What I liked most about this book was Nan Cappo's main character, Milo, a 17 year old boy who's just lost his father. In fact the story opens as the family arrives home from the funeral and Milo finds their house has been burglarized. Milo has a lot to deal with at a young age and that drew me in right away.

Milo's father was an accountant for Wolverine Motors, a successful fictional automaker in a very real Detroit setting. When Milo learns that his father might have embezzled a million dollars

Well done, for a debut book! But the ending was predictable. Recommended, and considering i got it free on Amazon, an excellent buy!

This is a young adult mystery and I really like it. The characters are rich and well-developed. The mystery is really that - a mystery that doesn't get solved until the very end. there is plenty of intrigue, and close calls. There is also realistic moral issues that have to be faced by these young people.

I think adults will like this as much as young adults. Of course, it is the young adults in the story who seek out and find the clues that unravel the mystery of Milo's father's death and the mi

I am an avid reader of smart, sharp YA/Crossover novels, especially ones with male protagonists who are real, soulful/edgy, and non-stereotypical. I also enjoy stories with mystery and suspense. Nan Willard Cappo's UNACCOUNTED FOR meets all of these elements for me.

From the first chapter on to the end, I felt carried along through Milo's journey. Not only did I want to know what happened next, but I also enjoyed being inside Milo's head and perspective. His is a "new adult" character with comple

A teenager's is good, father, who is a recovering gambler, finally has a job he loves; graduation is right around the corner, college with best friend as a roommate. Then the world falls apart! His father commits sucide, their house broken into while at the funeral, mother finds books on criminal accounting. How do you handle things that life just keeps throwing at you. The story is well-written with mystery, intrigue, romance and red herrings. Well suitable for young adults.
A thriller with some interesting twists. I figured out the big surprise pretty early which took away from some of the suspense. Characters are sympathetic and the story is a fun read overall.

My first published novel was CHEATING LESSONS (Simon & Schuster/Atheneum, 2002), in which a teenage girl must finesse a cheating scandal in her school. It won an Edgar nomination for Best YA mystery, and has been republished in print, ebook and audio in 2016.
My latest book is UNACCOUNTED FOR, also Young Adult but a bit edgier--suitable for mature teens and adults (has a male hero this time).
