Volume 2 was much smoother and more fluid than volume 1, making it a more enjoyable read. While the pace is clipped, it kept a tighter focus with fewer tangential story lines, making the story feel more seamless than before. Looking forward to volume 3.

Brubaker can blend classic crime fiction, mystery, noir, supernatural, etc., seamlessly together before you realize what he's doing to you. Anyone who loves noir mystery fiction but claims to disdain "comic" books will have no choice but to change their tune after reading Fatale, Criminal, or any of Brubaker's creator-owned works. Can't wait to see the twists and turns Fatale takes.

The writing here is even more fluid and well-paced than in the first one and the plot just keeps getting better and better. The blend of noir and horror here is just perfection.
