Hotter on the Edge
All that Giltters: Within the first two pages of All that Glitters, Erin Kellison creates a vivid world, establishes sympathy for a "criminal" protagonist and gives the reader an understanding of the larger forces that will be at work through the novella. Every page thereafter is equally thrilling. Readers will cheer for the kick-ass heroine and complex hero while the story weaves it's way through themes of family, politics and class-ism.

Great read, great stories, great writing. Torn characters, compelling conflict, sensuality and character growth. Determined heroines clashing with strong heroes. Each novella sucked me into their own individual world, with brilliant world building, heroes to die for. Sci-fi romance at its best. You don't often find that with anthologies there's always one or two that are meh. Not this - all 3 were a great read!

I don’t know what makes a great Sci-Fi story, but if the author has me believing in the world they created then that is a win in my opinion. I am going to give my thoughts on each individual story for this review.
All That Glitters was by far my favorite in this collection, it is no secret I love the way Kellison writes. I think this was her first attempt at Sci-fi and she hit it out of the ball park. There is the perfect balance between world building detail, story, and romance. There never was...more

Three novellas that are in a fantasy setting, but explore the same topic. How quickly you can fall in love with someone who pushes your buttons. Authors Erin Kellison, KC Klein and Jessa Slade, each have their own unique style of taking you on the voyage in a sizzling, exciting and new way.
In "All That Glitters" Mica Sol is part of a royal family. She doesn't really want to be. She wants to explore the planet. She goes away to do just that. Then her sister contacts her to let Mica know she's g...more

3.5 stars - Three SciFi romance novellas and I ended up liking all three, world building is important in scifi stories and all three authors did a good job in delivering well thought out worlds and all three of the romances worked for me too.
All that Glitters by Erin Kellison - The romance in this one has a head start because it brings former lovers back together.
To Buy a Wife by KC Klein - Well, this is a tough one. I ended up liking it but the beginning is tough. This is set in a world where t...more

I had to try a fw times to get this one started. I think it was because I really wanted to read something different and had trouble focusing on this book. Once I got started though, it was a decent book. The 3 authors are very different in style and I was already familar with two of them - but as PNR authors rather than as sci-fi authors. It was a little strange reading someting that different from Erin Kellison and Jessa Slade, but the stroies were still good. K C Klein was new to me. All three...more
Hotter than a plasma burner!
Sci-fi meets romance in these three novellas by Erin Kellison, KC Klein and Jessa Slade, and oh boy do these ladies know how to fuse the two.
I’ve always been a big fan of sci-fi and romance but this is the first time I’ve read them together. Convincing worlds, strong characters and steamy sex, all three of these are worth the galactic credits, but to put them in one anthology? Well let’s just say, I’d trade my best wookie for more. And that’s no bantha fodder.

I was really impressed with how much world building was created in these short stories. KC's Klein's Buy a Wife lived up to it's title where women were property but men couldn't own (land) property without having a wife, a weird interesting catch 22 world, in which the tramp stamp has a whole new meaning! I was most impressed with Jessa Slade's story, not just because I love jewelry and how she incorporated that as a paranormal element. The story was multi-layered and she gave the hero and heroi...more

I picked up this book because I liked Jessa Slade's Marked Souls series. Oh, and I got a discount card to download it for free. :) All I can say is Wow! All three stories in this book are great. I don't read science fiction very much but these were still good. It's not like it was Star Trek, more meaningful.

A romantic story that combines action, conspiracy, the discovery of personal needs and of course, a super sexy space mercenary! The story began with Corso, the captain of the Asphodel, being waking up by a call from a stunning stranger, Benedetta, who ask him his help to save her planet. What a great way to start a day!
Benedetta is what we can call a sex slave, but from her point of view, she's one of the last treasures of her planet. Giving herself to Corso in payment for his hard work, the cap...more

There is usually a weak link in most anthologies, one story that pales in comparison to the rest, but all three stories in this anthology were very strong. I've never heard of KC Klein before and Erin Kellison & Jessa Slade are continually underrated. While the endings were a tad rush, for the most part, the stories fit the novella format admirably well. Erin Kellison's story reminded me of why I made such a big deal over Shadow Bound and Jessa Slade's contribution, "Enslaved by Starlight,"...more
I picked up HOTTER ON THE EDGE because I'm a huge fan of Jessa Slade's MARKED SOUL series, and I wanted to see how she would handle a science fiction romance. I was not disappointed in ENSLAVED BY STARLIGHT! Such a great story! Benedetta and Captain Corso - yum! I couldn't put it down and was left wanting more. TO BUY A WIFE by KC Klein, and ALL THAT GLITTERS by Erin Kellison were equally as good. Three mesmerizing novellas. I highly recommend them.
This science fiction romance anthology is a wonderful compilation of three talented authors' writing abilities. Science Fiction is not an easy genre to write, it takes not only imagination and skill but knowledge of scientific workings to pull it off convincingly. These three authors did it and did it well.
HOTTER ON THE EDGE is packed full with action, danger, intrigue, and passion. These three authors have pooled together to create an adventure into science fiction romance that I hope will be...more

Three very enjoyable Science Fiction Romance novellas. I liked all three. Each story is filled with conflict and has a strong female and a strong alpha male. None of the setting are the same and each story has a unique plot. If you like SFR pick this one up.

Stories have always been a central part of Erin Kellison's life. She attempted her first book in sixth grade, a dark fantasy adventure, and still has those early hand-written chapters. She graduated summa cum laude with a degree in English Language and Literature, and went on for a masters in Cultural Anthropology, focusing on oral storytelling. When she had children, nothing scared her anymore, s...more
