Short story about Tait, who is new at the company after leaving his old job because of a bad breakup with his boyfriend.
But Jude has his eye on Tait! Cute read.

Pender Mackie's "Swept Up in Blue" is more of a tease than anything else. Tait is a loner at work & pretty much spends most of his free time alone. When a co-worker invites him to a retirement party for one of their co-workers, he reluctantly agrees to go along with an outside chance that he could meet a gay co-worker named Jude. When the 2 do meet, it's a bit awkward & also a bit unsettling for Tait whose had a bad office romance before. When Jude offers to take Tait home he agrees ...more

This was a very nice, very short meet-cute story. The main character's conflict- his interest in a co-worker despite having sworn off office romances after a previous bad experience - was nicely resolved. I liked everything about the story, but wished it had been a little longer and that there had been a little more interaction between the men (perhaps at the party) to show they might have had something in common besides their mutual physical attraction. Overall, it was a quick and sweet read.

Actually, this book made me hungry.
Tait and Jude were both really good making me craving Pizza. Now I'm hungry.

The story was good with so much potential here and there.
They can make a cute couple if this story a bit longer.

Overall...it's quite entertaining but I still didn't like the way they made me hungry. For Pizza.
Damn.

This short was really quick and cute. Nothing really complex, just a sweet story. Great for a quick read between longer books.

Nice short!

A little too short. But you can feel the heat between them.

Jude’s eyes were an almost luminous blue. Blue like his shirt. Blue like the lake a teenage Tait had swam in every summer. He could almost see his reflection swimming around in all that blue right now.

First of all ~ 100% I LOVE the cover !!!

Second, I LIKE the story.

Third, the story is way way TOO SHORT !!!!

Fourth, I want more !!!

Very well written story. Well, honestly, it's more of a moment-in-time than a full story. I'd consider it a chapter that was sweet and exciting. Pender is a great writer with a way of sweeping you into the moment. Would have loved to have the 'what came next' chapter too! ;-)

Cute story about a budding office romance. Tait is reluctant to get involved with Jude after his last office relationship ended badly. I would have like to have seen this story taken a little bit further than it was.

This is a very nice short story. Something that anyone who has ever worked in an office environment can relate to. So nice to see two guys who wanted more from each other than a quick roll in the hay.

The character's name is Tait...
this is such an awful name choice and I have really nothing else to say about it...
Reading Tait... all I could see was 'taint' and that's... no
not at all good parallels to be drawing when attempting to read.

It needs a little Moorish I think

Not really a full story so much more could've been added to make it better.

Short co-worker set up a date. Some eye-catching and mild groping in a car then boom it's over.

So Not what I was expecting.

I thought this was a novel, but boy was I disappointed.
Blue is my weakness and it duped me.
Sigh, still... it was pretty good. Keep up. and keep trying.

I liked this story. I thought it was a cute not-quite-office romance. I would love to see more of the coming relationship between these 2 cuties.

Fun Story

This was a good story. Work relationships are tough sometimes but in this story it all worked out for the boys.

A very short but lovely read, perfect for a coffee/lunch break.
Tait and Jude work at the same company but only meet at a colleagues retirement party - sweet start to something more, yum!

Cute little story without a great deal of depth; it held my attention and while I certainly wouldn't mind more, I don't feel completely cheated by where it left off. Just a nice, quick read.

An imaginative child, Pender wasn't a willing student. Her father — deciding some incentive was needed — promised her a pony as soon as she could read.

Properly motivated, Pender picked up a book and discovered the joys of fiction. Though her infatuation with ponies didn’t last, she still loves a good story.
