I was hooked. The story didn’t go like I thought it would which...more

Keď hodnotím SP knihu, hodnotím riešenie situácie a štýl písania, asi nič viac lebo inak by nič nedostalo viac než 2 hviezdičky :D

Gio is tingly goodness. I hate cheating and I do not condone it in the least, but this book melted my heart. After a disastrous fight, Gio shuts down and loses himself in guilt and depression. No one, not even his best friends, can get through to him. He desperately needs to get away from it all. His old friend, Felix, asks him to move to Big Bear for 2 months to help him train for his next fight. It all sounds perfect. Gio wasn’t expecting, or planning, on falling for Felix’s girlfriend, Bianca...more

I really enjoyed Noah, the first in the 5th Street series. I enjoyed Gio as well, but not as much as the first. 3.75 stars for story, 3 for heat. I had a hard time at the beginning of the story. I found myself on twitter, facebook and goodreads more than usual (usually not a good sign for a book), but I read the last half in one sitting, so it did get better. Oh geez, and I thought Noah was a fantastic book. Gio might have even surpassed my feelings for its predecessor. Maybe. And it doesn't help that the two individuals on the cover are taking a nice, romantic stroll in the snow when it was snowing here as I read. Where is my swoony guy to walk in the snow with, huh?
I love how Elizabeth Reyes sort of plows right through the stereotypes of East LA and boxers. You'd think they be tough guys that can't show emotion and would be complete womanizers righ...more

Originally I gave this 4 stars, but I am changing my mind (women can do that right?)! After thinking about my 4 star review for a couple of days I realized how much I loved this book. It totally deserves the 5 stars since I gave Noah 5 stars, and I loved this one even more...it's only fair. The character and plot development were great, and once again Ms. Reyes has written a book I couldn't put down. Plus this book was steamier than Noah!
This is quite a bit different from Elizabeth's other novels. It is not light and carefree, and that is because it is about cheating. I don't often read books that involve cheating as I find they generally fall into one of two categories. 1: They are too painful, as that is what cheating is it causes pain and I read to escape, or 2: they glamorise it into being magical, which it is not as it is about lying and hurting people. This book falls somewhere in between. Other reviews may say that it "do...more

Gio, was a bit more detailed reading then I felt it needed to be. But I enjoyed the story, especially the way she kept the players from "Noah" involved. I was a little apprehensive about the whole cheating aspect, after reading some of the other reviews, but it wasn't at all a scenario like I was envisioning, glad she kept them somewhat calm given their true feelings. It took a very long time before the main players were given a chance at happiness. I was shocked with the death in the story but...more
I was both excited and little nervous to read Gio's story. But as always, Elizabeth Reyes wrote an exceptional story and pulled me from the first chapter.
Bianca is so sweet. She's the type of girl that is beautiful inside and out. She's selfless, laid back and really cool. She's deserves so much more in her life then what she has but she doesn't complain once. I know I should be against the whole cheating thing but honestly? I don't feel like Felix's deserves her at all. He never appreciated he...more

Gotta have my alpha-male fix, and of course, Elizabeth Reyes delivers with the second installment of the 5th Street series, Gio. I'm not a huge fan of how it came about, but the relationship between Gio and Bianca was intense, and I loved it.

“I hate fucking pussies like that." Felix reached out and shook Hector's hand. "Good for you, man. I would've cracked him too." He turned and pointed at Abel. "Let me know if you need help with that.
