The Cloudmages fantasy saga continues...

DAW continues the "vividly depicted" (Publishers Weekly) epic series that began with Holder of Lightning. Mage of Clouds: The Cloudmages #2 opens 17 years after the end of Holder of Lightning. Jenna MacEagan has been Banrión since the end of the devastating war with the other Tuatha, and an uneasy peace has held. But now Jenna's d

Wasn't sure I'd like the generational gap but indeed I did.

Not entirely keen on the continuing fued between Jenna and her half brother but I guess I'll live. We'll see if it's continuation in the next book is more annoying to me.

Great book and Great series!

This book like the first took a while to get started. I really got into this one. This one was a lot better than the first. A lot more adventure she experiences. Jenna becomes pregnant and gets married to another man, after the death of the father.

I don't like her brother. He should be loyal to his sister and he should protect her. He's one of them trying to steal the stone away from her. By the end of the book I want him dead. I'm sick of him at this point. He's just like his father. I don't li

I didn't jump right into this book after reading the first. These epic fantasies are exhausting in their own way. I liked this one as much as the first even though the main focus shifted from Jenna to her daughter Meriel. I liked Meriel and look forward to seeing her in the third installment of this series. My only criticism was that in the twenty years that passed between the settings of the first and second books, Jenna didn't seem to have any growth. She didn't seem to apply the lessons she s ...more

Wonderful capturing story. Mage of Clouds moved a lot faster than the previous book and it was far more enjoyable

This book has most of the main characters from Holder of Lightning and introduces many others. The story focuses on Meriel, Jenna's daughter, and the continuance of the Lamh Shabhala and the Cloch Mors.

The story is full of heartfelt emotions from many of the main characters. Jenna, the first holder, was not as annoying as she was in book 1.

I enjoyed this one immensely and would love

Book gets off to a slow start. When I got to the 5th Chapter, which is a series of adolescent love letters, I closed the book and gave up since I had lost patience with the book. However, I gave the book a second chance, and it soon became an enticing page-turning read again, almost as good as the first.

I'll say it was better than the 1st one simply because the writing seemed smoother. Better or not, I am thoroughly enjoying this series. Like the 1st, this book can be read by itself, but will be better read in series. order.

Worse than the first one - I stopped reading the series half way through this book.
