Adria, wolf changeling and resilient soldier, has made a break with the past--one as unpredictable in love as it was in war. Now comes a new territory, and a devastating new complication: Riaz, a SnowDancer lieutenant already sworn to a desperate woman who belongs to another.

For Riaz, the primal attraction he feels for Adria is a staggering betrayal. For Adria, his dangero...more

How can I read a teaser like that at the ending, and remain mentally sane until the new book comes out?? Photobucket Photobucket

Photobucket My mind is just frozen right now, but I'll try to sum up my feelings about this book:

The story:
Riaz and Adria are two dominants in the wolf pack that can't stand each other. Riaz eventually gets tired of Adria's hostility and confronts her, but it turns out he didn't actually want to know the real reason behind it - she is terribly attracted to him and vice versa. Riaz, having found his...more

April 2013: Finally finished my Psy-Changeling re-read. And I still have, like, fifty days to go until Heart of Obsidian. And it's been one year and thirty-one days since I read Tangle of Need for the first time. Totally suffering from withdrawal pains. *sigh*

If I say too much, an angry mob will cross the bridges and stone me to death. Since there are entirely too many books left in my TBR to risk that, I only have the following cryptic comments for you.

Not a favorite, but a spectacular read non the less. As always NS keeps blowing my mind with this amazing series.
I just know I WILL NEVER GET ENOUGH of this intriguing Psy and passionate Changelings because... What's not to love about them? NS has created a very complex and original world from scratch and introduced us to some very intricate characters we just can't seem to help falling hopelessly in love with. But more than that, I will always emphasize Singh's brilliant writing style. Nobody...more

When I finished reading Nalini Singh’s Tangle of Need, the eleventh book in her Psy-Changeling series, my jaw dropped and I did a little Snoopy Dance in my seat. The reason is the last three pages. But since revealing what occurs in those pages are big BIG spoilers, and allude to possibility of who the hero of the next book will be (I get down on my knees and pray it’s who I think it is because, I AM THIS CHARACTER’S BIGGEST FAN. Ahem).

I’ve said it time and again, when it comes to Nalini’s Psy-C...more

I love Nalini Singh & the Psy-Changeling world but this is the book I haven't been excited about much, maybe because Riaz and Adria were never characters I connected with much. Adria is dominant and was in a relationship with a submissive for years and it went sour and she had to finally admit defeat and has returned to the den, scarred.

Riaz too has returned scarred, he found his mate in Europe, happily married and in love with another man. He finds himself growing angry and bitter and Adria...more

I want to read this book, I want to buy it. But dangit to the heaven and hell, why it must HARDCOVER???
Am I supposed to wait to December if I want the paperback version, and see so many raving reviews about this book? I can' live with that *cries*

The psy war has begun! And SnowDancer has found itself a target.

Pure Psy hasn't disintegrated after their failure on SnowDancer lands. The Human Alliance remains a target. The Psycouncil is split and although Nikita and Anthony are uneasy allies, Ming is desperate to get hold of the X-psy who is now the heart of the SnowDancer pack. Henry has disappeared after the attack but his influence remains as PurePsy become ever more dangerous. Whereas Shoshanna has retreated, Tatiana is playing her own g...more

LOVED IT! There were so many amazing things that happened:

- We got to spend lots of time with Hawke and Sienna, to the point where they almost stole the show from Riaz and Adria
- Lots of page time was spent with the wolves: Riley & Mercy had wonderful moments (an an announcement that had me happy dancing), Drew & Indigo were great and Judd... Oh Judd.
- The book had a lot of action within the psy movement. I can't wait to see where the series goes next, especially if we spend more time i...more

Yes, here there be SPOILERS.

I love Nalini. To the extent that I've, literally, read everything she has in print. Upfront I want to write that I loved "Tangle of Need", also, just not so much for the love story of Riaz and Adria. I won't describe it, readers can pick up the bits and pieces from the cover and the goodreads blurb. Suffice it to say that regardless of my empathy for the characters I didn't get the teaching point.

Every other major pair set in this world - even Judd/Brenna, Sienna/H...more

For a book that doesn’t have a huge battle or showdown at the end, there is a lot that gets packed into this latest Psy/Changeling story, TANGLE OF NEED. After the huge fight that ended KISS OF SNOW, it was a nice change of pace to have this book focus a lot on relationships and the new buildup for what’s coming up in the future – Pure Psy bringing down portions of the Net in order to control it and the Psy.

Starting the story, I didn’t...more

Tangle of Need is exactly what it needs to be for a series that is on it's 11th book.

Tangle of Need is so much more than the romance between Adria and Riaz, two strong but emotionally broken Changelings, even that romance and how they had to deal with the fact that Adria was not Riaz's actually mate worked for me. That 'more' includes a significant hunk of the book going to Sienna and Hawke, giving us a look into their mated life and showing them solidified as a pair - and showing Sienna workin...more

This is book 11 of this series and I'm still so hooked that the same day I got it I started reading it and finished it the next day. In each of the books, the romantic story runs along other psy and changeling events that are so engrossing I never want whichever sub-plot I'm reading to finish. This one has the love story I've liked the least so far, and it didn't even bother me, the rest of the stuff was sooo good. Truly original worldbuilding, excellent writing, follow up on past adorable love...more

Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series continues to be, hands down, my favorite paranormal series! It is the only series where I ENJOY the interludes into the other side. I don’t skim or dread reading about the Psy, in fact I pay very close attention to Kaleb the Psy. With that being said, unfortunately that is what helped this book receive solid 4 stars from me.

If I were just rating the main couples romance I would have given 3 stars. Riaz and Adria just didn’t have the chemistry that I usually...more

Riaz and Adria’s relationship burns steady and hot in this tension filled installment in the Psy/Changeling series. This is definitely a time when I’d recommend reading the previous books in this series prior to this one. Rest assured that each book is well worth the read, and you have a wonderful journey in front of you. Read no further if you don’t want spoilers for the previous books.

We first met Riaz and Adria in Play of Passion. Riaz had come back from Italy after having found his...more

'Tangle of Need' is an awesome addition to Nalini Singh's 'Psy-Changeling' series.

Going into ToN, I wasn't sure I was going to like it as much as previous P-C installments. Its highly anticipated predecessor, 'Kiss of Snow' was "epic-ly" brilliant and offered the double whammy of not only finally providing Hawke and Sienna's story, but also had the bonus romance between Walker and Lara - this, I thought, was going to be a tough act to follow! How could ToN, a story supposedly concerning two extr...more

Helyce’s Favorite Quotes: “You have me,” she whispered. All of me.

“I love you to distraction, Empress.”

Tori’s Favorite Quote: ”Seduced…she was being seduced.”

Tori: OMG Helyce, so can you believe that we are on number eleven of Ms. Singh’s spectacular, romantic, humorous, super smoking sexy, awe inspiring, addictive Psy-Changeling series? I can’t. Even though I reread the series about once a year, (or mo...more

Just finished it and I loved it. It was one of my favorite releases so far this year (4.5-5 stars). Although I didn't like Riaz and Adria at the start of the story, by the end I had really connected with their characters and empathized with what they went through. But that being said, this book was so much MORE than just a typical romance. The complex plot with so many story threads felt more like what you'd find in some of the better fantasy series--really well done. She gives the reader myster...more

That is one awful cover. I loathe it.

A good installation to the Psy-Changeling series though it didn't live up to Kiss of Snow. There are a lot of sub-plots running around in this book. While Adria and Riaz are the primary couple, we get to see Sienna & Hawke relationship and Mercy & Riley's relationship. Also subplots involving Kaleb, The Arrows, Ming, Alice and the Psy in general. While it was nice to visit the other couples, all the sub-plots running pulled the pace of the story. It l...more

I really loved it. Will write a little about it later, though I don't think I'll ever write a full review.

Here are my first impressions in a picture that I drew.. It's magnificent, I know:

Hope that Kaleb get's the next novel.. I know that this'd mean that the Ghost was someone else, but if the Ghost is Vasic, then I'm happy as well. ;D

BEFORE I READ IT:

I suppose Kaleb will get the 20th novel? :'D

Oh my, I'm not sure what to think of Riaz and Adria.. But I've heard...more

Let me summarize the fist 60% of the book:
They have sex, and they have sex and they have sex and they have sex and ... with "they" going through the various mated pairs and so on. I really don't care. While action might be a pretext for various one-on-one in those books, the porn channel is also open 24/7. There were various aspects that were barely touched:
1. Ghost
2. Kaleb
3. Henry
4. THE GREAT EPIC BATTLE THAT FAITH SAID WAS COMING FOR SURE AND IT WASN'T THE ONE IN BOOK 10

Verdict:Dissapointed

Tangle of Need puts everything I thought I knew about the Psy-changeling world and every theory I've predicted thus far in a bowl and mixes them all up.

Adria and Riaz have an instant attraction. Adria is broken following the end of her long term relationship with less dominant Martin. Lone wolf, Riaz met his mate, Lisette in Venice, she's a women he can never have as she's already happily married; he sees his attraction to Adria as a betrayal of his changeling nature.

The road for them is rocky e...more

Although I wasn't thrilled about reading another story of a woman who tries everything to be bitchy - yes, Adria is difficult - I really wanted to know how the great story underneath it all develops. And I am pleased.
Not only is the greater story really heating up at this point, but I have a new favourite character. I already liked him so so SO MUCH in the last book, but in this story, he appears rather often and made me very happy every time I read his name: Aden.

The story of Riaz and Adria is...more

First off, I'm a huge admirer of Singh's writing, and the Psy-Changeling books are my favorites over the Guild Hunter series. Tangle of Need was supposed to be Riaz and Adria's story, but there were many other threads woven in, as well. There were several romantic/sex scenes between Hawke and Sienna, which gave dark hints of a danger to Sienna from Ming (the merciless) but when it finally manifested, it was over in a paragraph, leaving more future hints of worse to come. Everyone else had their...more

Re-read started 5/12/12 and it was just as good the second time around :)

This book is one mess of Tangles. An emotional rollercoaster all the way through.

It isn't simply a case of boy wolf, Riaz, meets girl wolf Adria, and there's happiness all around. Nooooo, Riaz has already met his destined mate, a human, who is happily married to another human. So he is an emotional mess and comes home to the pack to try and deal with it.

Adria, on the other hand has also just come back to the pack to try and...more

I have to admit, I got a kick out of reading the reviews of this book from my GR friends and people I follow. They are all over the map! Usually there is more consistency. What that says to me is that this series has gone on too long. Some, like me, are hanging in for the big picture UF story. Some are in it for the individual romance stories. Tangle of Need had a decent mix of romance and plot progression and I really enjoyed seeing more of Hawke, Sienna, Mercy, Riley, and oth...more

Tangle of Need is the 11th book in Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling series. When I started this book, I felt it would be a letdown after reading Kiss of Snow. I adored Hawke and Sienna. But I have to say, Nalini does it again. It is amazing how she continues flawlessly the storyline, and brings in a new romantic couple.

Tangle of Need belongs to Riaz and Adria, both wolves from Snow Dancer. Yes, we stay with the wolves in this book. We do get to see some of the Dark River leopards, but this book is...more

I've been writing as long as I can remember and all of my stories always held a thread of romance (even when I was writing about a prince who could shoot lasers out of his eyes). I love creating unique characters, love giving them happy endings and I even love the voices in my head. There's no other job I would rather be doing. In September 2002, when I got the call that Silhouette Desire wanted t...more
