The good news: Bobby survived her Undead school trip. Bad news: her best mate, Smitty, is missing. Bobby knows she's got to find him even if it means risking it all and going out into the starving-zombie-infested wastelands again. Even if it means taking fellow survivors including a couple of old frenemies along for the ride. And even if the zombies are not the only ones w...more

Characters: This time round, Bobby is smarter and funnier. Seeing the 'apocalypse' through her eyes is entertaining because she is realistic but still able to see the farcical side of things like zombie cows. The others are all the same as ever, their character voices are very individual throughout. The relationships between the gang seem to be getting stronger (particularly between Bobby and Smitty, who she just couldn't stop dreaming about, much to my annoyance). There is a new member of the g...more

If you are a vegetarian then this might not be the book for you - there is so much floppy dead skin within this story that it would even make a butcher blush! This is the second installment in the gripping Zombie series, and it will certainly not disappoint, if you are gagging for a good horror read. This book starts where the Undead finishes off. No time is lost in bringing the dramatic bus crash into focus as it flips onto its side and everything turns to blank before being flung headlong into...more

I saw this in the shop and almost did a happy dance - I didn't think it would be out until next month!

It's just as good as the first one - witty, action packed and a bit of good old Bobby/Smitty romance. *spoilers below*

First of, lemme just say, BALD BOBBY? OHMYGODDDD, I was like wut? Still, it amused me how she worried about her appearance when they found Smitty and she was like, 'I MUST LOOK MY BEST' but not exactly in those words and stuff.

Characters were all tip-top-er-roo, Bobby still there...more

Holy-mother-o'-crap!
How?
How the f**** does she do it?
Please ignore my language but I have to know. Kirsty McKay is a genius. A god-damn-mother-fricking GENIUS!!!
I have to admit, after Undead, I was a little worried. I mean that book.....
it was amazing. It was full of heart pounding action, and she managed to keep us all guessing until the very end. Lucky for me I bought both of these books at the same time. I put down Undead and looked at Unfed thinking
How in the name of all that is unholy, wi...more

Unfed is just as funny and entertaining as book one and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The pace is quick and picks up throughout and kept me turning the pages. I was worried that Unfed might be too similar to book one, Undead, since this book once again sees Bobby running away from the zoms but Kirsty McKay managed to keep it fresh and different, there was a little more to what's going on in Unfed, so I didn't feel like I was just reading the same book again.
I absolutely love Bobby's inner monologue a...more

This book is a sequel, so anything you read about it will contain spoilers about Undead.

Unfed picks up where the previous novel left off: on the bus that rescued Bobby, her friends, and her mother from the hordes of zombies roaming the Scottish countryside. Only now, the bus is rolling over in a horrific accident. Bobby is thrown, and wakes up to find Smitty trying to lift some heavy debris that has fallen over her body. She drifts in and out of consciousness, finally awaking in what she's told...more

I did not read the first book, Undead but I would imagine my reactions would be something like this.

SQUEEEEEEEAAAAAAALLLLL

A++ FOR THE SUSPENSE/NON STOP ACTION

A++ for Bobby and the gang! Huzzah for the kids fighting against the adults and zoms in that ultra cool quick thinking way.

A++ FOR THE HUMOUR GOOD GRIEF HALF THE REASON WHY THIS TOOK LONG WAS BECAUSE I KEPT REREADING THE GOOD BITS (Trust me, there's quite a few)

A++ WOWZA for that ending! Did not expect for that to happen.

This follow-up to Undead expands the story, giving the reader more understanding of the big picture -- who the bad guys are and what's happened to the rest of the world. The stakes are raised for Bobby and company, now on the run from both the zombies and the zombie makers. Kirsty McKay keeps things action-packed and filled with adrenalin at all times, while building Bobby's inner story, in particular her relationship with her parents and her feelings for Smitty. And through all this the book st...more

Unfed is the sequel to Undead and is set six weeks later. Bobby wakes up in a hospital room to find that her mother is dead. Then another zombie attack occurs and she manages to escape. Bobby is determined to find Smitty using the clues left for her.

I picked up Undead last year when I received Unfed for review and I was so glad I did. The first book was a hilarious romp through Scotland featuring a gang of teens and lots of zombies. The sequel was just as good; there were plenty of laughs as wel...more

I loved Kirsty McKay's debut Undead and I was hoping we'd get to see a sequel so as soon as I found out that Unfed was being published I couldn't wait to read it. Once again the author has hit the ball out of the park and created a fabulous read that is perfect for zombie fans.

The story continues right after the end of Undead, Bobby and her friends have been picked up by another school bus and think they've managed to leave the zombies far behind them but when the bus crashes they quickly find t...more

Ever since I read Undead, all those months ago, I have never looked at school trips the same way! Unfed promised to be just as exhilarating and terrifying as its predecessor and I could not wait - I read it in two days!

It began six weeks later. Bobby's just come out of a coma after the rescue bus crashed, Smitty's gone missing and the rest of the gang, along with newcomer Russ, are stuck in a zombie-infested military (or possibly Xanthro) hospital, cut off from the rest of the world. Scary for d...more

Oh there are so many things i could say about this book, the first is description .

I'll start with the good things, there was a load more action this time around and Bobby even got her moment using a gun! By this point Bobby and co. were practically professionals in fighting Zoms description
I guess for Bobby it was all a bit like description

The plot for this one was entierally different to Undead, suprisingly so actually, because Bobby, Alice, Pete and new cherry chomper recruit Russ, i'll leave you to make up yourown mind abou...more

Undead was one of my favourite books from last year so I was really looking forward to the same non-stop action, humour and brilliant characterisation in Unfed. I wasn’t at all disappointed.

There’s an element Unfed that I enjoyed in Undead, loved in the beginning of this and then by the end I was in awe of it: Kirsty McKay’s skill in characterisation. Bobby, Smitty, Alice, Pete and Russ are all so themselves. Each has such a distinct voice that I could tell who was speaking before I was even tol...more

3.5 stars. Another wildly entertaining installment from horror-comedy writer Kirsty McKay. It was just as good as the first. Good news is there is going to be a third book!

Once again I am left hanging in awe. I don't know how she does it but she does. Hopefully there will be another book to this because I just can't get enough! I can't express my feelings enough in this review, but all I know is that it was as good as the last one and this time it came with a lot of unexpected turns that made me turn the pages until there was none left to turn. Maan, these characters are just the best, everything about each and everyone. I recommend it to people who've read the fi...more

Really witty and hilarious! Memorable characters and interesting plot. Had me laughing out loud at certain points, it is certainly my sense of humour :P Bobby was an excellent female lead she was awesome. Definitely not a disappointing sequel and I look forward to reading the next book (there better be another one!)

Another fantastic book. Love the jokes, the zombies, and oh yes the occasional romantic moments. :)
I am hoping for another book, though reading the ending I am sure we will get many more books.

This book was almost as fun as the first one. Nice follow up.
