Despite the fact that I was born and raised in Northern Ontario, or perhaps because of it, I have little interest in the wilderness – with its blackflies, foot-trapping tree roots and impenetrable foliage that delights in getting a city slicker hopelessly lost.

Today my wife and I live in Burlington, a Southern Ontario urban community where our idea of roughing it is to use a backyard barbecue fuelled by charcoal briquettes rather than propane.
