Her nightmare is back. Evil. It’s alive, and it’s back for her.

I don't like horror but read Concilium because I'm in some groups with the author and knew she was a good writer. I said I wouldn't read the second one but the author kindly sent me a copy and so I did.

Fortunately, it wasn't nearly as much horror as the first. In fact, it mostly dealt with Miller and Leslee's romance. Yes, there was gore and yes the awful Imbibo were back but this was mostly a wrapping up of the relationship. And incidentally the Imbibo.

Ms. Pickett's a nice writer but I'm glad I...more

In my review for the first book, my chief complaint was that Pickett didn't let the reader figure things out. If it was important, she told us it was which sometimes made for redundant reading. Wonderfully I can report that's not the case this time around. But hey guess what is back? Pickett's ability to completely terrify me with the Imbibo. Look I really don't care if they're fictitious these things have me curling up underneath my covers and clutching my tablet close every time I hear a sound...more

The first book was absolutely fantastic and the second book was just a great way to wrap it all up. I didn't know that Concilium was only going to be two books, so I was a little shocked at the ending. All in all the book ended as it should have and I enjoyed it!

I'm a wife, mother, author, reader, although not always in that order. I've been an avid reader since a young child. I began writing for personal enjoyment in college, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in accounting. Why I chose a degree that didn't encourage creativity is a mystery to me.

I'm addicted to Reese's peanut butter cups and eat way too many while I write. I have a weird ob...more
