This was an interesting teaser to the story of Svala and Viggo. I couldn't get a really good feel of the story because it seemed to lack the necessary "meat" that explained Svala and Viggo's relationship, their status as fairies, or the backstory behind the differences between Dockalfar and the Liosalfar.
This was not a bad story and the series has great potential. I hope the second installation has a little more bite to garner the readers interest and engagement in the story.

(Free book given to me by the author)
This story is about a fairy named Svala, who lives with her "uncle" Trym. Trym is more of Svala's keeper. He stays with her until the bargain that she made in the 10th century is fulfilled. This bargain was that if she became a Liosalfar, a light fairy, her incentive being Viggo the boy who had captured her heart, then they could be together. Viggo also had agreed to the same terms. As long as the both held their end of the bargain they could be together for a More...

Review on Linny's Literature
With the premise of not just your run of the mill fairies, but Nordic fairies, I immidiately was drawn to this book. Both this element and the storyline of a fairy couple living new lives, completeing assignments for eternity in order to spend it with eachother was very unique. It fails to mention it in the description, but this book is actually a novella. It took me maybe a total of one hour to read the entire thing.

This novella was given to me by the author in exchange for an honest review, and since I almost never say no to review requests – the synopsis didn’t sound so bad either – I said yes. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting this book to turn out the way it did. I don’t mean that in a bad way though. The idea was again somewhat close to ‘Silver Knight’ yet completely different.
I honestly thought the cover was pretty cool, and I am a huge fan of foreign names so I enjoyed the names the author had used, More...

I honestly loved Nordic Fairies! The story had been a fast and exciting read, my heart pounding all the way but there were a lot of things I found that needs to be fixed. One would be the order of the story. It was kind of confusing to start at the present then backtrack a bit, then have small flashbacks during flashbacks, before finally coming back to the present time. I do think that more description is needed. I couldn’t even differentiate Jen, Megan, and Sarah. I only filed them in one place More...

Firstly,I would like to thank the author for providing me with a review copy of this wonderful book.
I usually have to contemplate a lot before giving a book five stars, but I did not even blink twice this time.As a novella, this was written really well.I did not have any trouble at all in getting into the story.I'm really glad that there were no unnecessary introductions. They make it hard for readers to concentrate on the main More...

What was this about? What were the assignments? How do they help to keep the balance between the bad and good fairies? Who are these Dark and Light fairies? How are Nordic Fairies differ from regular ones? If Viggo and Svala stayed together for decades at the time, why are they only talking about marriage now? The thought never crossed their mind in all of the 900 years? Why is being a celebrity bad and immediately sets off red flags, and makes Svala stalk Viggo? Did he violate the rules somehow More...

Nordic Fairies is an unique twist on faeries that keeps your attention in an instant. It's an absolute page turner that will make you crave the second book as soon as you turn the last page. An awesome fast read, with a cliffhanger that'll make you gasp and rethink what you've read it's a must for everyone who loves fairy books. And even if you're not a fan of those, you will like it.

Svala would do anything for the love of her life, Viggo. This is something that has held true for ages. But what will Svala do when confronted with the possibility that all that she holds true, may not be as it appears?
Nordic Fairies is a very brief 39 page novella written by Saga Berg. However, he handles the length of his novella and the future continuations in a rather unique manner. Berg suggests that if the reader enjoyed Nordic Fairies they simply follow Berg’s Facebook page. In doing so, More...

From the blurb I became intrigued with this story and would like to thank the author for being so kind in sending me this e-book. Viggo and Svala are fairies pretending to be normal human beings. It seems they used to be one hundred percent human before becoming fairies due to some kind of deal. It appears they get separated every now and then after they complete their assignments which are not specific in the novella. Viggo turns out to be a movie star in their next encounter and apparently eve More...

Nordic Delight!
The Author invited me to read her series and I jumped at the chance to read something that wasn't about sparkling vampires and pectorially advantaged young men that turn into werewolves, or vampires, period. Nordic Fairies grabs you, pulls you in, and you are thrown into the middle of something - a love story and a battle, perhaps? Fortunately, Ms. Berg gives you enough dialogue and exposition to keep your interest piqued and the story moving. What is the history of Svala and Vigg More...

I NEED MORE!
Svala is a Nordic fairy pretending to be a normal girl. Nordic fairies used to be humans that made some kind of deal to be fairy. The Nordic fairies are divided in two: the light fairies and the dark fairies. Svala and her boyfriend Viggo are part of the light fairies and they have some kind of job to do in the human world. One day Viggo showed up as a big movie star and everyone is wondering what heck is going on. It is up to Svala now to find out what is going on and if the love o More...

(This book was given to me by the author for free.)
Svala is a member of light fey, as is her lover Viggo. Hundreds of years old, she made a pact with a Fairy, as did Viggo. Now she must complete assignments under the watchful eye of her guardian. As a reward, each time both Svala and Viggo complete an assignment, they get to be together for a short time until they are given another assignment. Sometimes they get months together, sometimes only weeks, and the length of the assignments differs as More...

There were two things that convinced me I absolutely have to read this novella: the incredible cover (yes, I am often influenced by beautiful covers) and the fact that the story is inspired by Norse mythology, which in my opinion is way more fascinating than the Greek or Roman ones (or I’ve simply read too many books featuring these two and I need something new). Nordic Fairies, the first part in the series with the same name, didn’t disappoint me, for it was a truly refreshing read.

That's it? I need more; I want more! When is the sequel out? :P
Okay. So at first, I was expecting this to be an average read. Turns out it was more than that. While I am a bit bothered by the loose ends, suffice it to say the plot does not disappoint---it was far from it. I liked that the characters, despite their past lives and missions, are still constantly in love with each other. It was exciting that there are Döckálfars or the dark fairies to keep the story interesting (though I would reall More...

4 1/2 Stars!
This is a classic love story, but being that they are fairies and they have to do their jobs before they can be together, that is the awesome twist.

I loved it. The cliffhanger at the end was great. I can't wait to read the next book.
Svala, is a strong, loving girl. I don't know if I could be as strong as her, especially since I don't have the years of experience as she does. Reading about her attachment to Viggo and Tyrm, I feel really bad for her when all the things start to fall apart.
Viggo seems to be a mysterious, caring character. With what we've read about him, you can understand why all the girls are going crazy over him.

This story is what it was meant to be. An introduction into the world of Nordic Fairies. You meet the main characters and you start to get a taste of where the story will go in the next novella(s). I would call this a teaser novella as it wets your whistle and pulls you in so you will want to read more to find out what happens. Short and sweet. The characters are intriguing as you start to learn of their connected past. There are a lot of unanswered questions that pop up which of course aren't a More...

Another Amazon for Kindle freebie.
This is a teaser, not even a novella.
The story seems interesting, but the storytelling feels a bit disjointed. We started in the present, then we go to the 10th century for a bit, followed by a trip to 'several months' in the past, then back to the present. Because it took only 30 minutes to read, it felt weird to jump around that much.
Since it's a teaser, you get about 2 chapters worth of story before a cliffhanger revelation. And then you undoubtedly have to p More...

I really enjoyed the concept of this story and my appetite was stirred for more of it. I saw this as kind of like a trailer for a movie, a sneak peak at what the story is all about which helps you decide if you want to invest the time in delving deeper into the world. I think it is a great idea, but then I checked out the second in the series and saw I would only get another 50 pages... I love reading series, but normally each part in a series at least finishes off a section of the story so ther More...

I was kindly given a free e-book from Saga Berg. I must say that the plot seems really interesting, I like when mythology is mixed into our world. The writing style's good and the story captured me in that way that I wanted to find out what happens next.

This novella was a great introduction to Saga Berg’s unique twist on fairies. It is the first book in her Nordic Fairies Series.
Nordic Fairies gives readers just a taste of what’s to come and a little bit of Svala and Viggo’s background. I really liked the premise, and the characters made me want to get to know them better, which I hope will happen in the next book, Freja. Neither book is very long. This novella was an enjoyable read, and I highly recommend that everyone go download it as an Amazon freebie. (Remember that Calibre is your friend!).
We don't find out much in this story, but we do get a nice introduction to the 2 mains and their sad situation.
All too often normal couples with normal (or normal-ish) circumstances say:
"I'd wait forever for you". Hell, I know I've said it, since I'm in a long-distance relationship. But, what if you really had to wait extreme amounts of time to More...

I think the only truly appropriate way to describe saga Berg's first novella is, short and sweet. The first installment in the Nordic Fairies series of novellas is certainly intriguing. It gives you just enough of glimpse into what the rest of the series holds that you want to keep reading; it nearly drove me mad with curiosity when it ended just when I was getting into the story. The hint of romance between Viggo and Svala, as well as the original plot offered a taste of what I am hoping will More...
