This book was so much better than the first and seeing as I loved that one, it's not a light statement. I devoured it in hours which isn't an easy task because it's on the long(ish) side.

Yes, those who've complained about sexual content will complain again. The first book was more about sexual awakening and teenage hormones, this one is not far from that seeing as sex still plays a good part of it, but I thought it had much more substance. On the plus size, the characters are older in this one.

It's hard to talk about it without spoiling anything, and I know how those spoiler tags are irresistible. I don't want to ruin it because it really is uncertain until the very end who she ends up with.

Jenna is a bit more mature, sure of herself. I loved that she really did mature in this book and I liked her with Robert. The way she just picked herself up after everything went down, that was pretty awesome. I think Robert was very unfair towards her, but she never lets it really break her.

But Robert... I don't know. Robert, I really liked you in the first book. I just didn't have the heart to root against you because you're a nice guy. The way you acted here was just - NOT you. You are not that hotheaded, you are patient and sweet and kind. WHY break my heart like that? I was ready to accept you as endgame before that despite thinking Evan was the right-er (more right) choice.

And Evan. I loved that we got to know him a lot better in this book. The blurb makes it pretty obvious that he remembered everything (so it's not a spoiler if I say it) which I was so happy about because it's something I wished happened in the first book despite my obvious affection for Robert. They just have this connection on a higher level and they are so right for each other.
And they were. Their chemistry is just as amazing as it was in the first book. I loved their relationship, and the way he was so... patiently determined when it came to Jenna.

"There's no triangle... Just two dots and a line."

In the end, I think she made the right choice and it all worked out for the best. Just like in the first book, I would have been happy either way (which really is a first for me), but I would have been happier with one more than the other.

As before, I liked the way it was written, Devon Ashley delivers a few funny moments, as well as a tear-jerker scene because how can you not cry during that scene? Don't get me wrong, this is a pretty light read, but it had its heavier moments, too.
It was great seeing where Sophie and Jhett are and I was so happy for the two of them.

Mildly graphic sex scenes, yep. It was more sex talk again, so if you're uncomfortable with that, there you have it.

Overall, a great sequel. I wasn't left unsatisfied in the end and I grudgingly admit that it was worth the wait. If you liked the first book, you'll definitely like this one. You get to see Jenna with the other guy, but the options are still kept open until the end. I loved it and recommend the series.(less)

I am CRYING as I write this. I don't know what it was about this book that just...tore my heart APART. I am vehemently AGAINST love triangles. I HATE them with a fiery passion and absolutely despise everything about them...except for this one. In this book however, you REALLY get to see Evan and Jenna together and it makes your heart SOAR with each word they speak to each other. Yes, Robert is still there, and yes she has to choose between the two of them, but when she chooses?? When Jenna makes her decision?? I CRIED I was so happy. Earlier, I cried because I was so upset over what had happened. This book TEARS YOUR EMOTIONS APART. Half the time I didn't know WHAT to feel because I was so torn between being angry and happy and sad and frustrated. I love Jenna's story, her love story, her life story, everything. For some reason I just felt a connection to her. I felt a connection to her even more in this book than the first one, for no explainable reason that I can think of, but that made it even better for me. I LOVED this book. This is the first YA book I have been head over heels over heart for in a long while, and Devon Ashley just does the most amazing job of making you love every part of it, even when you are screaming to her characters to not be an idiot. I could NOT put this book down and I am so extremely happy that I got to see the real end to Jenna's story. It feels finished now, unlike the first one. This time it feels like everything is different, that everything is right, and I am so happy it ended the way it did. I LOVED this book and the first one as well. Jenna grew so much from the first to the second book, she was definitely more of an adult and just even better than before. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it. That is all I can really say.(less)

This was a great continuation of Falling in Between. Some of Jenna's actions in the beginning made me cringe b/c I KNEW she was going to get busted. Even though she technically didn't do anything wrong, her heart wasn't in the right place. Falling away was much better than the first book, mostly because it had more Evan, who, to be honest, felt almost like a whole new character to me. Whichever it was i found myself firmly on Evan's side from the very start this time. Not that i wasn't in book one, but in this one Evan actually came alive for me more, the chemistry between Evan and Jenna lept off the page and smacked me in the face, in a good way. If there is a good way to be smacked in the face. Evan and Jenna were always going to be endgame, it was obvious, how could the boy you fell in love with in your dreams NOT be the bloke you end up with. Experience over time; Robert and Jenna may have been together for over two years but Evan and Jenna had that THING, you know that thing that makes couples work no matter what.

I knew Jenna would pick Evan from the moment she described her relationship with Robert as 'comfortable'...yeah, in pretty much any romantic book the word comfortable when describing a relationship means inevitable break up always.

Jenna asks Evan why they work so well, apart from the opposites attract theory (which is actually incredibly true), and he says about their souls wanting to be together, which is a bit romantic wubbish like, but i let it slide because I loved Evan so much.

There was a lot of sex in this book, even more than book one, but i wouldn't say any of it was too graphic. It's no fifty shades of falling...oh yeah, i went there with a fifty shades joke. AND...moving on, Evan was sexy and amazing, he loves Jenna so much that i was actually jealous of Jenna for having him. I was fucking jealous of a fictional character, not for the first time but still. Also because Evan sounds like he is brilliant sex-wise, and amazing sex always wins in books like these ;)

Jenna was better in this book too, a lot more mature i think. It was all a bit fast like the first book, but nothing that made my head spin too much. And yes i will now admit that the fucking cover of this book is amazing, i hugged this frigging book when it came in the mail.

I kind of felt bad for Robert in this book, but he was AWOL for most of it, so he really had no chance (irony not lost on me)with that sentence. I almost screamed at this book though when Evan, rightly so, said he didn't want to be second best and broke it off with Jenna, and she LET HIM LEAVE. I wanted to hit her. But she went after him in the end and they had amazing sex so...it all ended rather well, althouhg i wish we could have read about them in a few years time, when they are married or moving in together, or whatever, it would have been brilliant to read. But all in all i loved it. xxx (less)

Writing a review for a sequel is always so difficult. There is only so much that can be said without giving away the most important parts of the book. So, I am going to do my best to express how I felt while reading without spoiling anything for you.

When I started this book I was unaware that it was, the second book in a duo, so some of the beginning of the story was catch up for me. However I was able to glean the info I needed to make this book a complete story for me. This was not only well written but the characters were alive and enmeshed in a complex and fascinating story of love, loss and life. Well worth the read but I suggest reading the first book to save time on pondering the mysteries of this book.

I swear this author could sell fire in hell!

Usually when you read a book with a "love triangle" the author will lead you in one direction... holy crap I was all over the place.

This was my brain while reading the two books in this series... "Yes, be with Robert"..."Oh, Chance is so great." ... "But then there is Robert"..."Wow,Evan you amazing man"..."Ugh, Robert is such an asshole"..."Evan, you dick"..."Robert could be good for you"..."Holy shit, Evan" and so on and so forth.

this definitely had its flaws and normally i would rate it as 3 stars, there were times when i was annoyed or rolled my eyes at the writing but this one was much better than the first. i absolutely love evan and throughout the ending there were so much tears and i was on an emotional high when it finished. for this i have bumped it up to 4.

Although I am happy who she ended up with, I am still sad about the other one cause he was great too!

Jenna grew up so much from the first book that she almost seemed like a different person. I loved her and her spunky attitude.

Falling Away was better than the first book...which I happened to love a lot! I am kinda hoping another book comes out!

Need more of Jenna and gang.

After a rather unimpressed reaction to Falling in Between, I'm glad to see Devon Ashley deliver the awesomeness I've come to expect of her after Ordained.

I was super glad for this novel. I waited for it, for a long time and was ecstatic when I finally got it. Bottom line, I loved it. I was glad for all the emotions Robert, Jenna and Evan went through. I nearly cried when all the break ups started happening. I giggled at the funny parts and absolutely adored who Jenna ended up with. I was entranced by this novel as soon as it started. It was unbelievably easy to fall in love with it.
