This has GOT to be one of my favourite ET books EVER. It wasn't too long, so it didn't drag on and on and get extremely boring. It was quick, straight to the action and whole point of the book, packed with an exciting and gripping story and a cliffhanger ending to die for. What's not to like?

Ella James holds up her word to excite readers again. `Here` is a very interesting story of lonely teenage girl that stumbles across an unexpected friendship. Seventeen year old Milo is the average American lonely teenage girl that has lost her father to cancer and only ever sees her mother in passing. When one day she finds herself in the forest in her favorite tree house researching the deer something very strange happens. She sends a dart to tag one of the deer, but finds a guy there instead....more
Well, more like 3,5* but I'm feeling generous. :)
I actually wanted to read this book from Nick’s point of view which rarely happens to me. He had a little Bourne Identity going on and it was interesting to read but it wasn’t quite fully developed. He was very confused as he didn’t know what was going on and it pissed me off. I just wished they would figure things out sooner because I hate being in the dark. The romance part was nicely done up until the part where we find out what he is and why h...more

If you have read the Stained Series by Ella James you would be pretty familiar with her writing style. Not matter what the story is, James does a fantastic job on the imagery and story telling.
Here is about a girl named Milo Mitchell. Her dad passed away two years ago and ever since than she has sort of felt like she is looking from the outside in. She still hasn't really gotten over the loss and somethings tend to trigger off her emotions.

I’m not impressed with this book. It falls short of nearly ALL of my expectations.
READ THIS BOOK IF:
1. You like alien stories
2. You do not need any sort of character development
3. You aren’t bothered by the government being portrayed in a completely unrealistic way
WHAT I LIKED ABOUT THE BOOK:
1. I’m a sucker for aliens. Especially young-adult-full-of-angst-hot-guy aliens. That right there was the whole reason I bought this book in the first place. I was intrigued. Nick had the whole “young-adult-...more

I reviewed this book for Young Adult and Teen Readers. Hearing the name, I was excited. I've heard of Ella James but had not yet read any of her work, and given the fact that I haven't read any YA lately, I was ready to give it a go.
The book did start out a little choppy. We open with the heroine and her friends at a sleepover waking up and talking about going to play paintball and who was going to shoot who in the nuts for being a cheater. Funny, but for someone like me who doesn't do well with...more

Ella James has done it again! Lord I can't even begin to tell you how excited I am to be a part of this tour and to read another book by Ella just blew me away! This story starts out with Milo having a little bit of a breakdown and she shuts the world out. She spends her time in her tree house with a tranquilizer gun just watching the deer go by. Then one day she accidentally shoots a deer and that deer becomes a human. Frightened but intrigued Milo takes this stranger home.

I really enjoyed this book. Although I am an avid reader, this was the first book I have read by Ella James. I will definitely be back for more!! In this book, a girl named Milo deals with the loss of her father by taking on a project he had been working on before his death- tracking deer. One day when she is out tracking them, she shoots a sedative dart at a fawn. When she goes to see the deer, there is a boy (Nick) in a tuxedo in the spot where the fawn was and the dart is stuck in him. He has...more
After her dad died, Milo took over his hobby of tagging and tracking deer. She wasn’t really supposed to continue his endeavors but it helps her stay ‘close’ to him, if that makes sense. One afternoon, she finds the fawn she’s been looking for. She aims her tranquilizer gun, takes the shot, but then something very strange happens. Instead of the deer simply falling, as it should have, a flash of golden light radiated through the trees. It was a few moments before the initial shock wore off, but...more
Wow, this was a great story. I wonder how I missed this author but when I got a hold of this book, I found an author that I knew I was going to follow from here on out. I enjoyed her writing style and the flow of this story. Because I don’t want to share any spoilers, I’m going to give as little detail as possible, but this story will surprise you of the outcome so you have to read it to find it out yourself.

I liked this book. Though it was a little slow at first it soon picks up. This was a first for me I have not read these kinds of Ya books before (I won’t tell you what kind it will rune the book) but it did leave me wanting to know the rest of the story. The ending was a bit abrupt. I think it could have ended in a better spot because it was just cut off. But I would defiantly recommend it to a friend. It was a great story and like I said I will read the others to find out what happened.

Wow, I loved this book, and when I say Loved, I mean in the same way I Love the Lux series by Jennifer L Armentrout. This is right up there with that one! I want to keep this as spoiler free as I can, as part of the great excitement in reading this was not knowing, like back in the day, before Twilight got big, and I had read it, not knowing anything but my daughter saying its g...more

Milo Mitchell is living an unremarkable existence. After the death of her beloved father she takes up his hobby of tagging deer. There is not much for her to do on the weekends now that her and her friends are growing apart. Sitting in her tree house she sets her mark on an untagged deer. She rarely misses. This time though she manages to shot a guy. How in the world did this happen? How did a gorgeous guy dressed in a tuxedo manage to get between Milo and her target?

The story pulled me in from the first sentence. I was a child with a tire swing as I grabbed on and ran with the wind in my hair and there I was – with Milo in the woods. Ella James has a talent that so many try to duplicate and this is just my first book. I will find your other books and consume those as well.

I am going to start this review by saying I was blown away!! I LOVED it...I didn't want to put it down(although there were a few moments that I had to...UGH!!)...Totally mesmerized by it....Ella James has done a fantastic job creating a unique urban fantasy that everyone can jump in to and find themselves completely wrapped up in Milo and Nick!

In this book we meet Milo, her dad has passed away and she is struggling with it. She lies to allot of people so she can go out into the woods and do the things her and her dad would do together. They would tag deer and collect information on them. While out in the woods tagging the deer with a tag gun she goes to shoot a young dear but instead of shooting the dear she ends up shooting a boy about the same age as her who is walking through the woods. When she went to see how he was and if she ha...more

I have to say the beginning of this book I was a tad skeptical as to whether I would like this book or not. The first few pages for me were extremely confusing, but after a little while the book the story line was so compelling the confusing didn't seem to matter.
Milo Mitchell's life is anything if not ordinary. She's in high school with a few close friends she's had since forever who all seem to be moving in different directions. One day while Milo is on her trip to tag one of th...more

I have to say that this is one of my favorite Sci-Fi fiction books I have read. The characters are very relatable. The story is about Milo who is recovering from her father's death and trying to find a place in the world. She does so by continuing her father's research on the deer population. That is where she meets a mysteriously hot guy who by accident she shoots with a tranquilizer dart gun. He doesn't remember anything about what happened before or after he got shot by Milo. They go on a jou...more
Two words, It Rocked! Well during my hurricane experience I was alone in the dark with my Nook and I chose to read Here. Boy I am glad I made that choice. Here is a very engaging Sci Fi novel that you don't want to miss. You can't help but get lost in the world of Nick and Milo.
I kept wondering 'Who is this guy?' and 'What will happen?'
I delved into it and was so glad I had it with me as the storm pounded my hometown. It distracted me as Hurricane Sandy beat up the East Coast.

HERE opens with a scene between high school friends in the home of the main character, Milo Mitchell, who lives on a large piece of property in Golden, Colorado. I’ll just take a moment here to mention that I lived in Wheat Ridge, Colorado which bumps up against Golden, for several years – so this was a nice surprise. I know Golden, I know where the Wal-Mart is, and I could totally picture the King Soopers down on Youngfield. So that was weird, but in a good...more

What an imaginative and unexpected story. Talk about being drawn in...I really loved Here. Milo is a quirky, fun and interesting character. She gets under your skin immediately. And Nick? Wow! He's the type of character you "have to know", yet he remains an exotic mystery for a good portion of the book.
Once things get moving, your mind starts racing and calculating, just like Milo's, trying to find your footing and getting to the root of what was happening. I had a few ideas right away, but Ell...more

This book was given to me as a gift in exchange of an honest review. This was a fun read, it kept me guessing on what would happen next, what Nick the male lead might be, and let me tell you certainly not what I expected!!! Eeeiiiiishhh...It seems like only me who didn't like this book.
How to describe why? Hmmmm....
At the beginning, I was excited to read this book. First, the cover is quite cool and the story seems to be quite different from other books in the market now. This book is talking about aliens. It reminds me of Roswell series by Melinda Metz.
So I just want to say that I liked the idea.
However, the execution falls short of my expectation.

I instatly new it was different frmo my normal reads but as I had seriously enjoyed Stained by Ms. James and was truly sad that book two isn't out yet I wanted to give it a try. Milo kept me in stitches for the first majority of the book whihc is probably why I didn't find it slow. Then I kept wondering what exactly was going on with Nick and where he came from.
