ALL THE PLEASURES OF THE SEASON by Lecia Cornwall is a delightful historical romance for any season which is set in Regency England. What a delightful story of love, romance, inheritance,a marriage for money or will it be,sweet sensuality and family. When you realize all you want for Christmas is the man you can't have,Gilbert Fielding, with no title and the second son to a minor baron, but you are engaged to one Lord Anthony Stanwood, the Earl of Kelton, who is only after your inheritance, the only t...more
When I got this eBook to review, I was SO excited. I'd heard good things about this author and I wanted the chance to join in on the fun. I was not disappointed! This book left me with a feeling of utter Christmas-y romance and I want to go back and read again and again, whether it's Christmas or not!
Ms. Cornwall fills this story with wonderful characters. Even the rich, conceited and VERY un-likable one, the Earl of Kelton. With a mix of fun, lovable characters with some unlovable ones, there's...more

Lady Miranda Archer believes she has found the perfect man but the moment she accepts his proposal the ice forms on him and she begins to regret her decision. Her heart truly belongs to the second son of a baron, Gilbert, but being the granddaughter of a duke she knows that marriage can never happen. Thankfully, her brother knows that the Earl of Kelton is no good for his sister and when Mirandas precious sapphires from her late mother go missing and turn up in the most unexpected spot, the enga...more

Miranda Archer has made a grave mistake; that much is clear. The man to whom she's engaged, the Earl of Kelton, is on the outside the picture of perfection for a member of the ton. But he does not stir Miranda's heart. She's making a good match, though, and Miranda is willing to sacrifice for the hope of a good marriage.
Her brother, Phineas, has other plans. He convinces the man Miranda loves and who loves her in return, Gilbert Fielding, to simply dance with Miranda at the upcoming bal...more

I was really excited to read this book. These types of tropes are normally some of my favorites but with this one I felt like it was just missing something. I didn't really feel any chemistry between the hero and heroine. I'm not sure if it's because this was a novella and the author just didn't have enough time to develop their relationship but I honestly had trouble believing in them and their feelings towards one another. Don't get me wron...more

Out of all of her suitors she knows that marrying the Earl of Kelton is the most advantageous to her and her family. I almost never read Christmassy books. But I REALLY liked this one!
So Lady Miranda is a girl who has a big sense of duty and wants to please her grandfather and all. Which is why she seems like a total pushover when we first meet her. Cause seriously, getting engaged to a man she hardly knows well enough to share a dance with, let alone a life? That's just a recipe for disaster. Well except for the romance novels where said gentleman is actually the hero of the novel. But that is definitely not...more

I loved reading All the pleasures of the season. It’s a fantastic read and perfect for the holiday season, when we need a quick – and strong- romance book ’cause we simply don’t have enough time to read a full novel!
The romance was very emotional, beautiful and delicious to follow its development. Miranda at first appears as the stubborn lady who wants to please her father and ignore her feelings, a typical heroine, but she reveals her real feelings when Gilbert shows up and she’s conflicted abo...more

Oh Lady Miranda Archer, what a dilemma: marry the golden boy of the ton (the Earl of Kelton) who seems perfect for her and make her grandfather and sister happy or try to make it work with the second son of a minor baron who she's had a tendre for quite some time.
5 Things I Loved, Liked or Wanted to Slap Silly:

Gilbert was too unsure of himself but Miranda knew who she loved. Nice short story of knowing the right one for you.
