A Look at What Our Society Could Evolve Into!

The Dark Yergall is a great dystopian fantasy set well into the future, but it has a disturbingly real resonance to the world we live in today. Much like the Orwellian society in 1984, this future world is creepy and punctured with mindless, thoughtless official propaganda designed to make the populace believe they reside in a utopia, even if the opposite is true. The author achieves his goal of presenting a grotesque, crazy, mind-numbing system, whil...more

If you're looking for a fast paced adventure that will keep you guessing (and laughing) then The Dark Yergall is for you. This is not your typical Dystopian future novel. The Dark Yergall is like Douglas Adams meets F. Scott Fitzgerald told through clean prose and well done character descriptions. Nosir Rag lives in a world filled with genetic manipulation and distractions which include 24/7 "news feeds" depicting everything from cola adverts to staged protests. The world of the Dark Yergall not...more

This futuristic scifi book resonates with many contemporary issues. As the reader follows reporter Norsir Rag's adventure they discover he lives in a world where genetic manipultion and government control is part of everyday Imkassian existence. The truth is something everyone has forgotten. But, Nosir has a nagging sensation that something is not right with world and is determined to find out. This book was easy and delightful to read as Norsir's journey is wrought with political intriuge, alie...more

I love dystopian novels even though they are bleak. Like sci-fi, dystopian novels speculate about what the future holds, but deliver a future that while advanced also seems frighteningly close to how we live today. Brave New World and 1984 are the best dystopian novels I have ever read but I am always eager to try and find rivals to their crowns. Would The Dark Yergall be such a book or a poor pretender?

Nosir Rag is a journalist who begins the story trying to locate Sarmus who has disappeared my...more

This was quite a neat and interesting world built for this book. With the government controlling practically all aspects of life with their bombardment of short news clips, entertainment, and advertising, this is very well how our world could turn out. The government, of course, would have everyone believe it's a utopian society, but the main character, Nosir, is going to find out firsthand if it is or not. I enjoyed the structure of this novel, with blasts of the info starting most chapters. Th...more

Meet Noisr and Mainco. Travel to Miranda. Get creeped out by the Yerggs. Lose your way at BureauOrg Central. Discover the Room of Never Was. Find out what an IROnic is. Witness a tidal wave of goo. Run up a spire chased by paras, and when you get to the top--keep going!

The Dark Yergall is my first book. It has humor, action and lots of surprises. Please give it a read!
