I really, really wanted to like this book. The plot sounded very interesting and right up my alley. But in all honesty I couldn't get past the first chapter. I just didn't find the writing style one that worked for me. The descriptions were so dense, too much said when less would do for me. I like a little more room to move in a story, I guess.
I give it five stars. The Alchemical Horseman drew me in throughout reading it and kept me enthralled in its writings. I wish i read it right away when i first received it as once I started, I couldn't put it down. Now I'm tempted to read it all over again. And probably will. I received the book free through goodreads.

He has worked with horses of burden in economically deprived communities across the world: from the rubbish du...more
