Machines aren’t supposed to feel, but this cyborg can’t help falling in love.

Assigned as a specimen collector for a captured cyborg, Chloe is intrigued by the machine disguised as a man. Kidnapped during his daring escape, he shows her that despite the chip in his brain, his humanity is not completely lost.

Formerly known as unit X109GI, Joe is on a quest to discover his or

X109GI was one of many Cyborgs created by the government. They were born human, but are now altered with nanobots allowing them to regenerate and heal. Their bone structures are covered in metal and their thinking is overridden by a BCI computer board wired to their brains. But that was before their brains started to override their programming. Cyborg X109GI renamed himself Joe once he was free of the government.

Joe is now a free thinking cyborg and he is has the

I wouldn't really want to be abducted, but just in case it happens, these are the options I would chose:

(A) Sexy shifter who senses I am his mate and uses everything in his sexual repertoire to convince me I am his soul mate

(B) Gorgeous Alien who needs me to help repopulate his planet as women as scarce and we are genetically compatible. I am not a fussy girl so his skin can be blue, green, purple etc, but there can be no puss nodules or anything, but I will allow a double penis, I am generous t

OMG I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! This book had everything that you are looking for in a story that will keep you glued to the pages: suspense, mystery, action, emotional content that will have your heart aching and a gorgeous, hunky hero that will have you wishing you were the one getting his special treatment.

Oh where to begin! Lets start in the beginning with X109GI or I should say Joe because despite what the military wants people to believe, and for Joe and his comrades to believe abo

*Sigh* Where is my cyborg?

I absolutely adored this story. I've been in a bit of a book slump again lately. I've read a few that I liked, but not LOVED. Well, C791 gave me just what I was looking for; A gorgeous misunderstood guy, and a heroine who deserves love after having a hard life. Usually in erotic romance you don't get much story, but I was delighted to find the characters and setting well developed in this one. Eve Langlais is well known for her ability to write hot love scenes and did

This story had pretty good potential. I love sci fi romance and cyborg stories are some of my favorites of this genre. However, I felt that the world building here lacked something. Also there were too many sex scenes and not enough story. The book was really good when the action was going on. There were just large parts where the author said words to the effect: 'they spent long hours talking and she taught him stuff to help him pass as human.' I would rather have read those scenes instead of t ...more

3.5 stars - Cyborg smexy times!

Take a moment and admire that book cover. Mmmmm…. I’ve got to hand it to Eve Langlais. She takes a cyborg man (and here I was picturing Data from Star Trek) and makes him into a sex machine. Cyborg sex! Can you imagine? He can keep going and going…..

X109GI or Joe for short is a cyborg who was once a man. After being exposed to an electro-magnetic pulse, his programming changed and he was able to thin

Chloe has taken an assignment that promises a large payout, but it also comes with the risk of death. The military has captured one of the rebel cyborgs. They want to study him. The military is looking for a more efficient method of destroying what they once controlled as their super soldiers. Chloe just wants the pay. She is desperate. The moment she enters his cage she is intrigued by him. He is nothing like the rumors she has heard of the cyborgs.

Joe is not the captive that the military assu

This was a fun, quick paranormal read. I'm a sucker for the whole alien/Cyborg trope and this one didn't disappoint. Already downloading the next one...

AWESOME story! Loved that ending! Gives it the possibility of a couple more stories for this series :) I don't think I could get tired of reading about these guys .. especially Seth :)

Fun story! The beginning gets a little complicated with Cyborg getting the command to destroy ALL Cyborgs. At first X109GI couldn't comprehend why .. but being a Cyborg, he knew he shouldn't have to understand.

Cyborgs were machines, Robots. Tools for human use. They might have started as flawed or damaged humans,

Man, this book has qualities I wish Cinder had. Not that Cinder was bad, I just found it difficult to fully understand what it meant to be cyborg just from Cinder's (likely abnormal) experiences. Not so here. You see I'm fairly new to the concept so I needed it spelled out for me. I get it now. The idea of cyborgs is an intriguing one with many areas to debate and explore. The history and creation of Langlais's half man, half machines struggling to recover their human sides were interesting. I'm ...more

Sexy sci-fi is my crack. I am irrationally obsessed with finding more of it and when I come across the good stuff I end up craving it even worse than I was before. That's the case here. I don't know what sort of magic ore dust Eve Langlais sprinkles on her characters but I like it!

Things I liked so much it's ridiculous: Joe. I'm a sucker for stories that start out with the big, strong hero being held prisoner (not broken by his imprisonment, mind you, but having an awesome physical and mental pr

This is an original book review from http://bookedandloaded.com - I received this book as a gift at a convention. All opinions are my own and were not influenced in any way. **Original rating 4.5/5

C791 by Eve Langlais is the first book in her Cyborgs: More Than Machines series. I want to start off by saying I couldn't help myself after writing this review to check out what others thought and compulsively went to the one star reviews - just for fun. I realized I should point something out. #1 - I

I truly enjoyed this book. Joe and Chloe how cute there were. Even though I was a little confuse in the beginning, because I felt I was reading a manual of some kind. Then finally it started to get better when each chapter pass. Joe knew he wanted Chloe the moment he saw her. But dayum, the war between Cyborgs and the human. That general I would do the same way that Chloe did to him. Oh Seth, he was so cute and funny; love the part of the Wizard of OZ re-enactment how funny was that. Solace was ...more

Enjoyable book - loved the cyborg/sci-fi element.

Chloe is a lab assistant that's been hired to get samples from a captured cyborg. The cyborgs became aware and the military wanted them destroyed. They rebelled and now they finally have one in their evil clutches (AH-AHHH-AHH sinister laugh). Joe (a name he chose) is attracted to Chloe. He hasn't been around human women and he likes what he sees and feels. When he escapes, he takes her with him and finds out all kinds of horrible stuff. I love t

A solid 4 stars

My first foray into cyborg erotica - recommended by my good gr friend Sammy!

Not an erotica sub-genre that would be my first port of call when choosing a book but,
I'd finish this series - it was well written, well thought out AND HOT!!

Great twist near the end too - I didn't see that coming!

"The stunning realization shocked him, but not for long. If there was one thing cyborgs did well, it was adapt. In his case, he adapted his whole escape plan because it seemed his initial scheme required modification so he cold bring along a passenger."

Joe, a cyborg is captured by the military and caged. Chloe, a civilian worker, is sent to take samples of his blood, saliva, and semen. Each time she steps into his cage, his attraction to her deepens and grows. As she's sent again and again for m

I struggled with the rating on this one.

I loved the plot. Humans that were enhanced to the point they are no longer thought of as people. The humans call them machines/robots. They call themselves cyborgs. They rebelled. Nice twist. I should have picked up sooner who C791 was, but oh well. Nice. I enjoyed the story.

What I didn't like: Don't get me wrong, I like Alphas. However, there is a fine line between that being sexy/romantic to not so much. Joe repeatedly referred to Chloe as "his." There

Quick Review: This was a smexy one night read that I pretty much devoured. It hit the spot for my scifi romance craving. I haven't read Eve Langlais before but I will be again (F814 is already on my kindle). The story was really well paced and interesting. I really liked the Cyborgs being the "good" guys and learning how they got free from their creator. I think as the series goes on we will learn more about t

Oh how do I love cyborgs--let me count the ways...

1. They are Alpha

2. They claim to have no emotions so their first encounter with said heroine is usually borderline dub-con.

3. They are usually big, hot, and hung.

4. They turn to crazed jealous beasts over their women.

5. They are big, hot, and hung.

6. They are in space, there is usually a space war going on, and the women are always awesome heroines.

7. Eve knows how to write men.

8. They are big, hot, and hung.

Ok, this really wasn't a revi

Despite reading pretty much the exact same freaking story... ALMOST EXACTLY!! I still really liked it. But yeah, same story, same cyborgs, same plot (plus or minus some twists) I can't remember if I liked this or the other one better, but I did really like this one (SLEEP DEPRIVATION!!!) and I chose it to read BEFORE MY BELOVED, BELOVED JOHN RINGO E-ARC SOMETHING-OR-OTHER-THAT-I-ALSO-CAN'T-REMEMBER-THE-NAME-OF. I love Eve Langlais books. This one was no exception. I loved it from the very beginning.

This is a different type of book than we usually get from Eve. This one was much more serious in nature.

The world that she's created is amazing. The idea of cyborgs is not new. However, the way she created the cyborgs and what they are is. At least to me it is.

It was an amazing world to be a part of. There was twist to the story that I was not expecting. It made for a pleasant surprise.

Let me start by saying I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, I don't think I've ever read a Cyborg book before, certainly not a Cyborg erotica. Once I started reading though I was hooked! I read it straight through, it's such an interesting world and a fresh idea. I think the fact that the Cyborgs began as humans who were experimented on helped me invest in the characters and the story. Chloe, the heroine goes through so much you can't help but feel for her and root for her to come out on ...more

Well, a new series is born and I can't wait for more installments. I have to say I liked this book and usually I rave about Eve's writing but this time I wasn't wow'ed. Don't get me wrong, its a great book, the characters are well defined, the world this is crafted in is well developed. Its just a different path from most of her other books. Definitely more serious, and the heroine is softer. If you like the Laurann Dohner cyborg series then this is right up your alley. I'm looking forward to se ...more

Two of the things I love about Eve Langlais’ books are her snarkier than snark dialog (which usually makes me laugh) and that her heroines are not cookie-cutter Barbie size 2’s. Even in a science fictional type story like C791, her heroines always feel more real because they aren’t supposedly perfect, just perfect for the hero.

C791 is the first book in her Cyborgs series, so it needs to both introduce the world she has created and fulfill Langlais’

Really, this is a 3.5 but I'll round up to 4.

The romance between Chloe and Joe is actually pretty sweet. The cyborg aspect was a great twist. Joe is experiencing feelings he doesn't recognize and they play havoc with him which was fun to read. Obviously, the sex was frequent and hot. I don't want to give any details away but the surprise really did come as a surprise to me. It also caused an interesting turn in the story. I liked it. If there is another cyborg book to follow, I'll buy it.

C791 was just OK for me...but that's because it really doesn't fit my tastes. I got it for free and I misunderstood going in. When captured Cyborg Joe makes his break for freedom, he kidnaps Chloe the lab tech assigned to him as a specimen collector. I was envisioning some sort of dark stockholmy vibe with allot of kiss me or kill me tension. In reality Joe doesn't so much "kidnap" Chloe as he does rescue her; as in being taken by Joe is the best thing that's ever happened to her and Chloe is sm ...more

3.75 Stars. A good, hot at times, tender scifi read. I liked it. Buddy read with Carrie, can't wait to see what she thinks about these Cyborgs who overcame their programming and saved themselves. They have their own planet, which reminds me much of Laurann Dohner Cyborg seduction series, which I liked a bit better. But still a good read.

Hello, my name is Eve Langlais and I am an International Bestselling author who loves to write hot romance, usually with werewolves, cyborgs or aliens .

I should warn you, I have a twisted imagination and a sarcastic sense of humor something I like to let loose in my writing. While well known for my shifter stories, I am also extremely partial to aliens, th
