Hybrids.

If I had to choose one word to sum up all of my problems, this would be it.

Ever have a book that you sit and sit and try to think of words to describe how you feel about them but nothing can really explain it right. Blood Bond is one of those books for me. And its because it was freaking fantastic that every time I try to think of what to say all these thoughts going running threw my head that I can't even get them out right.

If you have read Dirty Blood and Cold Blood you are for a crazy amazing awesomesauce ride in Blood Bond. Heather has out done herself in this book...more

So, I'm guessing with the whole cliffhanger ending, this isn't the end of the series?

Either way, I'm pleased to note, Blood Bond was nothing short of what I had expected: intense & action-packed.

However, I was bothered by the whole "pack" bond thing...Usually, in other were novels, the whole bonding thing is meant for mates only. So it took me awhile to get to used a new "bonding" concept. I wouldn't have minded if it was just between two hybrids, but I don't understand how it could work with an actual pack. It's bizarre, and the whole "master" thing was a tiny bit off-putting...

Also, although it's painfully obvious that Wes and Tara are "destined" to end up together, I have a huge soft spot for the underdog. Always. It's just my thing. And that little sliver of hope I had for Alex and Tara?? I hope the chemistry between them doesn't die off in the next book. Alex needs to redeem himself! And Wes needs to step up his game! Don't get me wrong, I don't like it when guys are TOO overprotective, or stalker status, or possessive, but.... Wes almost seemed TOO trusting. I'm hoping the love-triangle (or possible square), will stay fresh, and intact in the next book! I have my fingers crossed.

Anyway, another 5/5 for the Dirty Blood series. I love the direction its headed, and I can't wait to see how the war will develop, if Vera's vision will come true (what it means), and the development of each character, especially Tara's growth (as she comes into her own, as a leader, partner, lover?), and of course, who Tara will end up with.

Will it be Wes because she met him first? Because it was ALWAYS him from the beginning? Because of that magnetic pull, that thing called destiny? That irresistible attraction? Or because of his unwavering faith in her, his loyalty? Or will it be Alex, the steady hunter that makes her stomach flip? The one she shared that intimate moment with in the motel? The one that doesn't judge her, and is equally as protective of her, and trusting of her, the one who loves her strength?? Or, will it be George? Okay, I admit, I don't really see this happening, but still, anything is possible, right? ;-) George, the steady one. The one she shares this emotional connection with, the one that has known her all her life. The dependable one. I mean, "Always" is the name of their song...

Tara is so ready to go home to check on her friend George after the attack and incident with Miles. But she is torn. She knows that this means leaving Alex. And on the last night at Wood Pointe, Alex tells her his plans, which is bad. Tara knows she has feelings for him, but she loves Wes so she let’s him go. Upon coming home, some new “rules” are put into place for Tara and now also Cambria, who is coming home with Tara. Tara’s mom is learning about all the secrets Tara has kept, and even though she wants nothing more than to protect Tara, she also understands that Tara needs to properly defend herself. There are enemies from all sides!

Sometimes things are going well at home, she gets to see her friends, her family, her extended family which are the Cause people, and find out even more secrets- the “leader” of the hybrid wants Tara- bad! And FINALLY Wes is standing BESIDE Tara instead of trying to push her behind him. He is trying to let her kinda stand on her own.

All I can say is WOW!!! I’m almost at a loss for words. I mean, I expected surprises- BUT WOAH!! I can’t even comprehend what to say right now!! I was BLOWN AWAY! And talk about EPIC ENDING!!! And so many twists!! Look, if you haven’t read this is series, you are seriously missing out. And there is so much growth for EACH character!

Tara is learning to come to terms with not just WHO, but WHAT, she is. Wes is learning to let Tara be a person and not just something to protect. Alex is trying to cope with his feelings for Tara while keeping true to himself. Cambria is learning that family can include people who are not your blood. And Tara’s mother is learning all the secrets Tara’s kept and learning that Tara needs to live her own life with her own choices, no matter how much you want to keep her out of things.

I need to clarify that I am still firmly planted on Team Alex, but I am no longer on the dislike side of Wes. It’s going to sound strange, but in the first book I didn’t actually like Wes. Most days I wanted to punch him. But he made Tara happy, sometimes, and I wanted things to work out. When book two came around, I knew I was gunna fall for Alex! I also had a feeling at the end of book one that Alex was going to have a role after saving Tara in the warehouse. I know a lot of you are VERY team Wes- KAY THIS IS MEANT FOR YOU!! My friend Kayleigh from K-Books, is seriously invested in Wes… We argue this lots lol– ps she has a giveaway at her blog for this tour as well I’m very disappointed in Alex right now, I’ve got more respect for Wes than I’ve ever had, and I think I’m with Cambria on the Derek subject, BUT I’m still Team Alex!

All I know is, after that ending, I’M DYING!!! Do you hear me- DYING!!! I don’t know if my biggest dream has come true or if I am gunna lose my breath!! Heather, I’ll need book 4, REALLY SOON!!! Throw me a bone here!!!

I am speechless. I have just finished this book and it was the ultimate cliffhanger! How could you do that to me Heather? LOL, but no joke this book was fascinating.

I love the fact that Wes is back in the picture as he is my favorite sexy werewolf. He and Tara seem stronger and happier than before which I am really happy about.

Why I Read Blood Bond: Heather Hildenbrand is the first indie author whose work I read and loved. I've enjoyed the first two books in the series (Dirty Blood review/Cold Blood review) and was excited to take on book three.

It belongs to her boyfriend Wes, but Alex, her former trainer and friend, is always there at the edge of her thoughts. And we can't forget George, Tara's former boyfriend, now friend, who needs her more than ever. With the tension within the organization strengthening, and the threat of Hybrids looming, Tara and her friends are in more danger than ever. Not all of them will survive. All of them will be forever changed.

The Dirty Blood series is honestly one of my favorite Paranormal YA series. Honestly, I'm not the biggest fan of Were-centric stories, so when I say that I really enjoy this series, I truly mean it. I could say that I enjoy it because I love the world Hildenbrand has built: her version of Shifters, the Hunters and Hybrids; or the characters, Tara, Wes, Alex, Cambria...they are all very well-developed and cool people that I've come to care about; and the action-filled plot, there is very little down-time in Blood Bond, the momentum is swift and gripping.

All of those reasons can fully justify my love for the series. But as much as anything else, I thoroughly enjoy Heather Hildenbrand's writing. Plain and simple. Blood Bond is the fifth of Hildenbrand's books that I've read, and at this point, I can say that her style suits me. Her stories are very well-developed, her writing is always flawless and easy to read.

Blood Bond is another great addition to the Dirty Blood series. Tara and the other characters continue to grow and become even more engaging. The story was crazy intense, and will have you swooning one moment, then holding your breath, and wondering what will happen next. And that ending? O.M.G.

Intense, engaging, and fun, Blood Bond is a book that is a book that will leaving you begging for more!

Hildenbrand does it again; the third book in her Dirty Blood series is just as intense and addicting as the first two books. I was thrilled getting back into this series and following Tara and watching her become a stronger and more independent character. The ending is one heck of a shocker and will leave you questioning, but its what I call epically fantastic and the fans I feel will love it.

Blood Bond ends right where Cold Blood left off, Tara is still at the academy but about to head back home after all the incidents that occurred. She is anxious to help George and get back to Wes and her family. But she’s not safe, well really know one is since the Hybrids are still out there. But with Miles gone someone else is in charge and they want Tara, plus CHAS seems to want to get rid of more than just the Hybrids.

Tara has grown up a lot since Dirty Blood; she is definitely stronger after learning who and what she is. But she has also gained a leadership attitude and really has become independent and needing to do things on her own even if it means putting herself in danger. Her major agenda is George, after Miles injected him and he may turn into a “monster”. Tara wants to find someway to help him fight that side of him. Even though their relationship has changed they still have that strong friendship and I liked that about her. She doesn’t love him like Wes, but he’s like family. My major problem was with Tara’s mother, she irritated me with how she doesn’t really understand what kind of situation her daughter is in and that even though she’s young she has a lot on her shoulders. I wish her mother would back off a little.

Wes is always such an awesome guy; his supportiveness with Tara really won me over this time around, yes he’s protective but in the end lets her do it her way. I love their relationship and love for each other, its sweet and passionate, both really have matured and taken on so much responsibility. I also like that he is still a young guy too, even with all the adult responsibilities he gets jealous of Tara’s friendship with George and Alex of course.

Alex, okay I can’t get into much detail with him. But Alex fans he is definitely a key character in this book. He still has deep feelings for Tara and chooses to work with CHAS, which shocked me a bit, but some much happens with him that it left me speechless.

Cambria, she actually plays a bigger role is this book, which I was super excited to see. This girl is down right moody and cold to Tara but they get a lot of scene together that I enjoyed.

Overall Blood Bond doesn’t disappoint, usually as I read series they aren’t ever as god as the first but this was just as good. The character development and writing is fantastic and I just can’t get enough of this world that Hildenbrand has created. There are many villains this time around and it really puts in perspective the dangers that Tara and the gang are really facing and going to face in the future. Everything is starting to build up and the end… wow! Lets just say you’ll be holding your breath after you read the ending. It’s a kicker and I seriously can’t wait to see what happens in the next book.

RECOMMENDATION:
This is a young adult novel that you don’t want to miss out on. Fans of Andrea Cremer’s Nightshade series and Nancy Holders Crusade series will love the Dirty Blood series by Heather Hildenbrand.

And of course, Hildenbrand has done such a phenomenal job fleshing out the plot that this amazing story seamlessly flows together and holds the reader’s attention until the very end, when a massive, heart pounding cliffhanger drops the bottom out from under him/her. That’s right… it might kill you, but it’s so worth the read! All I can say is, one of our very sexy male characters is going to be pissed at the start of book four... royally.

But, back to the story. Hildenbrand has created some amazing characters that I’ve loved since the very beginning, and watching them grow and change as the story evolves and becomes more intense is possibly one of the most rewarding things for a reader. I love a good plotline, but I love real, vivid, fleshed out characters even more, and Hildenbrand knows just how to make them. I have to say that Tara has come very far over the course of the series, and she has had to make some tough decisions, but I think the toughest yet are in this third installment, and I don’t envy her. While I agree with her wholeheartedly, I don’t think I could do it. If faced with the same situations, I feel that I would not win out, and I respect Tara all the more for being able to make the difficult decisions, knowing someone’s life might hang in the balance. It’s just amazing!

And the hybrids? I love the hybrids. Well, let me rephrase. I love the idea behind the hybrids, and the mystery they bring to the novel, as well as the fear and heartache they evoke. A war is coming and I’m dying to know the outcome… pins and needles, people. Pins and needles.

I simply loved this book. It took me for an amazing ride and I have to admit, I was floored by one of the turns of events. I really did not see it coming and I love that in a book. This may be the best of the series so far. Tara and Wes really comes into her own in this book. Tara begins to understand what it really means to be a hybrid and Wes begins to become the leader he was destined to believe. As seems to be a trend with me lately, I so love the grandmother best. For whatever reasons, I thought the DIRTY BLOOD books were a trilogy, so I was expecting BLOOD BOND to wrap up a bunch of things, to get everything settled, and Tara could have her Happily Ever After with whichever boy won her heart.

It's taking to long to get the next book! Very interested in this story line and where it could go... I love finding new ways to see the old stories of werewolfs, vamps and any other scary story we grew up with. Blood Bond took the cake! Heather Hildenbrand outdid herself. Each book in the Dirty Blood series is better than the one prior. Absolutely stunning!

After reading the ending to Blood Bond ........

I needed book 4 like now - an ending that certainly fluffed my pillows and had me in a tether.

Blood Bond as lots of Twists and turns , A HUGE heart ache , kick arse action, and characters that will draw you into the pages. I enjoyed every character that Heather has scribed, some more than others.** grins ** But I was certainly happy to see more of Wes in this story. The love that Tara and Wes has is more than just lust. It makes you gooey inside.. - sigh - But I honestly couldn't help but want Alex tooooooooo..

There will be moments where you will be teary eyed... Heather certainly didn't waste any time - adding in that bit of heart ache in this story - but they say, what hurts you makes you stronger RIGHT !!!

I'm not sure which book boyfriend I like the most but after that ending - I certainly need some explaining ;) It was defiantly unpredictable and I certainly didn't see it coming. I love that in a story !!!! UNPREDICTABLE !!

George still holds that soft spot for me - the friendship that Tara and George had was certainly something you would never give up. Blood Bond is certainly a fantastic title for this book with all that became about. (( sigh )) Heather portrays all the emotions so well in this story giving the reader great depth into the relationships of each and every character.

Heather certainly packs this installment in the series with danger, revelations, heartache , and, of course, smexy romance. Tara is a feisty heroine surrounded by hot, hunters and werewolves , and a world destined for her. This instalment of Dirty blood gives a deeper glimpse into the world in which Heather has created, filling in gaps from previous books and leaving us hanging off the edge of our seat in eager anticipation of what's to come in book 4 .

Blood Bond is an action-packed, fast-paced, entertaining, addictive and completely engrossing story. With amazing dialogue , intelligent and action-packed plot, sizzling chemistry between our kick arse heroine, hunters , and hybrids and an ending that will have you WANTING MORE !!

To learn that Tara is getting closer and closer to turning into a wolf, and that the hybrids (which are usually half hunter/half wolf, but occasionally wolf/human hybrids) are now after her it was just amazing. "Blood Bond" begins shortly after book 2. Tara is finishing up her school year and is anxiously preparing to go home for the summer. To make matters worse, she is struggling with her feelings for Alex. She knows his desire to go on patrol with Hunters to hunt down and kill the hybrids werewolves. Yet, she feels they desire the chance to chage their ways. When he confirms her suspicions, she then becomes fearfull she may not see him again. Upon saying their goodbyes Alex confesses his lover for her.

Tara's good friend Cambria has no where to go for the summer. Her mother is loced away in rehab so Tara insists she comes home with her. So when Tar's grandmother comes to pick her up, she also takes Cambria and Great-Aunt Vera home with her. On the road, Tara becomes ill and she cannot seem to understand what is going on. However, at this point she is desperate to get home so that she can try to protect her ex-boyfriend, George from becoming evil from a medically induced werewolf change. Her nemesis, Miles, had told her that her blood would be the key to saving George.However, she is hesistant to believe him.

When Tara gets home, she gets a surprise; her boyfriend, Wes, is back from his tracking trip. Due to the stiffling summer heat, Cambria, Wes,Tara and friends decide to go to a pond to go swimming. After exiting the pond they are attacked by a band of hybrids leaving fifteen year old Bailey. Everyone is devastated.

During the funeral, Tara takes George on the road to Nevada to find her great grand uncle to see if he can confimr whether or not her blood can save George. They manage to make it but not before they are once again attacked by hybrids. Tara is able to save George but now she faces a new threat. It seems there is a new baddy in town, Olivia and she wants Tara in the worst way. The questions is why?

In this installment, secrets will be revealed and Tara will finally have to accept who and what she is if the ones she love are to survive. As much as the storyline is compelling and the ending quite clever, I had major problems with the incessant and repetitive explanations by Tara to her family and friends. The first time understandable, the second time possibly okay, but the third and fourth time was just plain overkill and painful. I enjoyed this book but felt that it could have easily been shortened by about 70 pages or so due to the repetitious explanations and the boring science talk. That say a lot coming from me because usually I detest books that do not adequately explain key points. The bottom line, the beginning and end of this book was good but the middle was tedious. I hope that the next installment gets the series back on track.(less)

Such a good read! This entire series surprised me considering most free kindle downloads are poor. I read the first in one sitting, and the same goes for the second and now this one! I couldn't put it down and now I don't know what I'm going to do with myself until book 4 comes out!

Tara develops into a well rounded character during this novel and so much happens I think the only thing I can say is to read this novel instead of reading this review! Can't wait to see what happens in book 4

Shelves: 2012, book-i-won

Wow! To begin with this is not a trilogy so if you are like me hating to wait.. well you are gonna have to wait till 2013 to find out what happens next. Each book is getting better and better and I found myself barking at my own family so I could finish this book.

The ending is a cliff hanger and a decision maker. That's all I can say about that.

I did cry a couple of times during this book. Relationships change, family is pitted against each other, there is loss here too.

Man, the action never stops in this series! Every time Tara & Wes manage to conquer their problem, an even bigger one is right behind it. Never a dull moment! Blood Bond has the most exciting and creative plots, which make it the best book of the series. It's full of action, hybrids, betrayal, hybrids, love, hybrids, humor, oh and did I mention hybrids. *laughing* I love hybrids!!

Throughout the book Tara tries desperately to fight against what she is destined to become, but along with Wes, Alex, George, Cambria, and the rest of the gang she finally realizes that she IS the one destined to lead the Cause.

I loved this book, but I can't stand Alex, wrong thing done for the right reason is still the wrong thing. Too bad Alex is too stupid to know that. If Tara ends up with Alex I will never read this series again (I actually will read again, but I won't enjoy it as much)....DAMN YOU ALEX!!! GRRRR!!!! GO TEAM WES!!!

OMG! I can't believe all what happened in this novel. It was crazy and the ending has me wanting installment number four, right now! I mean how could Alex betray them all. It was scary and I hope Alex makes it, he is a favorite of mine. I can't wait to see where the author takes the next novel.

I am so excited for Aug. 31st!!

What a great book to this series! I really enjoyed Blood Bond with all its action and twists. And it does have a cliffhanger ending, but not one that has me screaming to know what the heck happens. It was one I could live with for now.

This book continues with Tara as she Continues to save her friends and find peace for wolves and hunters. And Of course there is the evil villians of craziness that she must figure out who is and how to defeat. There are a few great...more
