Never fear the pain. Fear what lies behind it…

Grimm’s Circle, Book 6

In his mortal life, the only thing Jacob liked better than money was a good brawl—until he stuck his fist into the wrong fight, and a demon sent him spinning into a new life as a Grimm.

Now, a hundred years later, he’s been called to protect someone too much like himself. A woman who could let the chains of

I was fortunate to receive an ARC of Grimm Tidings, the sixth book in the Grimm's Circle series. I love Ms. Walker's gritty twist on fairy tales, and have followed the series as each one has been released. You won't get any spoilers from me, but I can tell you that the main characters are unstoppable, kick ass fighters who feel they don't need help from each other or anyone else. Grimm Tidings is gritty urban fantasy and paranormal romance that isn't for the faint of heart. It's a story of two p ...more

Another great Grimm Fairy Tale by Shiloh Walker.

Review:
Jacob knows a thing or two about the chains of the past. How that harder you hang on to them the worst your future will be. It has taken him over 200 years to learn to deal with his past mistakes. While not perfect he now has to help the newest baby Grimm deal with hers.

Celine can not let go over her past. She has regretted the choices she has made for the last 4 years. But it will take almost losing everything in her life for a second tim

Grimm Tidings is another fabulous story by Shiloh Walker and is a great addition to the Grimm Circle series. The fairy tale this time around, or a classic if will, was a story I'm familiar with and has been told in various forms, but I really loved seeing this other side. I'm not going to tell you want the story is because honestly that's half the fun. I love trying to figure out which story was used and I can't wait to see what Walker has in store for us with the eighth novel, Blind Destiny. If ...more

3 1/2 stars "Grimm Tidings" by Shiloh Walker is a novella which is book 6 of her `Grimm's Circle' series that centers around the brave men and women who act as guardian angels for humans and destroy the demons that have entered the mortal world. They can be identified by the mystical silver medallion with upswept wings that each wears. Each Grimm has horrors and baggage from his or her background but most have learned to sublimate their issues and transfer that energy into becoming an expert fig ...more

I was sent a copy of Grimm Tidings from the author with a promise to do an honest review. I'll preface anything else with the fact I'm a huge fan of Shiloh Walker's work. I realized before I started reading Grimm Tidings, I haven't read all of the Grimm books, but had no trouble keeping up with the storyline and think it read well as a stand-alone. I do plan on going back and reading the couple I missed.

Shiloh gives her readers strong and emotional characters with each story. Celine's past and h

The first Grimm book I read was Locked in Silence, which I thoroughly enjoyed. So when Shiloh offered up the chance to read Grimm Tidings, I jumped all over it. The Grimm series tells the stories of people who have become guardian angels after a terrible tragedy has befallen them. They fight demons and watch over the innocent even while dealing with some their own issues that they've carried over from their pasts - romance, angst, and action? Oh yes, sign me up. Over and over and over... (I have ...more

I must admit that I judged this book by its cover before I ever read it. With such a yummy hottie on the cover all wrapped in chains, I simply couldn't resist. I was pleasantly surprised with this story because it touches on not only my love for a good romance novel, but also my love for classic literature. The story is part of the Grimm's Circle Series and introduces us to a Grimm named Jacob. Grimm's are somewhat like guardian angels. They are technicall

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what I was in for going in to this book. I have read other titles by Shiloh Walker and loved them, but never read any of the others in this series. Mind you, I have them sitting in my TBR pile, I just hadn't gotten that far. I've heard authors say that their series books can be read alone and not in order and, when I tried, it didn't work. I'm normally huge on reading order. With this book, I just didn't have the time to do that so, I took Miss Walker at her word. I

First Line - “You can chase death a little too closely.” Death was no stranger to the Grimm—men and women who dealt with the demons who managed to cross over into the mortal world. The three men stood there, staring down over the edge of the building into the alley below, watching the bloody, brutal battle taking place. Will—their leader—watched the woman closely. Few others knew him by any other name. Their leader was rather closed-mouthed, especially about himself.
I think this opening give you

First Half More Grim than Grimm
They lived as humans. They died as legends. They returned as guardians. They are Grimm...

Jacob knew as soon as he saw Celine that she was his. Unfortunately, even after four years as a Grimm, guardian angels who fight the demons threatening humanity, all Celine knows is agony over her loss and regret for the choice she made to become one of them. And she fights like she's more than ready to rectify that mistake.

Their ever-freaky leader Will wants Jacob to take over

When I hear “Grimm” I think of “the Brothers Grimm” and their fairy Tales. It is said all fairy tales, folk lore, and legends are based in part on a true story. Shiloh Walker has a way of putting her spin on some of our favorites. I am always excited to try and figure out WHO the characters are supposed to be.

Shiloh’s “Grimm” are Guardian Angels out to save Innocents from falling into the hands of Demons. They may be Angels, but they are tough, ass-kicking, out for blood, and usually have a brut

Grimm Tidings is the 6th book in Shiloh Walker's series about the "Grimm",who are guardian angels sent to protect humans from the parasei demons. The story centers around Jacob and Celine,.They each carry a heavy amount of baggage from their past lives. In the case of Celine, she just wants it all to end,so she fights in hopes of just ending it all.Jacob is assigned as her trainer as she is just a "baby Grim".I enjoyed how these two came together and the dialogue between them.As usual with Ms Walke ...more

3.5 good read and series
This is book 6 of the Grimm's Circle series and each book takes a new twist on a fairytale. Now each book can be stand alone, but I find it helpful to read the series in order because of recurring characters and events. In Grimm Tidings we get an interesting take on Jacob from A Christmas Carole. Without giving away toomuch of the story Celine has become a Grimm, but because of regrets from the past what she really wants is to forget it all. In walks Jacob brought in to t

Celine is a baby Grimm who doesn't care if she lives or dies. Plagued by her guilt and what “could have been”, has made her a fierce fighter, but has also caused plenty of trainers to not want to work with her. On her path of self-destruction, one demon take-down at a time, she gets saddled with Jacob, not that that is a bad thing per se. Jacob is no different from Celine in the respect that he too has chains to the past and has been riding the guilt train for 200 years, but Celine brings out a ...more

Sometimes, you just have to let the past go, and not worry about what might have been. Celine’s biggest problem is that she hasn’t been able to let go of what was, so she fights demons as a Grimm for all the wrong reasons. She's worked with almost every available trainer, and Will hasn't found one able to reach her to help her move on. When she's paired with Jacob, will he be the one who can, finally, help her make the break with the

I love the idea of bringing facets of fairy tales alive. This book was a great mixture of paranormal pieces sown together into a fantastic story. I haven't read the other Grimm stories, so I'm not sure what information I'm missing from the ones before it. But, even without reading them this worked completely as a stand alone book.

The characters were wonderfully deep. I love Rob, the weirdo that he is. The story is fast paced and even though you could see the love at the end of the tunnel there

This is the first book I have read in the Grimm series. When I received it, I was told that it could be read as stand alone. That I would still be able to understand. I will have to say that this was very true. I greatly enjoyed it. It was interesting and I enjoyed the characters. This series is a must read for me now.

Loved It!!!! Grimm books are some of my favorites because I like to try and match them up with the fairy tales :)

This one was very interesting and brought out some new information that has me curious.
Celine is an awesome and kickass heroine!!!

This series just keeps getting better! I really liked this one, and you don't have to wait til the end to find out who Jacob's "fairy tale character" is! Very good book and I hope there are more to come!

Terrific read even if you haven't read the previous books. Kickass heroine, awesome hero, great secondary characters. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is because I wanted it to be longer.

another great read. i love that shiloh keeps you guessing as to which fairy tale you are reading about.
