It's not everyone's cup of tea, but I rather like old Home Economics manuals. This vintage 1943 one includes the usual fashion tips, sewing and washing information, household and child care advice, that same tired old anti-high-heels diagram of the Leaning Tower of Person, and a rather cute discussion of the salient fashion points of WAC, WAVE, Marine, and SPAR uniforms.
