This book is well-worth a read. The connection to place is very strong, and I deeply appreciate the design to the characters. There are many conflicts that happen to the people in this engrossing novel, though it moves through those conflicts with so much ease that it strangely feels like there is a lack of conflict. No matter. The importance of this book for me is in the connections these people feel both for one another and the place where they live.
