There is hope and a better world is possible

This book is not for the cynical and world weary. It is for those willing to open up their hearts and minds to new horizons and the possibilities of hope and love. The author plainly believes that individual choices, and the decision, in particular to adopt an attitude of generosity, openness, and determination to live in a better world can help that dream become real.

To accomplish that requires, of course, that we seek help and the guidance of others

The author refers to this book as an essay several times, so I wondered if this began as an essay and evolved into more as she was inspired. The cover art is compelling and a wonderful graphic to represent the theme of the book.
Her exuberance and passion for the message she brings regarding her belief in the Christian Bible and deeply felt spiritual experience shines through each page. Acacia wants to share the prin

Acacia Slaton Beumer, in Launch Out Into The Deep, writes a book rich with wisdom and Godly advice on different subjects that are pertinent to today. It’s written in an easy-to-read format. Most of the chapters give a story from her own experiences, a Biblical story, or someone she either knows or heard about that expands the meaning of each title of the chapter. She doesn’t expect this to be just another book to read–she has in-depth discussion questions that really make you think through what ...more

Judging by the cover of this book, I thought it was for young adults, tweeners, and maybe a science fiction novel. One should never judge a book by it’s cover.

This is in reality, in the author’s own words: Bold, daring, daring and life-changing truths, candid answers to real-life stories and scenarios.

Launch Out Into the Deep is a religious novel that intends to inspire hope and answer difficult faith questions. It touches on the hypocrisy and pain spread by some who call themselves Christians, and overcoming those obstacles without hatred. The language used in the writing is very poetic, and there are poems included throughout. In fact, there are a TON of poems in this book, so you really have to enjoy reading poetry to get into the book (sadly, I'm of the personal opinion that poetry is gre ...more

Direct from the heart guidance on the way forward in a corrupt world.

The author takes the bull by the horns, and recognizes first the corrupt, dismaying shape that today’s world is in. But this is not primarily a book diagnosing the problem. That is, in the final analysis, all too obvious and easy.

Instead this is a book forged from experience and suggesting a new and different path forward, one based on expanding our horizons from narrow self-interest to taking action along with others to creat
I’m not sure where to begin as I review this book, Launch Out Into the Deep!, it’s not because it isn’t good, but because it is great – it’s more the style that throws me a bit, but that could also be because I’m reading it on my Kindle Fire instead of a printed book. Launch has been given the Dove ‘family approved’ seal for ages 12 and up and is a Mom’s Choice Award Gold Recipient. I don’t know if I would let every 12 year old read this book alone, as some of the subject matter is pretty intens ...more
"No one ever said life was easy. As long as we live on this earth, we will experience heartaches, disappointments, rejection, and betrayal. Be encouraged. You are not alone, for your Christian brothers and sisters all over the world are going through the same suffering."

Launch Out Into The Deep is part self help book, part Christian guide, and part inspirational poetry. Each chapter explores one challenging aspect of life: the importance of life lessons, how fame can be deceptive, trying to fil

Convicted, Compassionate and Christian

Acacia L. Slaton is not ashamed to profess and proclaim the lordship of Jesus in her life. Nothing is more evident in her practical tome Launch Out Into the Deep. In this seminal work she covers every day topics and proposes the right Christian attitude in each situation. Keenly aware of the pitfalls that await believers, she isn’t afraid to describe their foibles and weaknesses as they encounter opportunities to lift each other up and instead tear each othe

Launch out into the deep is a great book filled with inspiration and biblical insight. It is a devotional book with exhortations, stories, poem and scriptural discussions that are all scripturally sound. The discussion questions helped to solidify each concept once they were explored.
The exhortations were very encouraging and very often hit home. The language is every easy to understand and because of that, this book is suitable for everyone, includin

If you’re looking for a book of beauty, encouragement, and hope, you have found it. Acacia Beumer and Aaron Slaton have brought in Launch Out into the Deep words to help guide you to listen to God’s voice and find the silver lining in any circumstance.

Launch Out into the Deep is a book anyone can relate to. It addresses the need for fulfillment, the challenges faced in life, and the void that can only be filled by the love and acceptance of Jesus. This is a Christian book that does more than jus
The journey through daily life is not easy, especially in the 21st Century. This book may make that journey a little easier.

Daily life is supposed to be hard, with trials and challenges everywhere. Jesus never said, "Follow me, and you will have no problems or worries. I will take care of everything." How are you going to deal with grudges, resentment or really unpleasant people? There is nothing wrong with wanting to become rich or famous, until the point is reached where your moral upbringing

It is a very spiritual book with many uplifting messages and poems that advise us to look to God for the answers we seek. I agreed with some points the author made, but some I didn't agree with. For example, I do not feel like blaming music, books, or the media for how someone behaves is the right thing to do. I may have misunderstood this, but I feel like God or a higher being gives us the choice to make decisions in our life. So try drugs or rob someone and then say," well this rap song I was ...more

We all have perceptions of how "Christians" are suppose to walk the walk. We are quick to judge when they fall short of the glory. What we fail to realize is Christians make mistakes too. They are human.

Acacia Slaton Beumer, the author of “Launch Out Into the Deep,” has walked the walked. It wasn't always easy. She includes personal accounts to demonstrate the battle.

I really enjoyed “Launch Out Into the Deep.” Beumer includes biblical stories and personal situations to enc

"Launch Out Into the Deep" is heartfelt book of devotions by a very talented young writer and counselor, Acacia Beumer. As I read this book, I felt there were parts of it that seemed almost written for me. Amazing! Apparently Ms. Beumer has a gift of discernment that transcends into her writing career. If you are feeling lonely, discouraged, regretful or even rebellious, please read this book. It will truly touch your soul. "Launch Out Into the Deep" also includes poetry and reflections from Ms. ...more

To put it simply, this book is not a good one and the author has a terrible attitude about it.

I reviewed this book honestly and gave the author insight into high points and low points, the high point being the technical ability in that there aren't too many grammatical errors. The low point was the absolute lack of research anywhere in the book. This was written in no time flat and that comes across very clearly. The author claims that "God wrote the book through me" which is kind of a cute thin
This book, filled with short and long devotionals, will encourage you to trust in the Lord. There are many books that you could read that point you to the Lord as the answer to your problems but this particular book uses day to day circumstances and Biblical examples to remind you of all the Lord can do.

There are relevant quotes that follow each devotional. There is ample scripture to support the principles discussed. The poetry that is scattered throughout is meaningful and helpful.

This book was deep! It really brought a positive religious message to secular situations. Moreover, the biggest message I got concerned controlling yourself and understanding that situations happen for a reason. Things may not always be positive, but they can teach you a valuable lesson about what's most important. It relayed a spiritual message in a logical way. I would recommend this book to someone who is looking for spiritual answers and can't them from the Bible due to ambiguity. I would lo ...more
Launch into the deep is not my usual kind of book. On the whole I enjoy mysteries and suspense. Every now and then I do like to branch out and read other material. This is one of the times I am very happy I did. The poetry in this book is heartfelt and real as well as being amazingly written. I had my wife read this book after I did and she plans to reread it soon. It is not often that you find an author who is as young as Acacia Slaton Beumer and her brother Aaron Slaton who has such an in-dept ...more
I was one of those people who gave up on the idea that God can help me. After reading Launch Out Into The Deep, my faith has been restored. It uses God’s words and stories from the bible to guide us through problems that are so prevalent today. It showed me that regardless of our current state, we can overcome all obstacles that come our way if we choose to take a righteous path. I have a better understanding of things that I can do to change my situation and attitude towards life. Readers of al ...more

This would also be a good book for personal study if you have a mature teen who can independently reflect and process these ideas. Because of the issues presented in the book, I think this would be best for ages 14+. I would definitely recommend that parents read the book first before sharing it with your kids, so that you are prepared for the issues that are presented.

I received a copy of this book to review. These opinions are 100% mine.

"Launch Out Into The Deep" by Acacia Beumer truly touched my spirit. I was moved to tears reading about her actual encounters with others. Some were devastatingly sad and others made me wonder in awe at how God does his will through others. The book also features poetry by Beumer's brother, Aaron Slaton. Slaton is indeed a gifted poet. I look forward to reading more from this sibling duo.

The book has a raw, real tone. Personal experience essays are woven with verses and poetry to create an inspiring book. I'm very glad I was able to review this book, as it spoke to me. Not everyone will get the same message - it's one of those books that can reach anyone in any circumstance.

Disclosure: I did receive a copy of this e-book for free, but the opinions are my own.

I do not know where to begin. There were so many things I loved about this book. The poems were so real and touching. They discussed real life issues that we all face at one point in our life. I think this would be a great gift to anyone that loves poetry or great reading or may be in need of some uplifting. I will be picking up more books by this author. Get your copy today!
