WOLF LINE starts with lovable Jared running from the big brothers of a woman he slept with. He runs right on to a shifter only cruise ship before it sets out. Not wanting to give himself away, he impersonates a pack mate who didn’t show for his maintenance job (probably hung over, per Jared) and then he see Keri…and walks right by his mate, oblivious.

Keri knows instantly that Jared is her mate and can’t understand how he’s physically able to walk right b...more

I pre-ordered this one, but for a number of reasons I never got around to read it until now. And I am glad I read it.

It was nice to re-visit the Granite Lake wolves, and get another insight into the world that Ms Arend has created. Unlike the previous books, which took place in and around Haines (mostly), this book took place at a cruise ship. Which has its problems. I loved how the demands from the passengers and the unexpected problems affected Jared's and Keri's relationship.

At first glance,...more

"Running away from the big brothers of his current lover, Jared finds himself jumping aboard a cruise ship to avoid getting caught. Never one to pass up a good prank, he pretends to be his pack member and joins the ship crew as a maintenance worker. What begins as a prank ends with him being stuck on the ship for the duration of the cruise impersonating someone else, fighting his attraction to his mate and trying to stop a jewel thief intent on framing him for the thefts.

I’ve read only one other Vivian Arend book, and I had a great time with it. So I was more than happy to sit back and relax while reading this one. Unfortunately, true relaxation didn’t come until the second half of the book.

Jared himself is trying to relax with a cup of coffee when his pack mates join him. He enjoys their company and likes being part of their pack. After some teasing and talk about upcoming work, Jared notices a couple of goons lumbering his way, so on the run it is. He ends up...more

This is the first book I've read of this series although they have been on my "to read" list for quite some time. While I may have recognized some of the other characters if I had read the rest of the series first, I didn't feel I was lost or missing out on anything by having read this one first. It definitely made me want to read the rest of the series as soon as possible.

I read this in one sitting and found it to be a fun and sexy novella that has the female under the grip of the mating urge b...more

The wolfies are back! I have loved Vivian Arend’s Granite Lake Wolves since I read the first book a few years ago. This book, Wolf Line, is this fifth of the series and introduces us to a new set of characters within the same pack. We even have some brief encounters with the core leadership of the pack.

The main characters in this story are Jared (who poses as Mark for a while) and Keri. Keri’s best friend, Tessa is leading a cruise for the first time. Ke...more

Jared is always chasing the ladies but this time, he's being chased by a certain female's family. An opportunity presents itself for him to hide out on a shifter cruise ship so he does. He immediately meets Keri who recognized Jared as her mate but can't figure out why Jared is not reacting.

I really liked this story even thought it was short. Jared was sweet and I enjoyed the play on him not having a sense of smell. I thought his background was interesting and liked how it played into jewel thef...more

I absolutely adore Arend's Wolfie books and this one is yet another great addition to the series.

It's a fun story full of misunderstandings, sexual tension and sizzling hot romance.

Usually I don't like romances that are full of misunderstandings (they often make me cringe and want to kick the characters), but Arend manages to pull it off in a way that I enjoyed. It didn't feel forced and it never got to a point that it started to annoy me. Instead it drove the story forward in a natural way.

Wolf Line is another hit for Arend. Book five brings everything you expect from the Granite Lake Wolves series; a little mystery to solve, tons of humor, and sexy shifters.

Jared is the easy going ladies man of the group. He has a secret, well...a couple of them actually. You will fall in love with him from page one and that makes it all the better to see how completely he falls for his mate. And yeah she finds out his secrets, isn’t that what mates do?

Keri is also a fun character to read. She...more

I really enjoyed this book, as I always do with anything Vivian writes. This book though, has to be one of my favorites of the series and that she's written. I love this whole series but this one is much more entertaining than the other books. It's full of funny, entertaining, quirky characters and a great story.

Jared is a really easy going werewolf, spends a lot of time messing around and having fun, though he knows when to be serious and get down to business, so it was very amusing to see him...more

MinnChica: I’ve long been a huge fangirl of Arend, and her Granite Lake books are amongst some of my favorites. This novella was no exception. I love that these shorter books are so fun and light and are so easy to get into. I loved the idea of a cruise ship for just shifters, and both Keri and Jared were such fun characters!

E: It was great getting to see the Granite Lake wolves again if only for a few minutes. I l...more

This was such a cute story. In pretty much the same style as the previous books in this series, WOLF LINE has everything you'd want, delivered in a short story. I had no expectations about Jared and we didn't know Keri. But there's some humor, some intrigue and action, and most importantly two adorable characters who are nowhere ready (or so they thought) to meet their mate. But when they do meet, they are great and connect right away, fireworks and all!...more

I've read every story in the Granite Lake Wolves series at least twice, some three times. To say I'm a fan is an understatement. Wolf Line is the newest story in the series, and it's a little different than the others-- Jared isn't an alpha, and he has a few faults, but he's a likeable guy. He just didn't appeal to me as much as the other guys in the series. Keri, the story's heroine, is great, and in the end they fit together amazingly. I thought the location of the story, which is an all shift...more

One minute Jared is enjoying a beautiful morning, having coffee with his alpha and fellow pack mates, the next he’s vaulting over the railing and running from two men who recognize him. He’s assuming it has something to do with a woman, but he’s not sticking around to find out. As he runs, he finds himself boarding a cruise ship docked at the harbor. When the staff assumes he’s someone else, he goes along with it, thinking he’ll disembark as soon as the co...more

I have enjoyed this whole series so far, and this is no exception.

Though the other stories have all been about those high in the pack structure or related to them, Jared and Keri are both middle of the pack type wolves which is nice.

Jared and Keri are both working on a cruise ship (though he's there accidently and under a packmate's name). Keri's just about jumping out of her skin after meeting him, but he's mostly ignoring her and she's very confused. Hijunks ensue as Jared finally figures out...more

There's just something about the way Mrs. Arend to write shifters that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I've come to realize that if I'm in the mood for a romance with a little fur, without the roller coaster of drama, she is the one to go to. Light and warm, her Granite Lake Wolves always keep me coming back for more.

In this installment, we meet Jared and Keri. Keri is helping her friend run a shifter-exclusiv...more

Wolf Line I only my second time reading Vivian Arend's work, but I can promise it won't be the last one! I really enjoy her writing style, her stories and the characters she's created. Plus, Arend definitely knows how to write some great sexual tension!

You haven't read the wolfies yet? Seriously?

The last thing Granite Lake wolf-shifter Jared wants is get a job-job, especially one that doesn’t involve the kind of sweating and noises from frolicking with a female but it may be time. His wolf-anizing ways have caught up to him in the form of a couple of thugs and Jared has to hide quickly (really not his fault). A cruise ship is waiting in the harbor with all its hiding spots and crowds. It has to be kismet that they’re expecting a packmate to ch...more

This was such a fun book. There wasn’t any intrigue to get over. It was just plain fun from beginning to end. Now I need to go back and grab the first four books in this series after being hooked right away! But don’t let that fool you, you don’t need to have read the books in the series to understand and enjoy this one. You will just want to read them if they are as good as this one is!

Jared is just enjoying his morning after with a cup of coffee when he spots some guys in the crowd that he wan...more

Wolf Line is part of the Granite Lake Wolves series but you don't have to read the other stories in the series to read this.

This story is about Jared and Keri. Jared accidentally finds himself aboard a shifter only cruise ship and is stuck on board as the ship sets sail. He pretends to be one of his pack who was supposed to be working on the ship and gets stuck into his maintenance role. Keri is on board to assist her best friend and organiser, Tessa, to make sure the cruise runs smoothly for a...more

The wolfies are back!! Vivian Arend takes us back to the Granite Lake pack and this time it is Jared’s turn. Jared is the playboy of the pack; he has only a few rules when it comes to chasing potential bed mates and is well known to hop around. When the older brothers of his last bed mate take exception to his dalliance with their baby sister, he takes refuge on the Wolf Cruise Liner as it’s docked ready for its new journey. Problem is, he gets on just as it’s about to leave.

Jared finds himself in hot water as he is chased through the town by the family of his latest girl. He sees the cruise ship in port and thinks it would be the perfect place for him to hide out for a few minutes and until the coast is clear but when the ship leaves before he can make his exit he realises he's going to have to make the best of things. Thankfully one of his pack mates failed to turn up for their holiday job so Jared is able to take his place. Tessa is on the ship to act as a troubl...more

This was cute. I loved the banter & interaction between Keri & Jared. I have only read book 1, so I will be going back to read 2-4.

I wish it had been a little longer. I know, it's always my biggest complaint about novellas. But I felt like there was so much more development that could have taken place, and the ending could have been more satisfying ratger than a bit abrupt.

My thoughts:
I am a huge shifter fan. I really like the Granite Wolves series. Superb characters. The setting and main characters vary, but the constants...great romance, wonderfully portrayed characters and an interesting, entertaining storyline. Jared is fantastic and Keri is as good or better. The shipboard theif mystery is intriguing. It's a steamy, hot one - - -

This series is so much fun because we can see the wolfies getting in trouble and in love at the same time. Plus Vivian Arend writes really good sexy scenes. This mini books are like a bundle of jokes and laugh.

Jared was not what I expected because since book #3 I had the feeling he was just another sexual wolf, but after he shared his family ties and we learned more about his reasons for hiding. I didn’t even knew he was hiding in the first place,...more

Vivian Arend in one word: Adventurous. In a sentence: Willing to try just about anything once. That wide-eyed attitude has taken her around North America, through parts of Europe, and into Central and South America, often with no running water.

Her optimistic outlook also meant that when challenged to write a book, she gave it a shot, and discovered creating worlds to play in was nearly as addictiv...more
