This book was so freaking good. I am so glad that I read it and I want to shout from the rooftop how much I loved this book. Even though it is shelved as chick-lit, I really enjoyed the romance. The tension is sizzling!

Sexy, protective, ridiculously hot French bad boy undercover agent - check. Hot chemistry - check. Wanted to switch place with Chloe - check.

I will not spoil the plot, it was that good! All I will say is that there was so many great twist and turns and for most of the time I had...more

It was one of those books that I thought I would not enjoy but as I always finish a book I carried on. This was a great example of why you should finish every book you start. Very light reading but with a French man to die for!

Paris is THE city of romance and who doesn't want to be kissed in Paris? However, what could be worse than being sent there, alone, on business, and the week before your wedding? How about the fact you wake up in Paris to find your clothes, passport and purse have been stolen? I have to admit to liking my girlie chick-lit reads to give me a warm, squishy feeling inside and the start of this one was quite the opposite. However, like all good things, I just had to wait. Chloe, a self-confessed con...more

Chloe wakes up in a Paris hotel with all her possessions stolen and almost no memory of how it happened. It's a week before her wedding back in DC, and now she's being investigated for fraudulent activities on her banking account. When a gorgeous french man says he's working with the government and will help her get her passport back and catch the man who stole them, she grudgingly agrees to go along with him on a race around France. Neither of them expected to end up liking one another, let alo...more

This was a complete impulse buy for me based off of the blurb alone.

I should also point out immediately that this book falls in neither a genre I like, nor a writing style I enjoy (I grabbed it before I was aware of either), yet the author was able to create a story that kept me interested enough to finish out the book.

This is the story of Chloe, an American woman sent to Paris for her job, who while there, ends up getting robbed. To make matters worse, she's supposed to be getting married withi...more

Love, love, loved! A great twist for the chick-lit genre! I read this in just two evenings, and would be thrilled to learn of a sequel. Chloe's transition from straight-laced, not a hair out of place, everything under control, was believable, timely, and real. You could *see* the transition taking place. I fell for Julien right along with Chloe; and while there were quite a few predictable moments, I was so engaged in the story, that I didn't care! There were some twists I didn't see coming, and...more

*****Inhale deep breath, sigh******

Yes it was clichéd, but still I smiled through it and that’s the main thing right?
It was also free.
Put bluntly this book was fun to read. I have given it 4 stars not because it is written so fantastically I can't rave enough about it. I've given it 4 stars because it has made me want to go to Paris and drink wine, eat food and find a French man! and also because I like smiling! ^_^

This was an impulse read for me. I read the blurb and thought it sounded entertaining.

And this one was- very entertaining that is. It jumps right into the thick of things after a Prologue made up of a flurry of emails that clears the deck for the action. The emails were a cute, interesting way of introducing some of the characters without having to spend a ton of time introducing them.
It opens with our uptight American heroine destined to be married in one week's time getting sent by her boss t...more

I loved this book and the book before it Sleeping with Paris by Juliette Sobanet.

Chloe Turner is sent on a last minute business trip to Paris the week before she is supposed to get married. Family is coming in to stay with her and her fiance, Paul, and they don't get along. Chloe wakes up naked in her hotel room with everything gone but a red dress she would never wear and 3 inch black heels. She slowly remembers meeting Claude in the bar.
As she is heading to get help she is stopped by the poli...more
Review Girl
This is the story of an impulsive girl (Chloe), who is robbed by a French conman (Claude). She decides to trust an undercover agent (Julien) who is apparently trying to save our heroine from the clutches of police in the hope to recover her passport so she can fly back to America in time for her wedding (which is in next few days!). Does this sound like a promising premise for a well-written novel? And the answer is, YES!!!

This madcap romantic comedy (I would not call it the usual chick-lit, it...more

This was much better written than a lot of the chick lit I have read in the past. You're dropped right into the plot and I felt like some of the relationships between characters could have been better developed, but the main relationship was somewhat believable. I liked the fast pace of this upon finishing it, though halfway through I thought that there wasn't much more they could really do with it. I was annoyed at the repetition that was frequent in the plot, the way she kept saying "in one we...more

One of the sweetest books I have ever read. A read that convinces you that fate does exist.

I was pleasantly surprised when I read Kissed in Paris . I had been expecting a quick, relaxing read that would not take much thought process. However, what I got was a book of the past and the future, of deception and of unexpected turnouts.

Although the ending itself was pretty straight-forward, I had not expected there to be so many layers behind Claude's theft. Nor had I expected the connection that...more

This romantic comedy is full of thrills and adventure and the more it progresses, the faster it gets. With the sensational opening chapter, which really sets the tone, mood and setting of the story. The book gives you a splendid tour of France and not just Paris! takes you to the beautiful countryside. What I loved most about this book is that it does not have the typical chick lit feel like the whining & sulking by the heroine or the search for a perfect bloke. Oh contrary, this book has th...more

Straight-laced (read: selfish, boring, emotionally distant) fiancé - check!
Rugged, drop dead gorgeous stranger who is polar opposite of said boyfriend - check!
Ridiculously contrived situations where stranger and heroine must kiss, or embrace closely (usually while scantily clad) to avoid the "bad guys" - double check!
Having to stay in rooms with only one bed - triple check!
Pretending to be in a relationship to make sick and/or dying relative happy - check!

"Kissed in Paris", I contemplated, why not? A book about Romance in Paris, I'll give it a go.

I am extremely glad I downloaded this surprise and tension filled novel! I couldn't put this book down. I was gripped from the first few pages and I wasn't disappointed at any point along the way. I'm not going to spoil the story for anyone, but I wasn't prepared for the contents of this book in any way. Everything was a wonderful surprise and there wasn't any point where the story became slow or uninter...more

I loved, loved, loved this story! It is a fast-paced romance that I would highly recommend.

When event planner, Chloe Turner, wakes up in her hotel room in Paris with nothing but a skimpy red dress (not her own), high heels, her underclothes, and a vague memory of the night before, she is in big trouble! Her wedding is in six days, how is she is supposed to fly home with no passport or money? Even her engagement ring is missing! To make matters worse, the police are questioning her over some su...more

Because I enjoyed Sobanet's first book, Sleeping with Paris, I picked up this one.

Kissed in Paris find Chloe waking up in Paris from a drugged state. Her luggage and purse are missing, as well as all clothing except for a red dress that she doesn't own. She remembers a flirty Frenchman whom she allowed to take her to her room. Chloe is in Paris on business and she is supposed to fly back today to finish wrapping the details on her upcoming wedding next week.

Chloe is approached by the police who...more

When I tell you that once I started reading “Kissed in Paris” I couldn’t put it down, it’s a reality not a cliché! The lead-in is creative and snappy, and the story continues to build from page to page - through to the last word on the last page. Juliette Sobanet’s characters don’t just exist – they live! Her descriptions of the French countryside, each back street and café take the reader on a colorful Parisian journey.

This is not just another love story – it’s wrapped in unpredictable intrigue...more

Oh Wow this was a really fun adventerous read. I stayed up all night to complete it, it was soo doggone good! I think in my very younger years I could easily relate to poor Chloe waking up not exactly remembering what in the heck happened the night before. Been there done that! So yep I totally knew that feeling. (Good grief I hope my mom's not reading this) LOL

But yeah if your looking for a fun, adventure filled romance this is it! At first I wasn't so sure I was gonna like it because as it op...more

This is a difficult book to review because although there were parts of it that I liked, there were things about this book that really drove me crazy. Parts of the story were entertaining, and parts were so overwritten as to be almost unreadable. It’s very uneven, in other words, and the bad pretty much outweighed the good for me. For one thing, the setup of the story is entirely too reminiscent of the movie French Kiss—right down to the heroine whose baggage is stolen, to the hero trying to rec...more

I have to say, I loved this book! In Kissed in Paris, we follow Chloe, an ultra-controlling event planner, and Julien, a sexy undercover agent, on their adventurous quest through France to find a cunning con-man who stole Chloe's engagement ring and passport. Chloe is getting married in less than a week, so the stakes are high, which really kept me turning the pages! The author does a great job at taking us to a few gorgeous French towns while still keeping the suspense high and the laughs rolli...more

Kissed in Paris is another great book by author Juliette Sobanet. Chloe is a straight-up character that has a hard time relaxing. She's all business. When she's conned by a French man a handsome secret agent, Julien, believes she is innocent. He offers to help her regain her passport and clear her name. There are so many tension filled, funny moments as Chloe and Julien race across France to recover her stolen goods. Chloe knows that Julien is keeping information from her, but that doesn't stop...more

Juliette Sobanet has literally become one of my most favorite authors of 2012!
After reading her first book, "Sleeping with Paris" I had to read her next one. I was not
disappointed at all! She had me engaged from the first paragraph and it never stopped until the very
end.
One of the welcome surprises was, this was not a sequel but a completely different story altogether.
I admire her ability to make me see, Paris and the French countryside in such clarity. Never do I ever struggle
to understand, who...more

This fun, fast-paced novel sweeps you into a wild chase through the countryside of France. Sexy undercover cop, Julien, and uptight American event planner, Chloe, are both after the same thing, but for very different reasons. Sparks fly as they race through Paris, Giverny, Annecy, and Lyon, but will control-freak Chloe learn to let her guard down enough to have a little fun before flying home to marry her straight-laced fiancée? Or has her cookie-cutter life in DC become so predictable, she can'...more

Too mushy. Thankfully no graphic details though. Plot was the same throughout book: "I want to leave!" "You can't." "But why?" "Trust me. You just can't." Repeat those four sentences over and over and you've just finished the book.

I wanted to like this book. I wanted to like it SO MUCH. But (and I realize how ridiculous this sounds), it was SO STRESSFUL. Like, so stressful to read. When the story finally started to unfold and I was able to relax a little, I really did realize how much I liked the story and the book. However, then it just got ridiculous at the end. The end was happy, yet really unbelievable and really ridiculous.

Also, I don't speak French and it was super annoying to have all these interactions happen in f...more

A cute story of misadventure and mistakes. If something can go wrong it will - and Chloe Turner steps right into it. For a straight-laced girl to be in Paris days before her wedding was troubling enough. Then to end up entrenched in a mystery and theft that would delay her return home and make her reevaluate her entire life - Chloe did not know what hit her! Racing through Paris with handsome Julienn in orde rto retrieve her passport and possibly her money, while lieing to her fiancee gives us a...more

While I found the first half extremely difficult to read, the last half of the book was enjoyable. The protagonist was a very selfish character and the storyline surrounding her was not believable and very circular. There are only so many times that a reader can tolerate a wedding count down with problem list ( how am i going to get home? What am i going to tell Paul? What am I doing?) I was wondering when the book would end.
Once the story got going, unfortunately well into the book, it was enjo...more

Kissed in Paris is the second book I've read from Sobanet. And it did NOT disappoint. This book is a bit more action packed than the first, but that only added something a bit different to it. Kissed was packed with emotion. Sobanet had me laughing out loud, but she also had me in tears. Her easy voice and pacing made the book fly by. Chloe is loveable and Julien is mysterious. Poor Paul! The parts about Chloe's mother are particularly poignant and you need to have out the tissues. You know a bo...more
