This book came to my attention during the Global eBook Awards ceremony, where it had a much-deserved win. While the authors could have taken the easy way out and written a travelogue about their walk from Rome to Jerusalem, they instead wrote frankly about the problems and blessings they encountered, as well as the metaphysical growth they underwent.

I often found myself putting my eReader down for a time in order to examine not only what had just happened in the book, but also my emotional react

Sometimes in life you get much more than you were expecting, rarely, but this book is a good example. I'll let others reviewers cover specific content, let me tell you how this book made me feel.

I was looking forward to it after having some interaction with Mony & Alberto, and thought I would be reading a book about a pilgrimage, and I expected a sort of travel guide. Sounded great!

But what I got was so much more. This is a true story and has everything you would expect in a Hollywood blockb

Walking for Peace is the story of an inspirational non-religious pilgrimage undertaken by two friends, Mony and Alberto, who seek to promote peace in the world by walking from Rome to Jerusalem. Along their way, they discover that their trek takes on a life of its own and offers a variety of unanticipated lessons about life and human nature. I was pulled right into their journey and felt like I was walking right alongside them, experiencing the broad ranges of physical and emotional challenges t ...more

Walking for Peace was an inspiring story about two friends who frustrated with the rat race decided to abandon it and agreed to a challenge; walking across the European continent through 17 countries hiking along the path the apostle's and servants of the pass travelled seeking the mysteries of inner peace and question the unknown. Inspirational journey and people. I admired their stamina and perseverance in bringing a message of peace while on their lengthy pilgrimage, passing through difference countries and learning to communicate in many languages.

I couldn't put it down. This book chronicles two peoples walking journey from Rome to Jerusalem. The journeyers must find their own way and trust that they will find the right route, shelter and food. They learn and deepen their own understanding of what peace is, how to trust their authentic voice and speak with courage and respect about their “peace” journey and what it means for them. As with most pilgrimages, they share wisdom learned on the road. The book poignantly describes 1) personal re ...more

This book is more than a typical travel book- a fast read for myself but one that stayed with me long after having closed the book. I find myself in my everyday routine being struck by different excerpts or stories that Mony and Alberto encountered along their journey. I felt at times as though I was invading their private journey but recognizing that this is a journey that we each are taking in our own lives....perhaps not to such exotic or remote locations but with each step through our daily ...more
