I'm having loads of fun researching my new novel -- digging around the downtown L.A. library shelves, unearthing books such as this one. I assume it's self-published, since I can't find any publisher information in the book. But it's well written, and best of all, it's personal. In 1970, Lucy Caldwell decided she needed to do something for the Vietnam War effort, so she set off to Saigon -- via Singapore, with a one-way ticket, economy class (this explains the title) -- and got herself a job ...more
