She will risk everything to save his life.

When seventeen-year-old vampire hunter Sloane McAllister went into the Red Sector to look for her brother, she never expected to meet vampire commander Aden Knight. She definitely never meant to fall in love with him. And she never thought she’d call the vampires her friends, or that to save them she would defy the one person she s

This book blew my mind! It was so good I wanted to throw my tablet across the room when the book was over because I wanted more, so much more. Krystle Jones is a AMAZING writer! She adds so much depth and detail to her writing, it's incredible. She kept this book so fast paced with never ending: action, secrets, surprises, blood-shed, with a touch of romance. It was like being inside the book with the characters. She has really done a remarkable job at keeping my attention. There was never a du ...more

I was so disappointed that I didn't like this book, especially since I enjoyed the first one. I really had to force myself to finish.

The first book was good, I liked it. I thought it was an exciting new take on vampires and I appreciated that. This book angered me more than it made me happy. Most of the characters got on my last nerves, ESPECIALLY LEO. Take Leo out and this would be a pretty good book. You got action on nearly every page, suspense, romance, etc. But I have

Dark Horizons picks up right where the last book left off, with Sloane immediately embarking to find the cure for her boyfriend, Aden. This book is chock full of action and fighting, making it a real page-turner. Fans of The Scarlet Dagger will be very excited to get their hands on Dark Horizons. I really liked how the plot and characters took some interesting turns throughout the story, and the cliffhanger ending left me wanting to find out what happened next.

One personal thing about me that pr

A good follow up to The Scarlet Dagger. Sloane has to come to terms with the big finale in the last book, the loss of her friend, the possibility of losing another she cares deeply about. She must enlist the help of friends, both humans and vampires and a few "frenemies" too, as she races back to the white sector to find the person key to the cure for her special friend, before its too late. Lots of battles against the red sector guard, and in the white sector, the hunters, her mothers guards an ...more

(3.5 stars) I just loved the first book in the Red Sector Chronicles; however, in all honesty. "Dark Horizons" was a more tedious read for me. The book begins with Aden being diagnosed with the plague. Then Council member Frost accuses him and Sloane with treason. They are thrown into a cell until Aden's mother insist he be moved to the medical ward.

Sloane discovers that her twin brother, Orion, is not dead and is also sitting in a cell. When he stages a jail break Sloane escapes as well and go

Sloane is on a quest to save Aden from the super virus but will she get to him in time? This story has pages and pages of action and so many twists and turns that you feel like you are wandering in a maze. Each chapter leads you down a different path and the next thing you know there is a roadblock and the direction changes altogether. Struggling with her feelings for Aden and dealing with being a vampire is not easy for Sloane plus killing your brother has to be a burden even if he was her psyc ...more

Loveeeeeeeddd it! If you haven't read The Scarlet Dagger in a while, I suggest that you skim a few chapters to get back into the flow of things. Since I remembered close to nothing, I actually ended up rereading the whole novel. Which is a big deal, at least to me, because I absolutely despise rereading, even if I barely remember the plot. Sloane was a strong female lead who wasn't afraid to give people a piece of her mind or kick some ass when necessary. Krystle has spun a great story of traged ...more

I Don't normally give out many Fives for book. If you look through all the books I've read, there are only handful of them I gave such rating. THIS Book, deserved a five star rating. Except for a handful of chapters, every chapter had heart racing scenes and endings. There was so much action and 'close-calls' it was hard for me to put down the book!

You'll love the twists and turns this book takes. Krystle had done an amazing job with how Sloane is taken on a journey to save the wonderful Aden Kn
Ok, this comment is similar to the first, it was well written and expressed, despite some dodgy editing. Once again I was seriously annoyed because of the frequent loss of momentum in the action segments because of the author's regular tendency to go off into multiple digressions and details that depleted effects of the action.

The story was still fairly good although the novel was much too long.

After these downside points, and a fair amount of predictability towards the ending, I can't be bother

Lets just say I was expecting something a hell of a lot different. But I was definitely not disappointed. The ending had me crying out in surprise and anger that I had to wait for the next book to come out. Definitely worth the wait and I can't wait for the next one!
