Dammit Tim!!! WHY does this one have to be even better than the first series??!!! Now I have to wait......... Ok, so I really love the whole Kiera Hudson series, great story, great characters, continually intriguing plot, just all around really good and different. I love this book, though I'm still uncertain where Mr. O'Rourke is planning to go with this series because it sort of goes back to the basics. I fell in love with Kiera because she can see and solve crimes, she is a walking CSI which never ceases to amaze me. Kiera Hudson and crew are back again & better than ever!! Once again Tim O'Rourke takes us on a bloody-thrill ride that will keep you up late into the nite unable to pry your eyes away from your Kindle!! I will never understand how he comes up with this stuff but boy am I glad he does, you will not find anything else like it out there.

What a great start to the 2nd series, thankfully we don't have to wait too long for the release of the next title in the series as Tim amazingly writes so quick which is great when you get hooked and you just want the next one. After series 1 I wondered where it was going to go with this one and I would never have guessed that the gang would end up dead because when that happens that's usually it end of story but not for these guys as you'll find out. A place where everything seems to be off just a little. And the worst part? In this world the wolves have taken over. They're no longer the stuff of myths and fairy tales, no they are very real and the humans live in fear of them.

Kiera and the gang do what they do best, and stand up to the bat to take on this world head first, determined to set it right. The question is can they do it without getting themselves killed...again?

So when I first found out that Tim was doing a spin off series using most of the same characters I wasn't sure how that was going to work. But all I can say is it works in a way that only Tim O'Rourke can pull off! This book turned out to be amazing!! Now I will say that in the beginning it was a little slow to start and I started to think this was going to be the same as the first series which made me a little discouraged, but I stuck it out and I was sooooooooo glad that I did!

For one thing it was nice to see Kiera & Potter embrace their relationship and work together. I mean sure they had their spats, like we know the will because hello this is Potter we are dealing with, but they finally seem to accept that they lovers and nothing will come between that. It was nice to see the softer side of Potter when he was dealing with Kiera. I can't wait to see their relationship grow even more, and dare I say...go on a real date? Lol

We also get a closer look into Kayla with half of the chapters being told from her POV. I have always like Kayla and I am so glad we get to know her better. I really hope we get to keep Sam. (a boy that likes her) I would love to see her find some happiness and someone that can finally accept her for her after everything that she's lost in her life.

Overall this was a great start to this spin off series! Plenty of action and new twists that will keep you guessing and plenty of cliffhangers that will keep you reading!(less)

They need to come to terms with everything that has happened and all that they have been through, at the same time as trying to understand their own personal changes and the changes of the different world that they find themselves in.

They need to come to terms with everything that has happened and all that they have been through, at the same time as trying to understand their own personal changes and the changes of the different world that they find themselves in.

Again, we have a different type of species with the 'skin-walkers' being introduced. Once I completely understood these beings, they became quite fascinating creatures, but also very scary too. I could elaborate here, but would not want to spoil this novel.

The setting, a small town with its main focus on a local boarding school, takes me back to Enid Blyton with the Famous Five. As here we have a group of young people being adventurous and daring in order to seek out solutions to the mysteries surrounding them. The atmosphere through the most part is spooky and eerie, and with Scooby Doo references too,I couldn't help but think of those great characters and storylines. However, childhood fun aside, Tim O'Rourke adds his own twist by making this novel much more terrifying, gorey and adult-themed.

That is not to say, however, that this novel is completely without any humour. On the contrary, I laughed out loud a few times when reading this book, with one of the characters rifling through woolly knickers, ideas on who 'The Wolf Man' may be and the general bickering between certain characters.

On a more serious note, it is obvious from the beginning that Keira and her friends are concerned for their own well-being and are uncertain of a great deal to begin with. Throughout the book the reader is hoping that the characters will focus on each other and there are compassionate moments in there with some intense scenes which will delight the reader.

One of my favourite aspects of Tim O'Rourke's writing is that he provides enough description for the characetrs and the setting to be understood and connected with. However, there is always room for the reader to use their own imagination for some details, thus making it their own fantasy.

This series is fiction come to life as you envisage and feel whatever the characters are feeling at the time. For example, with the action scenes, you can feel the gore, the blood, the flesh. So much so that it makes you squeamish. It is absolutely fantastic. You feel that you are Keira, or at least a part of her or with her, as she deals with horrific situations and action scenes.

Of all the books in the Keira Hudson series, there are scenes here that truly belong in the 'horror' genre. There are spooky, eerie happenings and later on scary, gorey, pulse-throbbing scenes.This is definitely a novel whereby the reader is perched at the edge of their seat.(less)

WOW I did not see this end coming...Frickin' AWESOME & just a tad bit twisted!! Just gotta figure out where Sam and the "statues" fit in LoL ....Tim hurry up and finish the next book!!! Only negative, I would say and its really more a matter of a personal taste since it really doesn't effect the love of the story...I don't like the cover art, too zombie-ish.

Kiera learns that she has returned to a world that has been changed. Vampyrus like Potter, no longer exist in this world nor do half breeds like Kiera, Kayla and Isidor. Further investigation leads them to learn that the world has been PUSHED just a little off kilter. Werewolves (now called Skinwalkers) and humans hold an uneasy truce that was put in place after years of being at war with each other. In an effort to hold the peace, every 5 years werewolves are allowed to enter one village and take children over the age of 13, and under the age of 18. The children are held prisoners and then matched with a Skinwalker. The matching is straight out of science fiction and not your usual bite/infection/or born.

Dead Flesh is actually told in two separate POV’s; Kiera and Kayla's. I actually thought this was well done and I’m not a fan of alternating POV’s. I liked learning more about how Kayla is feeling since she was given a different mission than Kiera. You can literally feel the tension as it ratchets up and the story nears its climatic ending. We also meet a new character and an old character who stuns readers with his return.

Tim has once again taken readers on a wild ride that is filled with suspense and off cut humor thanks to Potter and Isidor’s banter. It is a ride fraught with an unknown angle that isn’t revealed until the very end. You could actually say the ending was a major stunner that will definitely be played out over the course of this new Kiera Hudson series.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with this installment and would recommend it to those who have read Tim's other works.

I know I say this is the best book yet after each book of Tim's that I read but seriously Dead Flesh rocked it! Your favorite characters Kiera, Potter, Kayla, and Isador are back in Tim's new Kiera Hudson series and I couldn't be more pleased. I have been a fan of Tim's since reading his Black Hill Farm almost a year ago and I have enjoyed watching him grow as a writer. The characters and plots get stronger and his writing gets darker and more intense with each book he publishes.

Having read The Kiera Hudson series one I was patiently waiting for Dead Flesh book one in the second series and I can definitely say it was worth the wait!

To catch up with team again, especially Potter (What can I say, I'm a Potter girl! )was fantastic, and as usual the brilliant writing of Tim does not disappoint! This book left me sitting there with my mouth wide open thinking What the hell?? I so did not see that coming.It was another awesome book to an awesome series..In this book everyone is trying to find themselves after coming back from the dead.They aren't really sure who they are anymore or why they were brought back and just want to feel some kind of normal in a world that is far from it.There world gets more than Pushed.. I Loved it!!!I can't wait to read Dead Angels.

I'm just loving these books. The change of character throughout the chapters gives the storyline extra depth and I'm just loving the character Potter, really pleased he made it back! Good move on the authors behalf!

Each one of the characters just keeps growing and twisting and it's wonderful to think that this is one of those series of books that goes from strength to strength.

This continues to be one of my favorite series. Amazing writing and ideas, the story line keeps you guessing as to what could be happening, yet at the same time keeping the reader comepletely engaged. You don't ever feel like wtf, it's more like wow what an unexpected wicked turn. Great!!!
