After breaking up with his girlfriend, Lucas joins the cast of a pirate show on a tropical island. What he doesn't know until too late is that there are two shows, one gay and one straight, and he's just joined the cast of the wrong one. He wants badly to stay on the island but he faces two obstacles: the show's sexy, alpha captain and his obnoxious but good-looking boyfri ...more

OK. I'm only giving this a 3 because of the crap ending. Actually, it's not even an ending because the story just stops and then there's a note to check out her other books on Amazon. If I hadn't gotten this free from Amazon, I would've been pissed because it's regularly 5.99. It's not finished!

So I'm ticked about that, but also because the book's actually pretty good. Seems like a realistic "converting the straight boy" story despite the fact I just cannot buy Lukas's reason for wanting to stay

I truly enjoyed this story! Considering how far fetched the premise I thought this would just be mindless fun but as I continued to read I began to fall in love with these guys! I love the sexual tension, the humor and the glimmer of pain caused by past betrayal and disappointment that all the characters at varying parts of the story (and books) convey kept me so absorbed that I immediately purchased the other two companion books eager to learn the ending. The entire story unfolds over three le

Tyler ruins this for me. I think he's the most unlikable character that I've ever come across. He's insufferable. I'm pretty sure the second book is going to go deeper into why he acts that way, but I really don't give a fuck. I don't care how he he was hurt in the past. I don't care about his jealousy and insecurity. I don't care about his secret attraction to Lucas. I don't care about any of that shit. He's a horrible person, and he can't be redeemed. I want him to die.

This was a humorous, sexy story about a guy who finds out more about himself than he ever wanted or expected to when he takes a job as playing a pirate for a show on a Caribbean island. Lucas recently broke up with his girlfriend and doesn't have anything in the way of job prospects when he sees an ad for a pirate show. He's so excited to get the job, and it's when he arrives in paradise it's everything he thought it would be - until he finds out the show is a gay sex show. But, he doesn't want ...more

Sadly, the story just ended abruptly :(

I don't know what to say about this book....It was well written and had an interesting premise. The angst was over the top - I kept having to put the book down. Instead of feeling like a coming out story, it felt ominous. It hurt my heart a little that the MC was peer pressured and financially pressured into maybe being someone he wasn't. I don't think that the author intended it to be this way, but that's how I perceived it.

Additionally, the ending should have made this a 2 star read for me. I

A fun look at Lucas, a supposedly straight man, who mistakenly joins the crew of a gay pirate show. Definitely not great literature but an entretaining story.

I did not think I was going to like this book.... Boy was I wrong, It was comical yes they plot may be a little odd and off and out there... But it was still good

This was a fun read. Lucas is in need of a change of scene and new job after he and his girlfriend split up. He applies for and gets a year’s contract working on an pirate show on a Caribbean island… only what he doesn’t realise until he gets there is that it’s an adult gay pirate show. The ship’s captain, Adam, agrees that Lucas can stay on even though he’s straight and act the part – however, Adam’s partner and first mate, Tyler, is not impressed as he doesn’t believe that Lucas can do it. 3.5 rounded down to 3.

I guess the important thing is that despite a laundry list of things I did not like about this book, I not only finished it quickly, but promptly bought and started the second book (and then the third).

The second book isn't so much a sequel as a continuation (one larger book was obviously broken into three parts), so there was never any wrap up between books 1 and 2 that might have afforded me a moment to say, "Do I want to read more about these guys?" It was either get boo

Enjoyed the book - really shows the struggle people go through when coming to terms with their sexuality. I enjoy any book that is a coming to age and finding your true self. This is a what this book/series is all about. Book 3 is the best of the series because that is when Lucas falls in love. Will read additional titles from this author.

The book has kind of a silly premise and very little sex. However it's very erotic and quite a lot of fun. Even though the ending is abrupt, I still recommend it.

I think the setting is more fantasy than anything else, but actually the characters are nicely developed, three-dimensional, and you get the sense the author actually understands what it's like to realise that you're gay. The protagonist doesn't wake up one morning and decide he loves cock, his attraction to the men around him, and his confusion about what it means, develops slowly and realistically. Looking forward to part 2.

Just as hot as when it was online only. Owens knows how to work the sexual tension until it cuts like a knife. Great characters, great location, and very well-written.

Talk about sexual tension!! I can't wait to read the next one :)
