George has just about had it with Kevin Stoughton, his racist hoarder of a neighbor. Over the years, the aging widower has tried just about everything to deal with Stoughton's ever-growing pile of junk, from complaining to the city (to no avail) to building a privacy fence. But it looks like Stoughton has found a way to best George again... at least at first.

If George's neighbour could be more racist, sexist, offensive in any way... well AMD missed it!
Still dealing with the death of his wife, the final straw is the water fountain, especially to his bladder.
As George proceeds to enact his revenge upon the said water fountain he gets drawn in to the "game" more and more, some of the things he gets up to are quite amusing!
As the day wears on poor George finds himself in the hospital as the story takes a turn and all is revealed, have to say it really m

This is the in your face style of writing that is Allison M. Dickson. And it is the reason I absolutely love her writing. She has the talent of taking such a simple idea, and converting it to great story. I will say, after this story, I have a different take on fountains.

The disputes between neighbors frequently gets out of control. The not so sweet revenge of a neighbor scorned makes this a great quick read.

I thoroughly enjoyed this short story! Basically it's about neighbors who really don't care much for one another to say the least. George, the main character has finally had it with the disheveled and disgusting appearance of his neighbor's yard. He decides to plot revenge in a most humorous and gross way! It's a whacky example of what can happen when neighbors can't work together to find common ground and compromise. There's also a message to be had here about respect for others. George does ...more

The rating is more about the character George than it is about the story. The story is well written. Hell, the character is well written. know how sometimes you just don't like certain people? Not bad people particularly, you just don't care for them and don't want to spend any time around them. Well, that's how I feel about George. I don't like him and I don't like his behavior. He's just the sort of person I would give a fake grin to and some excuses about how I couldn't chat because ...more
