Josephine started off with promise, and the first third of the book became increasingly interesting, but then the middle third was repetitive, boring, predictable, and Josephine became more and more unlikeable, and since she was the primary character, with the others only seen through her own self-centered perspective, it made for an irritating read. 'Josephine Red Dirt & Whiskey' is a Southern Romance story. The book was delightful and the characters were so realistic. This book was pure enjoyment, and I loved every moment of reading it. Josephine is a spit-fire who is an independent thinker during the time of the Depression in a small town in Texas, when women had to be careful about how they acted and talked.
