I loved this book just like the last one. Lucky seems to have a knack for getting in over his head when he tries to help. The way that the author gives the extra details and the sincerity he uses as he ties in the emotions. Like with continuing to help Diane even after he had done what he had told her parents. Mona's involvement makes it even more real and captivation. Oh, and the nagging feelings that Lucky has about being just the doting grandfather is so cute. Along with his dog and how he is ...more

This was a really interesting book. It was not my favorite, but it was okay. It had some foul language in it, so that wasn’t the best. It still kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what happens next.

I really liked the characters in this book. The detective guy was really cool, and I liked the way he spoke to some possible witnesses. I honestly thought he would not find the girl, but in the end, he did. I thought it would have been a lot harder to find the girl, but he made it look ea

Lucas is a retired cop from Pasadena now living in the San Francisco area. He gets a call from the Bergers. They want him to find their missing daughter, Diane. Only problem is she is eighteen and an adult. Lucas does it anyway and that's where things go wrong.

If you're a fan of Robert Parker's Spencer novels, you will enjoy Mark Gummere. His style of writing is very similar including the one liners, shady sidekicks and simple whodunits. Gummere's detective, Lucky Lucas, also lives by his own moral code.

Pretty good book. I felt like I knew something about the main character in the book, but that I hadn't learned much about the rest of the characters. I think a little more filling out of them may have helped me to enjoy the book more.

I liked Lucky Lucas. He has a personal life with Mona and his son and family. He cares about Diane's feeling, not just what her parents want.

ok. liked the character of Lucky and his girl Mona. Could use better editing. Typos were distracting at times. Would read other books with Lucky

Very good story. Marred by poor editing. I know it was a free e-book, but come on.
