This is the 11th book of 12 in the saga of vampires and how Darren lives his daily life as one. In this book, old friends are back for revenge, when Darren vowed to be a half vampire, he also had to leave behind his family, his friends, his town, everything. Darren soon adapted to this life-style by meeting vampires like himself and others much older than him. One of his friends, Steve, is back for revenge. Darren was a traitor to Steve and went with Mr. Crepsley, his mentor, than go with Steve ...more

Lord of the Shadows
by Darren Shan

In this fantasy book, it is really interesting. They have a different aspect of the vampires. Unlike many other vampire books, it was vampires that were evil and they seek blood, and they kill their victims. But in this series, they have a new race of vampires. It wasn't the vampires who have been killing their victims when they drink blood from them, it was the vampaneze who drain blood dry from their victims.
I love this book because it is different from other

When I finished this book I was biting my nails to get the next one. I was constantly devouring Darren Shan's words every waking moment when I bought this series. Not only is he a brilliant writer; he is a master of terror.

The book starts off a little slow compared to the Lake of Souls, Book 10, did. Also I had gotten confused for a minute because I was also reading Shan's Wolf Island in the Demonata series. (excellent as well!) I'm honestly living some of the situation Darren does. Coming back

Lord of the Shadows by Darren Shan is the 11th book out of 12 books in the series. This book made me want to finish the series. It really made up for the 10th book, which wasn't as great, and gave excitement. There was also action and unexpected things that could suprise the reader. Darren Shan's way of writing, leaving you in a cliffhanger throughout the book, would make someone keep on reading until the end of the series and could even persuade you to read other books by him. This book is base ...more

After his bizarre trip with Harkat into the land of the Lake of Souls, Darren returns to the Cirque du Freak--a place with such history for him--but without his mentor, Mr. Crepsley, he travels around with the circus, headed by Mr. Tiny. When the Cirque arrives in his old hometown, he wishes for reunion with those who think he's dead, but the possibility of leading the vampaneze to his loved ones makes this too risky. But there is one reunion he won't be able to avoid: a clash between him and is ...more

This series is just full of twists and shocking and tragic circumstances!
In this book, Darren and Harkat are traveling with the Cirque du Freak when the Cirque ends up back in Darren's hometown. Of course, he wants to see how the town has changed and how his family and friends are doing, but he is unsure of how involved with them he should be.

Of course, Steve manages to show up in this book, and it is revealed that he has a son. I was not surprised to learn who the boy's mother was (An

Lord of the Shadows is the penultimate book in Darren Shan’s CIRQUE DU FREAK series. If you haven’t read the previous books, but plan to, I recommend that you don’t read this review until you’ve read them, for I will certainly spoil the plot for you.

Darren Shan’s adventures in the vampire world began when he made a series of bad mistakes. First he stole money from his parents and snuck out of the house to visit the Cirque du Freak, an illegal traveling circus. Then he stole a poisonous spider fr

Dia anak Mr. Tiny, saudara Evanna. Dan kema

I love it when stories end in the same place where they began. The countdown for Armageddon starts in Lord of the Shadows.

Several years after the events of the last book, Darren travels with the Cirque Du Freak to his hometown. There he reunites with an old friend of his from the first book, Tom Jones who is now a world famous soccer player. Tom isn't the only old face that Darren meets though; Steve "Leopard" Leonard, Gannen Harst, R.V., and Morgan James return to menace Darren again as well as

So, that happened. Series getting crazier it seems but you can't help but what to know what happens. Guess we have one more book left then? Sad to see it end.

An addicting story that wont let you go until you finish them all. Don't open this book unless you're ready to finish it within the hour. I enjoy the fact that each book was on the smaller scale, allowing them to easily be read in one sitting. Unfortunately, it also meant it was a pain to have to wait an entire evening to go back to the store and pick up the next two or three in the series. Author Darren Shan shows he has what it takes to write a compelling story brimming with suspense and horro ...more

this book took me by surprise. from the way it started i believed that it would just be about Darren finding out more about the Lord of the Shadows and not meeting steve again. But then James killed Mr Tall! he was my favorite character AND i never placed him as Mr. Tinys son! then heartless evil steve killed poor Shancus i mean talk about a twisted gut feeling ending! not to say that Steve is Annies lover..or is he???

Friikkisirkuksen viimeiset osat jäivät odottamaan juuri sitä - sarjan viimeisiä osia. Nyt ne on mukava ahmaista peräkkäin.

Monta vuotta vinkkaussuosikkina ja taattuna lukuhoukuttimena pysynyt sarja astelee kunnialla kohti loppuaan. Kohtuullisen monimutkainen juoni on yhdentoista osan aikana vienyt moneen suuntaan, ja yksinkertaiset moraalipohdinnat ovat muuttuneet vuosien varrella aikuisuuteenkin liittyviksi odotuksiksi - ehkä se uhkaava maailmanloppukin vähän vaikuttaa romaanien tylyyteen.

The eleventh book in the series continues to be fascinating, a dark road leading to an exciting (I hope anyway) finish. In love with Darren and his supporting characters, it's easy to hate the evil Vampinese Lord, although HIS personal sidekicks seem to be showing more a multi-layered conscience. There's two sad deaths that surprised me in this one, all grim and brutal to match the series and how things are going. There is a certain character who is still deeply missed and, if the predictions co ...more

Things are coming together and getting very dramatic. This Penultimate book and it's all getting very exciting.

Darren is back where it all started in his home town, crossing old faces and having to deal with old demons from his past. Family, friends, community, things have moved on without him but others have stayed the same.

And then everything around him turns to chaos as his fight against the Vampire Lord starts to get even more messy.

The whole series has been building up to this finale and
