I loved Chase and Nikki's relationship. I loved how much he loved her pretty much from the start. I loved how she always knew the right things to say to him when he was upset. I loved how perfect they were together. I did not love the ending. Like I said, I did not see it coming.

I'm glad Chase was finally able to cope with his grief. But I hate how he had to get to that point. With that being said though, I migh...more Wow, so I did not see the ending coming at all! I'm glad Chase was finally able to cope with his grief. But I hate how he had to get to that point. With that being said though, I might have been okay with the way the story ended except for one thing. I didn't like the whole Brittany story line. I didn't like Brittany from the start. I hated how they flirted with each other when Chase was with Nikki. One time I remember specifically, was when they were all walking into the school together, Chase was holding Nikki's hand and smiled flirtatiously at Brittany. That made me mad. Then at Nikki's funeral, Brittany being all "supportive." I didn't see it that way, I saw it as her way to get closer to him. Telling him she was there if he ever needed her. It felt like she was coming on to him, THE DAY OF NIKKI'S FUNERAL!!! Then in the end, you find out he married her?! Ugh no way. I'm glad he was able to move on, I'm glad he was able to get on with his life, but I didn't like that he moved on with Brittany. Because I didn't like his relationship with her from the start. She felt too much like competition for Nikki. That whole ending left a bad taste in my mouth. I think he should have met someone else at college, OR his relationship with Brittany should have been less flirty throughout the book. If she were more like Tana, just an acquaintance that he ended up marrying I would have been much happier with that.

Blah,I realize that I'm focusing on a very minor part of the story, but it just really ruined the whole story for me. It's terrible to say this, but Nikki dying didn't ruin it for me, the fact that he ended up with Brittany did. So I gave it 3 stars, because I liked the story about Chase and Nikki, but I had to drop 2 stars because of Brittany.

I just read a bunch of reviews and I'm so surprised that I only found 1 reviewer that was upset by the Brittany thing. Did their relationship throughout the book not bother anyone else? What the heck?(less)

OMG! WHAT HAVE I GOTTEN MYSELF INTO?

First of all, let me say that I was so scared of reading this because of all the reviews...but I read it anyway so...

Part One - I can handle. But when I got to Part Two, I just can't. I knew something was gonna happen because my breathing's erratic and my heart's racing (I'm not exaggerating.) It amazed me what this book did to me.

I do not even know where to begin with this book! All I can say is that I was glad that I was in the privacy of my own home when I finished the book and not a doctor's office or something. 4.5-5 Stars! I just love it when I find a YA that I can really enjoy. What a great book! Shocking ending that just tore me apart. Chase is such an amazing character with determination but his grief is raw and real. I felt every emotion conveyed. Such a bittersweet romance. I'm just dying for December to come.

Chasing Nikki was an incredible book.I looooooved Chase and how strong he was despite all the tragedies life brought on him.He managed to recoved throught all the pain and make himself the person Nikki new he could be.Not only did he survived but he also managed to thrive in the end.

Chase,is a teenager whose father recently died and decides to deal with his pain by taking drugs and consuming alcohol.After his mother bails him out of jail she decides it will be better if they move.And so they do.New environment is really what Chase needed.He meets new people,makes new friens and encounters Nikki.Nikki and Chase are much alike,so it's not difficult to become more than friends.Although,when they first meet she misjudges him later she understands her mistake.
And so it begins.They go out a lot,spent time together but he never pushes for more.Time passes but they still survive,they dream their future together they make plans and life for once is beautiful.Until tragedy strucks.
I won't say more than that I would never expected the end.I have no idea how Lacey Weatherford managed to write the book,I had to stop every two seconds to grab another tissue and clear my eyes before being able to read again and repeat the process more than a dozen of times.The book cannot be read without having at least two boxes of tissues.Nonetheless,it's the third book I read from only the boy's Pov(yeah..the book is written only in Chase's Pov) although there is a scene where we see things from Nikki's side.
The book is a very emotional one,it broke my heart seeing Chase so hurt ,destroyed and devastated by his own feelings.I guess DEATH can do that to people especially after loosing one you love.The Scene that gets 5 stars though,is the letter scene.I swear I spent a whole box of tissues only for that scene.To be able to look inside her heart was what he required to continue living,to see how proud she was of him,she was the only reason he pulled through the nightmare(because that's what his life was).The only thing I really hated was the Epiloque.It was insulting not only for him but for me too. Recommended it to every boy out there as well as to every romantic heart.

I have never cried this hard over a book. Oh gahd, how am I able to say this. The story cut deep and straight to my heart that made me realize how life is such a blessing and how short it is.

Smoking, drinking, and partying has been the ritual, a habit since the tragic death when one night an incident with a cop pushes his mother in the edge of patience and decided to move places to Chase's grandparents, out of the city, to leave their old life and start a new one.

Nikki isn't the usual type of girl who gives into winks and smiles of any good looking guys. She might be a rocking cheerleader but she's not into falling into the charms and words of any of the football players in their school. And so when Chase caught a glimpse of her and noticed how any of his acts seem to be nonexistent to her, he focused his mind and attention and decided to go on operation: Chasing Nikki.

I am still coping. I haved mixed feelings towards this book. I am a hundred percent sure that I didn't like what happened to Nikki but this is the turning point of the story, the moment that awakens Chase and made him realize how life is a road that keeps going and that past (as everyone keeps saying) should be put safely in the memory box and what matters now is the present and how each moment of today is important for molding the future.
Thank God I got hold of myself and my tears almost dried up. I am pretty aware this story will be with me forever. Dang. This is why I try to always keep away from reading tragic stories because it affected me for days even weeks. And I am sure that's how I'm gonna be for the next few days, pondering over this story, reminiscing every bit of Nikki and Chase moments. But this is something you shouldn't miss out for if ever you'll get hold of this book. Worth reading. Beautifully written. Inspiring and very touching. 5 stars won't be enough, I guess. :)

Instantly you fall in love with the grandparents and your heart bleeds for Chase, whose life is spiraling downwards ever since the death of his father.

On his first day of school he meets Nikki, a gorgeous girl who was burned by a football player and forever sworn off dating them. Chase being an intrepid young man and ex-quarterback sees a challenge and takes to the chase.

Over time they fall in love, they understand each other and they make plans for the future until tragedy strikes on what is supposed to be a night to remember.

The relationship between Chase and Nikki is beautiful and romantic, every girl reading this book wants a boy like Chase in their life and every guy who even hears about it wants a girl like Nikki. The character development is gradual and very pleasing.

This is a book you cannot put down not for a second so if you haven’t read it yet you may want to save it for a day when you can sit down and just read it because you will laugh you will cry you will fall in love with Chase and Nikki and cheer them on until the very end. As I read this book I couldn’t help but find myself crying, I cried for Chase and his pain and I cried for Nikki and her silent struggles.

Now I never read plain romance novels to be totally honest this is the first romance novel that wasn’t paranormal that I have read, and I loved it. I loved everything about it, I was hooked from the second I read the first page and had difficulty thinking about anything else other then this book when I was at school. The only other time I’ve cried over a book was when I read Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows, it takes quite a lot for a book to evoke tears from me but their were tears and my heart swelled with each romantic moment or gesture.

Like with her other books the last line of this novel will never let you forget Chasing Nikki.(less)

When his mother Tori finally became sick of it and moved them to live with his grandparents he met Nikki, someone who saw through his guise to the broken boy underneath... And someone who refused to date football players because the star quarterback messed up.

It's at this point your probably think that this is the typical boy-meets-girl-girl-plays-hard-to-get-and-they-live-happily-ever-after type story, but you'd be wrong!

Sure, Nikki plays hard to get because Chase was a jerk to her at first, but like all good romance's he wore her down until she went on a date with him. Sure, everything was hunky dory for a while. It doesn't mean that in real life it'll stay that way forever though and so it didn't. Even as both Nikki and Chase helped each other overcome their pasts and move on, there was still that dark shadow in the back that whispered it would return to wreak havoc again in their lives.

That was part 1 of the book in a nutshell, and even though it was the biggest part of the book, taking up about two thirds of it, it still held nothing on the second part.

Part 2 of Chasing Nikki is where the worst, most heartwrenching moments of the story come to play. At first it might seem that, of course they'll live happily ever after, they always do. There's one big diffence with this story though. It takes the most predictable plotline ever, the one that you want to see come through, and twists it so fast that you have worse whiplash than Nikki and although the need to quit reading may be strong, the need to see them to the end is stronger.

Told in a way that keeps you reading till the very last moment with eager anticipation, Chasing Nikki is a book that will warm your heart and crush your soul. You will laugh and cry in the best and worst ways possible. A definite must read.(less)

I read this book and its sequel in one day....both books in the same day. I want to support this author and encourage others to read these fabulous books, but she makes it hard to write a review without spoilers. Lacey did an outstanding job connecting the readers with the emotions of a male teen. I have to say I am so glad that the sequel was ready for me to read right away. Oh my... Oh my.... I don't even know what to say.. The tears are still flowing.... I've had this book in my nook for quite some time and just never got around to it. This is an amazing book! I read it all in a day because it was so easy to get caught up in the story.

Chase is not your typical bad boy. He turns to drugs and alcohol to numb his pain after his father dies in a horrific accident. He stops caring about the things he used to care about. You will need some kleenex for this book - I think this deserves a warning otherwise you will be like me, up at 2AM crying like a baby trying not to wake your husband up because he will look at you like you are crazy. What??? You've never been in that boat?

Be ready to get your heart yanked out of your chest and get stomped on! Chasing Nikki, is such a wonderfully wrote book, and you can't help but love the characters. Chasing Nikki is in Chase Walker's POV. Yes, totally different from a lot of other book, from being in a males POV.

Chase Walker a young man struggling to over come his fathers death which took place on his 17th birthday, has fallen into drugs and alcohol to cope, but all that has gotten him is in trouble. With his mother having to pay a fine and with him being arrest and to top it off, 100hr community service, she decides that the only choice is to move back to her home town and in with her parents on their farm.

Chase had everything going for him, before his fathers death. He was a all-star football player, great grades a all around great guy, but that Chase is now gone and who knows if he could ever be returned.

At his new school Chase see's a girl that he can't stop thinking about Nikki, and he will get her if it's the last thing he will do. After Nikki, denying Chase because she knows guys like him, she's been there and can't get hurt aging, but she has never met Chase before, and she will be surprised by him.

After all the things Chase has done to get Nikki it finally has worked, and he can't understand why he feels this way about her. He is the type of guy who only made out with girls at party's while he was drunk. Nikki will make Chase want to change his self for the better.

Will Chase get his happy ending? You will have to read Chasing Nikki to find out, and make sure you have your tissues next to you when your close to the ending in the book. Author Lacy Weatherford will give you a huge surprise.

Chasing Nikki was a breath of fresh air. The book, wasn't like others full of cuss words, sex and so on. It was well written and like I said the characters very lovable. This story is about first love and finding your self, and Lacy scored a touchdown with it (NO PUN ATTENDED :) lol. WARNING: CHASING NIKKI WILL MAKE YOU BALL YOUR EYES OUT(less)
