I'm not sure, really, what to rate this book..(view spoiler)[First of all... I don't see any RELUCTANCE in this book. All it is, is JUST a sequel and poor at that. Cameron is already gay, being in a somewhat relationship at the beginning of the book. Mato (who is a liar) has no qualms about gay sex. Also, I thought the whole shot thing to 'be a shifter' was poorly done. If Cameron was given a shot to 'turn' into a shifter, it should have been permanent, otherwise I don't believe he should have b...more

I was not going to read this. Really. I was not. And yet... I did *sighs* To cut a long story short this book is TOTALLY fucked up. And one of the MCs is an absolute shameless liar. It's either this or the author forgot what she wrote at the beginning of the book:

“I suppose if you got more excited, you would give off a stronger scent in your own way.” The wonder in his expression drew a certain suspicion in Cameron.
“What are you curious about?” he asked.
Mato stared at him as if he wondered how

I was if'y because the reviews said that mato lied to cam about being with a man before or that the author completely forgot what she said and later changed it but after reading it I don't see how people didn't understand what happened ... After mato said he had never been with a man before the next line is cam saying he could tell from his scent he was lying and later it's said the reason why mato was curious about cam was because he smelled like his brother who was his mate and that's why he l...more

This book was awful. I had such disdain for Mato that I couldn't read beyond chapter 2. I didn't like how he treated Lucas in his own home. Cameron should have stayed in D.C. with Owen. Prior to reading the first book in this series, and attempting to read this one, I had never read any books by this author. I'm sorry to say that I wasn't missing out on very much and will not be reading anymore books by her. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.

What a waste of a beautiful morning!!
I don't know if it was the author sleeping or the editor but how this book got published I'll never know.

I would like to know how in the beginning of the book Mato said “I’ve never been with a man.” Then three quarters in he admits (view spoiler)

That not only had he enjoy sex with Cam's BROTHER, he had been mated to him. Someone is NOT reading these before they are published!

This is a very short story (as is Reluctant Mate) and there were parts that were a bit disjointed I think because the author was trying to get so much in to a short page count. Regardless, the characters were interesting and the story was enjoyable.

Meh short paranormal m/m romance about a guy who, aided by a drug that makes it seem as if he's a shifter, vows to hunt down the wolf shifters who killed his brother.

This book was disjointed, messy and complete plot lines were just thrown out there to the point of making no sense. This story did not work for me at all.
Kathy
Uneven; hard to stay engaged with the story because Cam was all over the place. Liked Lucas better in the prior story. Not sure how I feel about Mato.

It bothered me the fact that Mato had mated with Cam's brother first. I know it was by choice and not by fate but... it bothered me.

This book add to the problems I noticed in the first novella the absurdity of the plot.

Only one problem with the book:

If you are from New Orleans you know that a trolley is called a Street Car!

I just wish it were longer. Would have loved to see how Cam dealt with Owen after he found out the truth.

Horrible! Senseless...baseless...disjointed...!
Couldn't get past page 16 out of 65.
