A Libertine... Jeremy Greymont certainly qualifies. ‘Sex rough and women loose’ is his credo—one he’s always taken very seriously, with no deference whatsoever to the society into which he’s been born. He’s been perfectly content milling along through life on an existence of courtesans and fine Scotch whisky...that is until his grandfather lets him know he’s out of time, a ...more

It's very easy to lose yourself within the words of a book, especially if the book is Raine Miller's. I finished this book a week ago and tried and tried to compose a review that I felt justified this story. Many times, I wanted to squeal and swoon at the same time. Other times, I had to set my kindle to the side and gain composure of myself. I found it very hard to concentrate doing my daily tasks as I dwelled upon the chapter I had finished. I absolutely did not find one single thing about thi ...more

This was my first book by Raine Miller and I really enjoyed it. The story was really good as were the character's. The hero said some really sigh worthy things to the heroine. It took a while for the heat to turn up but once it did, WOW! The heroine did have one TSTL moment near the end but I could understand why she would have done it. I might have done the same thing too, LOL. Of course we

the undoing of a libertine!!!! what a great story!

opening sentence...

"A proper blow always felt nice. Satisfying as hell, he thought. And he’d needed it. Badly. As usual, the sex played out just the way he liked—driving at full hop and more on the rough side of things than not."

i think i did a double take when i read this...seriously...i had to reread this! and then i laughed...yes, Ms. Miller, you have my attention!

And a few pages later this... "“You’d have to curb that whore-pipe of yours min

The Undoing of a Libertine is the second historical written by Raine Miller. Set in 1837 England the story revolves around Jeremy Greymont, a self-indulgent Libertine who must find a wife so that he can produce an heir at the insistence of his grandfather. Enter Georgina Russel, the 21 year old sister of Jeremy's friend Tom, whose father is trying desperately to marry her off. Through the story we find out that Georgina has suffered through a terrible ordeal and thus feels she is not worthy to m ...more
This one was a slow read for me. The first half seemed to drag on and on, but the action picked up in the second half. The hero wavered between alpha and beta and I couldn't decide how to categorize him.

I had read this author's new work Naked just prior to reading this one. Although it was a much shorter, the writing in it seemed crisper and more focused which indicates to me that her writing style is evolving in a very good direction. Will certainly look with interest for her new releases, but

THE UNDOING OF A LIBERTINE by Raine Miller is another exciting Erotic Historical Romance set in 1837 London. I was once again captured by hero Jeremy Greymont and the heroine Georgina Russell. Jeremy is a libertine who likes his sex rough, and is looking for something in all the wrong places. Georgina Russell, has been raped and brutally assaulted by an unknown assailant, therefore, can not stand a man's touch, until, that is she meets Jeremy. Fast paced story filled with secrets, passion, betrayal ...more
Holy Hotness Batman! I have never been one to get into Historical Romance, but along with His Perfect Passion, these two novels by Raine Miller have helped make me a believer!

Not only are the heroes swoon worthy but the heroines are strong women who with the help of their men get through some pretty incredible circumstances.

It is no secret to anyone who knows me that I am a HUGE fan of Raine Miller's Blackstone Series. Yet even with my love of Ms. Miller, I was still reluctant to start this boo

Another great historical erotic romance from Raine Miller. I absolutely loved this book and the Characters (Jeremy & Georgina) and so many others that made this story great. What a beautiful love story from a dark man and a damaged woman. I was so glad that the story started strong & stayed that way until the end with a few twists & turns along the way. Jeremy was unlikable right from the beginning and then how can you resist falling in love with him. Georgina, you had to love her fr ...more

"The mind is its own place, and in itself Can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven." —John Milton, Paradise Lost(1667)

I really loved this book ... a classic love story in every sense even if predictable it was nice to go back to something like that after so many brooding angst ridden billionaires with mental issues.... made this story seem most unusual these days! Jeremy Greymont for all his faults IS mentally sound and able to love Georginia in a way that is both beautiful and r

The first 75% of this book was a passionate, absorbing, hot and interesting read. It was very annoying to be interrupted and have to put down my kindle and come back to the real world!

Jeremy has turned 30 and is being hounded by family to marry and produce and heir. He is a really honorable and good man who has drifted through life emotionally untouched, his evenings being taken up by drink, cards and women. He feel incapable of love and has never pursued it, lots and lots of meaningless sex is
The Undoing of a Libertine by Raine Miller is an amazing love story set in 19th century England. The story of Jeremy and Georgina grabbed me from the very first page and kept me in its seductive hold through all the trials and tribulations of their 'courtship'. The characters are strong throughout the story and I loved watching them grow from page to page.

The sex scenes, yes there are alot of them, but this is an 'erotic romance novel', and are very compelling but tastefully written and had my h

This was a beautiful, romantic, steamy and sensual read. This deep connection between Jeremy and Georgina that goes beyond lust and helps them both to overcome their past is well written. They both grow as individuals and as lovers, partners, friends.
But can I salute the fathers and brothers for taking revenge? Glad Raine Miller didn't fear to write it the way she did! Salute to her as well for that.
And if you have read all books by Raine then you will find little details from other books and ch

I read so many historical romance novels before blogging; I was hooked on Rose Gordon. I realize that not everything is historically accurate, but I know for a fact that these authors do their best at researching for their novels. Vernacular, social mores, turn of phrase, all have to be believable. And I just love when I am sucked right into England in the 1800's.

I read Raine Miller's The Blackstone Affair last summer. When I met her at a
This was about a third again too long. For the last third, I kept thinking, "Isn't it almost over?" I appreciate the time taken to thoroughly resolve the plot laid out at the beginning, but by the last scene, it was overkill. Suddenly we were hearing random gossip about unknown characters at a party and it felt like the author was just laying groundwork for some other story.
The relationship became too overly-sentimental once they were together. Too fluffy and sweet for my taste.
Hero went from rake to love struck idiot in about 20 minutes. After that, almost every scene is the same. Just awful. Could only force myself through two thirds of the book.

What a beautiful and wonderful story. You can't go wrong with a historical romance especially when written by the talented Raine Miller.
I was kindly and generously gifted this title by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you lovely!

There are many Raine Miller novels on my to-read shelf. Finally have had the opportunity to read one .. The Undoing of a Libertine, (Blackstone Affair Historical Prequel #2) an erotic historical romance novel. Not sure if this is where I should have started but my first Raine Miller romance did not disappoint.

The story is set in 1837.. London. Jeremy
Raine Miller definitely did it again for me with her historical romances and her romances in general. The passion and love between her characters is just fantastic and i love so much how she takes a topic that is very real that woman face (and even men) face today and show through her writing how people handled that topic in another era, and that is the topic of rape. Georgina is such a beautiful character in that she not only deal with the horrific thing that has been done to her, but does not ...more
Raine Miller’s The Undoing of A Libertine is for those who enjoy their historical romance with some sex. While the book wasn’t bad, there wasn’t anything else that made it stand out for me. This was a book that you take up when you have some free hours on your hand. While there wasn’t anything overtly bothersome about the book, it did have its moments where it got repetitive, the dialogue got a little cheesy for my taste and made question some of the main couple’s behaviors.

The writing was fine

Raine Miller has been reading romance novels since she picked up that first Barbara Cartland book at the tender age of thirteen. And it's a safe bet she'll never stop, because now she writes them too! Granted Raine's stories are edgy enough to turn Ms. Cartland in her grave, but to her way of thinking, a hot, sexy hero never goes out of fashion. A former teacher, she's now writing sexy romance sto ...more
