Legacy (The Tri-Realms Saga #3)
by
K.C. King (Goodreads Author)
“Had I not been so entranced by her, things might have turned out differently. My senses might have triggered more appropriate feelings of trepidation, and perhaps I could have prevented the treacherous act she would commit in the name of the mantle she craved. But I did not. And it was a grievous error for a mentor to make.”

First, it was a clean conclusion to the series.
I enjoyed reading it, but it was definitely short and seemed to rush through things that should have been fleshed out better. I felt a few a of the characters made a significant departure from their previous selves and this made the book a little difficult to take at times. I was fairly annoyed with how Bree handled, or rather let Hannah handle her. Also the love-triangle aspect seemed entirely forced upon Bree, and wasn't necessary, as it should ha...more

Amongst all the long words that went straight over my head, there was a beautiful story with a lot of history - both family and ethereal lore. Lots of twists and turns and not predictable.
I loved dreamy protective Sebastian, could take or leave Alaik and Hannah & Erasmus lost a few brownie points in this one.
After reading a review for this book about team Alaik I was worrying all the way through that he actually had a shot, thank goodness he didn't, he never had a chance. Still lots I didn't...more

Once again, the whole series was a hit for me. Her writing style and word choice was just phenomenal, and again, super refreshing for this type of genre. I had feared I would never experience something that didn't feel extremely cheesy in the YA fantasy genre, which I love so much. But this book proved me wrong. The characters were all generally likable, and the love triangle always interesting ;)

It took me a while to get used to the writing style of K.C. King, but after I did I enjoyed this series. I like the paranormal aspect, the plot, and characters in the book. The thing I loved about this book is how balanced it was.. which is funny because that is an aspect of the book.. to find balance. It had its ups and downs, even the last chapter left me wanting to cry tears of sorrow, then immediately tears of joy. The Tri-Realms Saga was thoroughly a delight to read.
So far I feel like the author was more interested in using all the big words in the dictionary rather than write a good story. The imagery of the realms only goes so far in explaining what the heck is going on. Hannah is really annoying and Bree is playing it rather dumb in this book - she has been ever since Hannah showed up. The order of events seems to disagree with the story, but it could be because I'm just reading too fast to get to the end of the book. I enjoyed the first 2 volumes but fe...more
Good end to the series, but story felt a little rushed. There was also a point where the story shifted and it didn't make sense. It was like the author changed her mind versus strategically leading the audience in that direction. Really think book 2 and 3 should have been combined or this one expanded much more. It was a fun series, though.
By far the best book of the series...
Spoilers .....
I was a little disappointed that she didn't choose Alain, his love for her seemed more strong. Bastian definitely loved her but it just seemed forced.
Also the part about who was the dissident was a little unclear. Was Bree or was it Hannah or was it both of them?

I didn't enjoy this series as much as others. The way they talked and the descriptions of the ethereal lore didn't seem to flow smoothly. I didn't like Hannah at all and Bree was such a push over. I wasn't invested in the love story and felt like I was mainly 'told' things instead of experienced them. Maybe it was hard for me because I just finished Intuition (The Premonition #2)

I really enjoyed this series all together. I do feel it was a bit anticlimatic overall. But I was glad to see that true love won out, even faced with all the confusions, adversities, and obstacles. I did feel sorry for Alaik in the end. I do hope that there will be a story that shows us he too gets to experience the love that Bree and Sebastian share.

K.C. King's love affair with books began with Charlotte's Web when she was eight. A true Aquarian, she's a dreamer whose John Grisham obsession resulted in her choice to study linguistics and law. When she's not writing, travelling, or enjoying cappuccinos in kangaroo cups, you'll probably find her in her own world: Somewhere between Metropolis and Austen's 19th Century England.
