If you had any feelings that Enchantment was a fluke, you were dead wrong!

On my review of Enchantment I said it was a sweet love story... if that's true Taken it's slight darker counterpart. While I really enjoyed Enchantment I loved Taken. I had not expected to like Enchantment so much when I picked it up but it pleasantly surprised me. Taken pulled me out of my chair into a gripping adventure, it was absolutely more my style. I still feel like you can safely let your teens read this series and...more

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

It’s always exciting to receive an advance copy of a book you’ve been dying to read. You feel a little special and nervous at the same time. You wonder will this book be as good as the first. Will I be able to honestly give a great review after the author shared their hard work with you?

Let me just say, I have no problems here. This book starts off about right where we left off. Channie and Josh together at last but in a peril...more

What a ride! Taken is the second book in the Channie series and I absolutely cannot wait for the third!

The title: Perfect – although I didn’t understand it until the very last chapter.

The heroine, Channie: Young, honest, considerate and real. She doesn’t always make the best decision, but all her decisions are pure of heart. Channie is one of those fictional characters that I’d like to hang out with for a day.

The hero, Josh: He is level-headed, strong, and deeply in love with Channie. I like tha...more

I did not like this book quite as much as the first book, but I still liked it. I think I would have liked this book better if the characters were older, but I struggled with shy, quiet Channie spending all her time with Josh in bed. I would have liked to have gotten more of them doing normal couple things, not just sneaking around and hooking up in the back of Josh's car. I understand that it was somewhat a product of their circumstances, but, as Channie pointed out, they went from doing nothin...more

(view spoiler)[A cold wave of fear quenched Channie's anger. Their bond was stronger - even after that unsatisfying quickie - but a magical bond was no match for selfishness. She'd hurt Josh's feelings on purpose. He'd given in to his carnal desires with no thought to what she wanted, but he'd been swept away by his desire for her. It was actually flattering, now that she thought about it.

Seriously? Flattering? Oh yes, especially the way he immediately jumped up and stomped out like a toddler wi

Okay so number 1 when I downloaded the book it did NOT say it was a sequel. So I came into the book a bit behind others. I let this be known because honestly I feel it dampened my ability to get attached to Taken. Book 2 did a lot of repition but it was always going over crap said 15 pages ago and not book 1. Very little was given away as to wth happened in the previous book, any characterization, plot, rules of the world, or political structure most of the time was explained well past the point...more

I received this book for the author for free for an honest review.

Okay Charlotte Abel you are now one of my favorite authors!! I loved this book. It was better then the first one because the characters are coming into their own. We get a more mature sense of Channie and Joshes relationship, even if it includes a lot of sex lol. I like how we get to see Josh learn and grow with his powers. I liked how Hunter, even though he was in love with Channie step down and let Josh be her man and helped jos...more

I had the wonderful opportunity to read this story. And I must say, Charlotte Abel has outdone herself. The story of Channie and Josh runs twist and turns that rival a modern day roller coaster. Never say that things get easier for those two, because it didn’t.

Life together brought on a whole other set of challenges that this couple had to face. Being independent wasn’t easier than living with their families. Like all people, mistakes would be made along the way. Charlotte capitalizes on this t...more

"Taken", is the second book of the "Channie" series and what an awesome continuation of the series. I stayed up all night last night as I could not put this book down!
Josh and Channie continue on their road to being married and have many struggles along the way. This book takes them through many hard times but through it all they remain strong in their love for each other. Most of the people from the last book revisit in this one and it was nice to get to see Abby (Channie's sister)as well as be...more

This series gets better with each book. I love how you can feel the depth and devotion between Channie and Josh in the way the story is written. It was a real page turner with lots more action than the first book. I am anxiously waiting for the next book

Talk about lightning striking in the same place twice, that's exactly what Abel did with Taken. Taken did not disappoint, the storytelling was as riveting as Enchantment. I'm still reeling from reading the pages of such an intense and fast driven story. Things never slowed, Channie and Josh were always on the go. Channie and Josh's life got more complicated as the story progressed, when it looks like fate might give them a break they have to face another obstacle. The evil magic book continues t...more

I should say that this book was better than the previous one. The characters have grown and with them the author's skills. The beginning was a little slow, and kind of made me want to slap Channie and Josh for being such crybabies. It felt like the only thing Josh wanted to do was have sex and that's it. It was so annoying.
I was so glad about that encounter with the two trackers, that you wouldn't believe it!! Finally everyone was rushing to do something meaningful! Something other than argue o...more

Thank you SOOOO MUCH Mrs. Charlotte Abel for writing this book!!! and for sending me an ARC copy (even though I bought a copy and re-read it too LOL)... If I could say in one sentence how I feel about this book, it's this.... Maghon says, "a book that had me happy, sad, frustrated, conflicted, emotional, and DEVASTATED all in a few hours time (as I DID NOT put it down for anything, or stop reading)... I WILL NOT compare you to any other author, as you are unique in your own, and you deserve to h...more

So, I just finished this book. It took me a really long time to get through it and several starts and stops. I finally made myself plow through it.

It gets 2 stars because the end of the book does pick up and the story gets better. However, for most of this book I was just annoyed. Again, it felt like the whole book focused on sex and how soon the main couple could get back to enjoying each other physically.

I don't think I'm going to continue with the series because my reaction to both books ha...more

Sequel to Enchantment….MUCH BETTER! I think I liked it more because I didn’t have to deal with the ‘parent’s as much. This book focused more on Channie and Josh and their relationship, and well, how to make it one step at a time. It has been by far an easy relationship; they’ve been through a LOT! The fact that Josh is actually ‘Magically Gifted’ and quite powerful, makes it a bit difficult for Channie to deal with the fact that she has lost her ‘magic’ and is now a regular human. I’m glad they...more

In the second installment of Channie's story, we pick up right where we left off with a married Josh and Channie hiding out in the Ozark mountains. If you at all felt even the slightest bit bored or aggravated with Channie in the first book...you won't feel that way with Taken, I can promise you that.

Channie has grown up quite a bit in Taken. Josh still struggles between what he knows to be right and what could potentially save his and Channie's lives. Hunter is still a wee bit annoying, but I...more

Ok, so this book was much better then the first. This book is the reason why i don't give up on a series when the first book is lacking.

Josh really stepped up in this book as the total badass. however this isn't without issues, His power name stops him for doing curses on people that he feels doesn't deserve it. Again this is a good thing for a hero. '

Channie is more of a cheerleader in this book. But i'm ok with that, this series shouldn't be named for channie, but after josh last name. they b...more

I read several reviews that sex was mentioned too often in the book, but I think the author does a brillant job at describing the two worlds these teenagers live in. She reminds us that even though Josh and Channie are part of a magical world, they are still in fact teenagers and face all of the same issues teenagers face. What 18 year old boy doesn't have sex on his mind all of the time? Even though Josh and Channie constantly talk about strengenthing their bond, the author does have them wait...more

I really really really enjoyed this story! I knew I would from reading the first book in the series but I would have never ever expected this ending! The story has so many turns and twists that it keeps you wanting to keep reading just to see what happens. Loved the road trip they take, it even mentioned Oklahoma!

Hunter really came out in this book, we got to really understand him and he is such a good guy that fell in love for the wrong girl but I think he will find his own and not the one he...more

I've been meaning to review this for a while:)I'll finish it up soon, but i just wanted to say what an amazing author Charlotte Abel is and how great this book is. I loved it, theres even a quote in the synopsis above that quotes me saying that I loved it and couldnt put it down!
If you liked Enchantment, then you will love Taken. It is everything you loved about Enchantment and more, more action, more magic, more love. And when it ends, your going to wish the third book was already out. The char...more

this is freaking OH MY GOSH!! I'm all hysterical here! How can Charlotte Abel ended Taken like that! this is so not happening! where's the damn third book?! I won't have a peace of mind until I read the sequel! *deep breath* okay, I'm really trying to stay calm here. So, finishing Taken really blows my mind! I mean, WHAT THE HELL?! my heart was broken after what happened to Channie and Josh at the end. that really stung. but anyway, I'm so much loving this book inspite of the heartbreaking endin...more

First I want to state that although I was given this book as a gift from the author in exchange for a review, my review is my own opinion and not influenced by anyone, author included. The only thing that I took into account was that this book was not only the second in the series, but the second published book by this author, so of course there's a few mistakes here and there.
It's a very good book & a unique story. I'm really hoping that there is a 3rd book in the series because the ending...more

Charlotte has done it again! We pick up where Enchanment left off with Channie and Josh sort of, kind (and no I'm not going to tell you why I said that will you read the book) of happily married and living in a shack. Teenagers acting like bunny rabbits but also scared of everything that's unknown in the world especially what'll happen to them during this upcoming war.

Not only do we see Josh and Channie stronger then ever we see them take on a whole new kind of crazy with Channie's mother (you'...more

Enjoyed the dynamic and evolution of the characters. I feel bad for Josh - it pretty much always feels like he's sacrificing everything in his life for Channie. He actually did have a great shot at making a (non-magical) name for himself. Anyhow, I do think the author made the characters as realistic and likable as possible. Characters make decisions I don't necessarily agree with but I can understand them nonetheless.

Pretty well written, contains the same elements as before (magic, romance, etc...more

I really liked the story of Taken! It picks up where Enchantment left off after Josh and Channie had just been married. The book is full of action and surprises! You will not be able to guess how things turn out! I personally felt that the subject of Josh and Channie strengthening their heart bond through intimacy was talked about too much throughout the book. It seemed to me that it was brought up in every chapter and I felt that it wasn't needed, the story is great without all of that! I reall...more

This installment was better than the first one - more eventful and exciting, but also more tragic and heartbreaking. Josh was a selfish jerk at first, but then he improved a lot. Channie was her old self with many foolish decisions and actions, especially in the end with her stupid idea of no-remember spell. I liked Channie's Daddy in this installment, and Hunter was hilarious! Who were truly adorable - triplets - awesome kids! The book is a page-turner, but too much tortures for protagonists t...more
