“Perilous Light” by Alyssa Rose Ivy was even better than the first book “Beckoning Light.” As before I was instantly drawn into the story and intrigued by the characters. I was so engrossed in the story I didn’t notice it was coming to end until I could no longer go to another page on my Kindle. I then gave a howl of disappointment as I did not want to leave my friends.

After I finished the first book Beckoning Light, I immediately picked up the second, Perilous Light by Alyssa Rose Ivy.
It is unusual that the second book is stronger than the first, but this is by far the better book. We get more adventure, more development of the characters, and a better look at this other world.

I must say that I was nervous about the second book in this series. I enjoyed the first, but the second really knocked it out of the park for me!!
I love the different cast of characters, but my favorite would have to be Liam. He is the type of guy that we all wish we had. Even just for a friend. He is sweet, caring and very protective over Charlotte.

Perilous Light is the second book in Alyssa Rose Ivy’s Afterglow trilogy. With lots of characters and civilizations, plus separate worlds, it might seem a little confusing to anyone who’s not read part one. But it follows the previous book nicely. {my thoughts} – This book picks up a year later after the first. It is written in the point of view of Charlotte, Calvin and Kevin. Charlotte is forced to come to terms with her position is the new Essence. Kevin is faced with learning how to lead innocent individuals into battle. Calvin is forced to walk away from the only individual that has offered him guidance in order to protect Charlotte’s well being.

Let me just say, I love Liam. Really I do. Charlotte and crew have been in Charleston a year after escaping Energo, but the time has come to go back. Perilous Light is the second book in the Afterglow series, and it is even more addicting than the first one. The biggest mistake I made was picking this book up when I had plans within a couple hours. It was hard trying to put it down to get ready. Just like in the first book, Beckoning Light, the viewpoints alternate among Charlotte, Kevin, and sometimes Calvin. Incredible sequel from a very promising Author! The book picks up a year after the last book and quickly dives in with plenty of adventure and romance. It is not long before they return to Energo for more adventures. Probably my favorite part is the further development of Kevin and Samantha. Also learning more about Calvin was very exciting. The story provides plenty of action, romance, and comedy. I can't wait to read the next and consider this book even better than the last!

Still tween friendly, but super short. This series was made into three, but could easily have just been two. And I'm just a teeny bit annoyed with the ease that Charlotte feel back into letting her dude make decisions and stuff for her. Maybe she will get over that in book 3. She better.
This book i thought was better than the 1st one but im torn still between Liam and Calvin, I like Calvin because hes sweet to her but then I like Liam because I think he really cares and love her.

I like really liked reading this book! I'm glad to hear more about their mom...I'm more visions to kno about Liam and what's going thru his mind..excited for the final addition of the series
