Eli and Tabby have plans for their lives, and it doesn't involve falling in love. Their journey takes place on a film set in New Zealand. What I Learned:

- is that I think I had a perma-smile on my face the entire time I was reading this.
- is that Ms. Robertson can create wicked good characters. I loved them immensely and couldn't wait to learn more about them. They had a depth and realism that you don't always see in romance.
- is that Ms. Robertson does a really good contemporary romance. She added the perfect amount of humour, angst, and the *happy sigh* at the end was just wonderful...

There is only one word to describe this book, two actually: bloody brilliant!!! I love Tabby and Eli's story to pieces. The fact that in the end Eli is sacrificing LA to be with the woman he loves is totally romantic. My favorite scenes was the one in the glade. It was totally different and a unique twist on a picnic. I loved it so much.

I read this in manuscript -- so happy to see it published now! KISS AND MAKE UP is a sweet, funny story of an unforgettable stuntman hero -- the manly, kind-hearted Eli -- and his affair with Tabby, his makeup artist. They have great chemistry, and the banter between them is hilarious. A quirky, fun contemporary!

This was such a fun read!!!! Eli is a very HOT stuntman, performing in a movie that Tabby is doing the make-up for. There is an instant attraction, that they both try to deny, because of goals they have in their professional careers. They don't want to give up there dreams. This was an excellent surprise, and from a new author. Great dialog always does it for me and this book had such a witty one from start to finish that it goes to my Favorites shelf. But if anyone decides to read it, my advice is to skip the first 2 love scenes so the reading is not ruined– they were truly lame. Oh my! Eli Black is sex packaged into a hot stunt man's body!

I LOVED this story and was glued to every word written! At first I wanted to read the story because of Eli being a stunt man and I suspected he'd be a sexy character to read...and damn, I wasn't disappointed. He not only had a humorous side that I simply drooled over, but he was sweet at times and held a dominant side that made my body temperature rise!

This is my first Faye Robertson book, but if all her books are this good, then i think that I can add a new author to my favorites list. I loved this book. "Kiss and Make Up" is a sweet story filled with warmth, laughter and fun characters.

I absolutely loved the New Zealand setting. Ms. Robertson did a fantastic job on describing locations and giving a great insight into the film-making process.

Kiss and Make Up is the first book I have read by Faye Robertson, and I promise it will not be my last. I am a sucker for a romance book where there is a geographical conflict. I think it’s the sacrifice aspect that gets me so intrigued. That is the theme of this book, and boy did she nail it.

Tabby has landed an amazing job as the make-up artist on the set of a movie. Her plans are simple. Finish this job and then head off to the UK on a full ride scholarship to a prestigious makeup school. She has already given up one opportunity at this school to stay with the man she thought she loved. That is until she caught him in bed with someone else. She promised herself to never give up her dreams for someone else.

Eli is a stunt man on the set where Tabby is working. His plans are simple. Finish this job and then head to LA to make a name for himself in the movie industry. He made a promise to his brother on his death bed that he would follow his dreams and make it big in Hollywood.

Eli and Tabby have an incredible connection to one another from the start. She is understanding about his career choice and doesn’t try to hold him back. He is someone that she can be honest and crazy with. There is lots of humor in the dialog between these two that really add an additional spark to the story. They have amazing sexual chemistry and when they hook up, they ignite.

As these two spend more time together they realize there is much more to their relationship than just a fling until their movie job is finished. As I mentioned before, the geographical issue comes into play. I have read a lot of books with this theme, and I must say this is one of the best. It was written with so much emotion I could feel the confusion and conflict they were both experiencing. At times I just didn’t see how this would ever work out for them. They are both such headstrong characters devoted to their own futures. It’s a real page turner trying to figure out how they can conquer their dreams and their love for one another.

If you like a book full of compelling characters a convincing plot and gripping passion, this is for you!

Awesome way to open a book, don’t you think? ^_^ It’s a great representation of the charm and wit displayed repeatedly throughout Kiss and Make Up. The premise of this contemporary romance promised a fun, flirty tale starring two magnetic personalities. Makeup actually does not factor all that heavily into this story–in a direct way, that is. That element is involved via the fact that the heroine is a makeup artist who is talented and focused on fulfilling the immense promise of her career trajectory. But Kiss and Make Up absolutely delivers in setting up a warm and breezy romantic tale.

The personalities of the two main characters are easy and enjoyable. I so adored Eli and Tabby as individuals. They were painted as intelligent, sharp, interesting, ambitious, and logical. I recall at one point digging one of the heroine’s ponderings:

Was it possible to fall in love in such a short space of time?

I loved that the character (and by extension, the author), acknowledges this atypical situation as worthy of being specifically examined. It’s just one of many moments that made the Tabby and her crew believable to me, even in the context of a whirlwind romantic tale. Robertson creates very realistic and relatable characters with understandable feelings and behaviors. I got that feeling that I would *love* to be their friends, that they are the kind of people that you could truly meet and connect with. The author deftly touches upon their playful sides, their emotional turmoil, their fears and passions.

Indeed, the story is not over complicated. It’s driven forward by a clear, tightly framed plot line. It was such a breath of fresh air to have a romantic entanglement that did not involve silly, manufactured misunderstandings to build tension. Instead, the dilemmas that develop for each of the two main characters are logical, introduced with just enough sentiment and demonstration to leave a lasting impact. The author manages to make the reader truly *feel* the frustration that the main characters do, yet understand and appreciate the complexity of life and its occasional messiness and inconvenience.

And the steamy aspect? Wow. The attraction between Tabby and Eli is immediate and undeniable. Their interactions are absolutely incendiary while simultaneously being sweet and romantic. Each and every romantic encounter had a smoldering, sensual feel that served also to underscore the genuine affection that the two had for each other. I personally love it when a romance is truly spicy *and* sweet, and when the narrative is visual and tactile enough to draw that out to the max. This book absolutely delivered on those accounts.

I think I had this book rated as a four at one point, but rethought and had to adjust, because there is just nothing I dislike about this book. Okay, that’s a lie. I took very minor exception to one of Tabby’s actions near the end of the book, even though objectively I understood the reasoning behind the character’s decision. This particular action drove the story to the end that any reader would’ve come to expect, but I felt it ever so slightly out of sync with the legitimate convictions Tabby’d had previously. Though ultimately, it all just goes to show how much I cared about Tabby by that point to really want to stand up on her behalf! ^_^

I must make note that the book is set in various towns in New Zealand, and the author writes the setting as a wonderfully lush, inviting place. It certainly shows care for the balance between characters, plot, and settings…the last of which is not often a top consideration in contemporary romances.(less)

Hot hero, likable heroine, fun banter, sizzling sex scenes all add up to a fab read. I really enjoyed reading Kiss and Make Up and fell in love with the characters and couldn't wait for them to get their HEA.

Who knew a stunt man could be so sexy and charming? I just loved Eli and especially loved both his and Tabby's emotional paths they took to be with each other.

I dare you to read this book and not finish it with a contented sigh :)

Nice characters, good story, I really liked. Some small problems here and there, but it was well written. Not long and boring monologues, a stale plot and slow speed like most of the Contemporary Romance around. Ms Robertson showed how those two fell in love with a sweetness and light teasing that made me smile all the time (and I have the sore facial muscles to prove!).
I'm definitely becoming a fan!

Quick, breezy read, perfect for a chilly Saturday afternoon. The protagonists were likable, the romance sexy, and the setting was interesting. Some of the deeper issues motivating the characters felt a little flat, but overall, I enjoyed this fun book.
