Pickle things we never see
Like pickles on a pickle tree!
This is just a book of silly things (that are pickles) that we never, ever see. "We never see a pickle walk. We never hear a pickle talk."
The illustrations are what sell the book, with the grimaces the kids make as they try to stomach things like pickle cake, or deal with pickle hair.
This is an easy reader book, and sure to be funny enough to capture even the most reluctant child.

I absolutely loved this book when I was little (that explains why I loved to make jokes with pickles in them when I was younger lol). I was sad to learn a couple of months ago, after watching an old tape of my grandparents read this book to me, that my mom had gotten rid of it sometime in the past 10 years :*(

This is a very silly book to read with young children! It imagines what things would be like if they were made of pickles. I read it every year to my Kindergarten classes and my First Grade classes and it was guaranteed fun and laughs! It could spark some very creative writing or illustrations.

Mr. Ogle gave me this pickle treat. He said his kids loved it when they were my kids age, so I read it to them twice tonight. They loved it.
Now I just have to let them try pickles. I bet they're glad there's not a "Tripe Things" book.

A treasured favorite. It seems there is one special book that stands out for each one of my kids and this is one of them. Easy rhyming and silly pictures caused lots of giggling.

a silly book for pickle lovers (my daughter and I love dill pickles). I will actually pick up this humorous book when feeling down, and it always gives me a chuckle or two!

This was one of our favorites when we were young. I recently found that my mom still had it on the shelf. I couldn't help but sit and read it again.

this was one of my favourite books! i had it memorized and would correct any changes to the story line. (I must have been annoying.)

Can't wait for my pickle storytime and this book holds a place in it. Fun title shows all the things that pickles are not.

I use to love pickles so much that I too wish that my mothers car would turn into a pickle. Note: when I was a kid. ha ha ha

One of my favorite books as a kid (probably stemming from my love of pickles!), and now one of Natalie's favorites too!

Fabulous children's book. So good in fact, that I remember it from when I was a young child. I'd like to find a copy for my kids (when I eventually have them).

Definitely one of the most memorable books from my childhood! I thought my copy was lost forever, but it turned up a few years ago. :)

So fun to read childhood books. This wasn't one in our library growing up. Thanks for sharing, Kristin. We loved it!
