This was an interesting book. I thought it, like Grace's Story and Polly's Story, was kind of choppy and cut off somewhat abruptly, though not so much as the others, at the end. I would read other books by this author. They are quick reads and, after watching Downtown Abbey, made me want more from this era.

After studying English Literature at Bristol University, I worked in publishing before deciding to write my own stories. I've had about twenty-five books published for children and young adults. The 'Swallowcliffe Hall' books - novels centred around a grand English country house, the family who live there and the servants who look after them - have recently been released with lovely new covers in...more
