Overall Thoughts:
This fiery story was pretty easy to get through and had daring thrills to it!

Shadow Visions is about a tough woman named Ixa Reyes, who is also a hardcore detective. For years, she has been searching for the one man who took everything away from her when he brutally murdered her entire family: Galante. A few years back, Ixa succeeded in putting the man behind bars, but he manages to escape and comes back with a vengeance. He slaughters two young woman with one thing in common: A hummingbird tattoo. Ixa is his next victim. The two foes run into each other but it's no even match; Galante is not human, he's a demon. Luckily, Ixa is rescued when her hero swoops down and saves her... literally. Manuel Del Sol is his name, and it turns out that he is Ixa's spirit mate, as well as her new partner in this quest to put an end to Galante.

But Ixa Reyes is no ordinary human either, which she is painfully aware of but tries her hardest to hide. She is a direct descendant of the god of wind, meaning that she has control over the element of wind, but has no control of it. Manuel has a limited amount of time to help Ixa gain control over her element, as well as protect her from a mad man who wants her head, as well as... fall in love desperately with her.

What I liked about this book:
I really liked that it was jam-packed with action, literally from page 1 until it ended! Because there was always some kind of battle going on, whether it be between Manuel and Galante, or Ixa and Manuel, or Manuel and his sexual urges (Hehe...), I was never bored while reading this book.

What I disliked about this book:
I wished that the events in this book spanned out to a longer course of time. This book only went through a couple of days, and in that time span a lot of things occurred like Manuel and Ixa falling in love. A part of me understands why they fell so hard so fast, they're soul mates I get it, but also, two days?!

Verdict:
It was very fast paced, and exciting, and although the romance was a bit rushed, I still thought it was still pretty powerful and fierce!(less)

Manuel is a warrior sent from the gods to find out who is killing potential mates for his people. He is on the verge of losing his humanity to the eagle spirit that lives inside him. Manuel knows that he is only a few killings away from being nothing but a shell of who he used to be. All is changed, while at the crime scene of the latest woman baring the mark of the Huitzilopochtli, Manuel spots his mate, Ixa. She is everything he ever dreamed her to be. She commands the wind, but she has no clue how to control it.

The very heritage that Ixa has spent her entire life trying to deny is coming at her like a freaking freight train with Manuel as the driver. Her body and soul recognize him. Craves him so deeply. The problem is that Manuel insists that Ixa claims who she is and learns to embrace all that she has denied. Now, her abuelo has been kidnapped by the man who took her parents and sister from her all those years ago. Ixa has to learn to trust in her powers with the wind. It is time for her to focus on the visions given to her by the gods. Most of all, it is time for her to listen to her heart.

Shadow Visions is the second book in the Shadow Warriors series by Gabriella Hewitt. It is a wonderful original story that is refreshing to read. Ixa is spunky and funny, while Manuel is sexy and stern. A nice easy read that wraps up the story flawlessly. If you are looking for a book that has a story unlike any you have read but still gives you the happily ever after that we all want and love, this is the book for you.

Shelves: shifters, gabriella-hewitt

This is my first book by this author and what an introduction! This is the second book in her Shadow Warriors series. I have not read the first book in this series but it did not hinder my enjoyment of this one. It is definitely a stand alone book. The author writes so vividly that you find yourself totally immersed in the world building, rich Aztec history, and the heart pulsing journey to stop demons from stealing souls.

Really enjoyed this second book in the Shadow Warriors series. I hadn't read the first book, but I was able to follow along without any problems, plus there were no annoying info dumps. My absolute favorite thing has to be the Aztec mythology behind the story, though. Love it! Really unusual, but lots of fun.

Getting a little tired of vamps, weres and angels, but still want a paranormal aspect to your reading? Then this book is for you!

A fresh new breed of paranormal romance. Aztec gods and mythology. Ixa is a strong female lead, and I love strong female characters. Manuel is smexy! This is a well written story. The topic of this book hails from mythology and fantasy. A fast-paced story with lots of action, strong characters and a backbone of a story, this book will be enjoyed by those who love their tryst with fantastical/ mythical world.

Having not read the first book in the series, I did not feel I had missed out on anything but I reckon reading it first would be good.

Never having read about Shadow Warriors before, the concept and plot made for an innovative and interesting one.

Finally accepting who she is, she vows to fulfill her destiny in order to save the world, and her grandfather, before its too late.

This was quite an awesome read. I enjoyed it immensely. The story pulls you in from the moment you begin reading, its action continuing consistently with every turn of the page. I think Gabriella did a wonderful job in creating a world surrounding the lore behind the Aztec gods. I can only imagine the extensive research that went into the story's creation. Beautifully crafted and nicely written, Shadow Visions is a quick and very intriguing read. I truly recommend it!(less)

The second installment of the Shadow Warriors Series, Shadow Vision's is plot fast paced with lots of action and extremely strong characters. A totally incredible read that grips you right from the start and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end. I highly recommend Shadow Visions to anyone who loves the paranormal romance genre.
