Kidnap Greek businessman Charon Drakos? The outrageous plan was basically weak Sarah Gilmore thought, but she felt obliged to help her girlfriend.

As with so many well-laid plans, it backfired. It was Sarah who was kidnapped, and whisked off to Charon's grim, fortresslike home in a remote and primitive part of Greece.

Her spirited resistance seemed only to amuse him. "Whethe

This was my very first HP and my first romance. It had it all....Greek rich tycoon as the kidnapper, pretty young poor thing as the kidnappee, the big misunderstanding, the big fat forced greek wedding and of course the Stockholm Syndrome HEA. Ahh...the memories.

Once again I had the feeling that I have read this before. I really should have found goodreads a lot sooner.
Anyway, this novel was good, but I thought Dark Avenger was a lot better.
The sister of the heroine best friend embark on an affair with a Greek from an area known for its savage and brutal ways. So the friend decide to kidnap the man in order to prevent her beautiful sister from accompanying him, and ask the hero for assistance in this stupid plan. (my thought here: why kidnap this gigant

Admitted: the plot is not extraordinary (another book of Anne Hampson starts in the same way: two friends planning to kidnap a Greek man) and the way the H treats the h is unPC, but I liked this story very much. The heroine is no coward, is generous (always thinking of her friend Miranda), has a misterious lineage and the name of her Mani ancestors is very well chosen, this family name exists in the Mani. OK the grandmother is a bloodthirsty and totally unscrupulous woman, but I find the Mani ...more
Jan 21, 2013 elstaffe rated it liked it not a romance. If you are looking for a love story set against the backdrop of the harsh and unforgiving Greek landscape...this is not the book for you. If, however, you are looking for a textbook description of Stockholm syndrome...this might be slightly more for you. Really, all I can say about this book is that it is the best example of a character trying to rebel against the author's wishes but eventually succumbing as the page count runs out. Three stars for the crack. I thought ...more

Anne Hampson was born on November 28 in England. At age six she had two ambitions: to teach and to write. Poverty after WWI deprived her of an education and at 14 she was making Marks & Spencer's blouses at one shilling (5p) each.

She retired when she married. Later, when her marriage broke up, she was homeless with 40 in her purse. She went back to the rag trade and lived in a tiny caravan. Bu
