ANGEL ON FIRE is a thriller loaded with sexual tension without being too overtly about the sex. Angela is glad to have Chase on her side, especially after he saves her life several times from the start. She’s also wildly attracted to him. He tries, and succeeds for quite awhile, at suppressing his attraction to Angela because she’s his bosses goddaughter and his assignment. Both make her off limits. Another good reason not to get involved? Oh yeah, maybe the people trying to kill them. Of course...more

This is my first public review so if I make a faux-pax or two I apologize.

I absolutely fell in love with the storyline of this book. Former Navy SEAL falls hard for FBI Analyst, what could be better? It's hard to go wrong with a plot like this. I found an immediate connection with the Chase and Angela and enjoyed following them through their relationship. Action packed emotion drew me in and had me excited to see the outcome.

The mechanics of the story fell a little flat. I found myself scratchin...more

This book had a few mistakes such as missed words. I almost stopped reading it. I’m glad I didn’t. This book was very good, and the plot was intriguing.

Angelia’s father had passed away. She had to uncover clues to find out if he was murdered. And if so, who did it, and why. Her protective uncle Zach had sent Chase to protect her. Chase, and Angelia fell for each other while trying to hide from the danger that followed them. This book had action, suspense, the mob, explosions, and romance. Don’t...more

Working for the FBI as an analyst turned out to be more than just a desk job when Angela McKenzie becomes a prime suspect for threats against national security. Now the very people she was working for are hunting, but so are some very dangerous terrorists bent on obtaining information that could paralyze the economy. The problem is that Angela has no idea what any of them want from her and it seems the only person she can trust is a handsome stranger with a great sense of timing. Investigating t...more

Not a bad read, not a great read. This was a fast-paced suspense romance. Without going into too much of the story: Angela Mckenzie, an FBI desk operative (not an agent), learns that her father has passed away. Her father, Mac, was actually murdered for protecting a secret. Turns out that Mac has trusted his daughter to keep the information safe. If only he had told Angela what she was supposed to be protecting and how to do it, and therein lies the mystery.

Here's what I had problems with:

Review Written for www.books-n-kisses.com

First let me say this is the first book written by Johnson and I can not wait until the next book to come out! I was surprised how much I enjoyed this book!

Angela’s father recently died of what they are saying is a heart attack but Angela does not believe that. So many things seem suspicious about what was going on and when she starts getting threatening phone calls and too close for comfort accidents she thinks she may be right that something is going on...more

I don't know about you but if a book is good, while I am reading it, it is playing out in my head like a movie and I can honestly say I enjoyed the book, Angel on Fire by Jacquie Johnson. The book started off with a bang and just kept going til the last page. The characters were well-written and kept me interested in them. I was rooting for Angela and Chase throughout the entire book, the way they spoke to eachother was honest and believable. When I wanted t...more

Where to start with this , I rarely give reviews to 2 star reads but i felt the author needed this critique . This needs a decent amount of work for it to be as good as i thought it was gonna be . The leads weren't right meaning the heroine wasn't a bad ass , he was just normal . He cannot be normal and be painted as a military type guy that does secret work for the government . This just contradicts his whole personality . The heroine was dumb and whiny IMO , she cried for everything and for so...more

At the risk of sounding like I am repeating other reviews, I loved this book! I absolutely could not put it down until it was finished. Jacquie had me hooked at the break-in.

FBI Analyst “Angel” suddenly now finds herself orphaned from the one man most girls can rely on, her father. Not accepting his death as it was, she puts the skills her father had ingrained in her and her FBI training to the test all while grieving her greatest loss. With the events that come after her father’s death, it is a...more

Angel on Fire will have you sitting on the edge of your seat with the action and steamy make out scenes. Angela is having the week from hell. Her father randomly dies from a heart attack, she’s forced to take a leave of absence from her job, said job has her under investigation, she almost gets hit by a car, her father’s business partner is acting really strange, and she is being followed and threatened. If that’s not enough, she is wildly attracted to Chase and he keeps throwing mixed signals s...more

Okay. Since my review was completely wiped out (stupid internet!!), I will keep it short. I'm still surprised and confused at all the glowing reviews and I'm wondering if we all read the same book...

Angela--immature, dense, stomps, pouts, whines, makes stupid decisions that puts her life at risk, annoying. It is impossible she is with the FBI. No. Cannot be. She is completely unaware of how her decisions could affect herself or others.

Chase--meat-head hunk who demands, orders Angela around, and...more

This was a fabulous beach read especially since I got it as a freebie. Great book to sit back enjoy in an afternoon. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much but the story really drew me in. Jacquie Johnson kept a fanastic pace throughout the book combining suspense with a nice love story. Although her main character was a bit tempestuous (guessing the Angel in the title refers to Angela with her firey demeanor), this flaw was what made her so captivating. Trying to solve her father's murder while stil...more

I absolutely loved this book! The only daughter of a security consultant finds herself alone in the middle of the suspicious circumstances surrounding her father's death. Soon she finds that someone is after her for reason's unknown. Soon a mysterious stranger appears who promises he has been sent to protect her. The former military man turned private security consultant makes a believable hero. His dedication the heroine's virtue can be a little tiring because the reader believes that these two...more

Angel on Fire was a very very good read. I thought the author had a well thought out plot. A very sexy hero and a spunky but yet a little bit confused heroine. With her father suddenly dead of a heart attack, Angel is bewildered about his apparent cause of death and goes about trying to find out exactly what happened. She is completely believable as a FBI analyst who, at times, has a little bit of trouble keeping it together. After all, her father just passed away. I usually can guess who is the...more

Jacquie Johnson's first novel as far as I know, and I loved it. The heroine is smart and independent but yet she's not so stubborn that she doesn't recognize when she makes a mistake or when she needs help. Chase is an ex-SEAL working undercover for the government, who is asked to keep a watch on Angela as she finds herself in the middle of murder and national security through no fault of her own. Angela has lost her father, and doesn't know who to trust. Their attraction builds as they lean on...more

Angel on Fire for me was a book that I enjoyed reading but I am not sure it is one that I would revisit again. Angela was dealing with her father's death, questions surrounding his death and the cause, his shady business partner, someone trying to hurt her and her being investigated at her job. Enter Chase, an ex Navy SEAL who works for her Godfather and is asked as a favor to him to keep and eye on her and keep her safe, which of course leads to them getting together. I have nothing personally...more

Pretty good story. Only complaints would be overuse of "babe" by our dashing hero and the jarring/abrupt writing at times. In 2-3 sentences they would begin to make out, lie back satiated and move forward a few hours or begin a conversation and the next sentence made me fell like I missed something. Seemed like a new paragraph should have started or something. It happens a few times but I still enjoyed the story. Epilogue has that same abrupt ending. After the last sentence I went to turn the pa...more

I could not put thise book down. I love a good romantic suspense story, and this did not let me down! Chase is sent to keep an eye on Angela after her father's mysterious death and unexpected message to his old friend Zach. I was glad that Chase did not have to watch from the shadows for too much of the book. I will admit that it was a little strange that she automaticly trusted him, but it kept that story at a nice, fast pace so I can easily overlook that. All in all, a great that end me rivete...more

I really enjoyed this suspense romance story.
I enjoyed Angela and Chase. They were so right for one another and enjoyed the getting to know you, the cat/mouse chase with them... I really enjoyed this book. I have not read anything else from you,but will def be doing so in the future! :)

Chase and Angela were likable characters, although they relationship progressed rather awkwardly. Liked the story plot and twists, although the ending was obvious and it was frustrating waiting for the characters to get there. A little tame for my tastes. Numerous typos.

I cannot believe how many people on Good Reads have rated this book highly. It's full of lame stereotypes and worn out plots. The sex scenes were bland at best and the whole thing is riddled with editing errors. I won't be reading anymore of this series.

Read this due to the fact that it took place around Boston. Was shocked to find it was centered in the next town over. It kept me reading but wish it had a little more substance to it. Good for the beach...even Singing Beach.

Great story by Jacquie Johnson. The story had lots of suspense and a good storyline . . . and the characters were very likeable. Could have used a little more steamy romance scenes but the love story was very heartwarming!

Nothing believable, doesn't spark the imagination, romance not very interesting, do not recommend
