Silver Knight is pact-full of romance, history, myths, demons and a strong heroine. What more could anyone ask for in a book?

First of all, the characters' emotions in this book make the reader feel like they are really there going on the journey with the person. My Thoughts-This is one of those self-published books that found its way into my hands, and that I liked. Yippee! It is always a relief to like a book that has been sent to me for review.

The unraveling of Diana's past lives takes up the beginning portion of the book, which works out well to pull the reader into the story. By the time she knows the truth, she is knee deep in the mystery of the Vatican. Her character is fun, and getting to see her past lives is enjoyable.

Now, onto demon lover Alexander. I could not stand this character. The author does a great job making him a deplorable creature who throws Diana's love back into her face and tortures her time and time again, all for a stupid mishap in the past. The author did such a good job with this character, that when the time comes to believe he's changed, it made me mad. I didn't think he deserved a second chance, but the author uses him as the repented love interest who saves Diana. UGH! If I were Diana he would not have gotten off so easy.

The other supporting characters are interesting. They are other demon hunters who have also been reborn throughout time. As you get further into the book, the author reveals who they were in their first incarnation. This is a fun aspect, however, the flashbacks are a little long winded.

Overall, a really interesting paranormal read.

For those that don’t really like history, this book is a great way to get interested in it. And best of all: many different time periods of history are touched on because of the use of reincarnation. Of course, after reading this, you’ll probably hate history class all the more so. Caron Rider makes history fun and exciting.

On the surface, Silver Knight seems like an epic book involving demons, warriors, and reincarnation, full of action! Don't get me wrong - at some points of the story, there was a lot of action and warrior fights, so this story does have its share of action, just not in the way I expected.

This was a nice read.

The story keeps jumping back and forth in time between the different lives Diana has had. I really liked the short views in all these different lives as you're taken on a ride through history and get glimpses of many different time periods.

But when she arrives in Rome, she meets Alexander – the man of her dreams! Through the centuries she has loved him… betrayed him… been killed by him. Will she give him another chance or this time will she strike first?
The story of this book begins in a perfectly ordinary way. Diana, the protagonist of the story, has been elected as the book club president, which consists of very few students including her best friends, Sam and Maggie. She seems to be perfectly normal, just with one problem – she suffers from nightmares and they are always about her dying.
She doesn’t understand what these dreams mean till she sees a video on Youtube about a priest and she realises that she recognises him from one of her dreams and decides to contact him… and she is surprised when the priest, i.e. Bishop Paul Soratino, tells her that there is an infestation of demons in the Catacombs of Rome.
After talking to the bishop, Diana starts to understand the meaning of the dreams she has been having since childhood. She understands that she’s the warrior of the Light who has been destined to defeat the Dark, the demons of the Dark who live on other people’s soul, who come in all types of shapes and sizes and who can only be defeated using weapons made out of silver. Diana has died many a time in history while killing a demon or is killed by her nemesis, Alexander. Alexander is the one whom she loved, and in many lives had even been married to him. But he is a demon and he believes that Diana betrayed him and hence he, instead of sucking her soul and freeing her, keeps killing her, sometimes so brutally that she keeps getting reincarnated.
Diana decides to go to Rome to deal with the demons there and she’s accompanied by fellow warriors, Jarret, Helen, David, Solomon and also Sam and Maggie. But soon, in Rome, She meets Alex Black, who’s no one else but Alexander. However, this time, she is in for a surprise. Alex doesn’t wish to kill her now because of something that happened in one of Diana’s previous life on the Titanic. Unfortunately, Diana can’t remember the details, except the fact she died on the Titanic. What must have happened to change Alex’s heart?
Personally, this was that type of story which I’ve never read before. I’ve read about magicians, witchcraft, monsters, vampires, and everything else – but never in such a combination. Throw in reincarnation and you have the equivalent of a delicious dessert in your hands. All the warriors I mentioned above have been related to the history we know (though vaguely), like, Alexander was once Alexander the Great, Helen was Helen of Troy, and so on!
But though that was good, what I didn’t like was the jumping of the story from present to past in a single chapter, which often broke my rhythm and would confuse the average reader. As another reader on Amazon pointed out, each chapter has AT LEAST three dreams/flashbacks. Had different chapters been used for different periods of time, it would have been easier to keep track. Despite that, I can’t wait for the sequel! Write faster, Miss Rider!

Diana is a 17 year old girl who is excited about becoming a senior in high school until she sees a YouTube video of priest that she somehow recognizes. She even knows him by name and understands that the video is asking for the Warriors of Light to come to Rome, of which she is one of those warriors. Up until this point, she has been plagued by dreams of demons and her multiple deaths over thousands of years. These deaths are the result of fighting demons and the vengeance on one demon in particular, Alex. Alex has been alive through all of Diana's lifetimes and they keep encountering one another over and over. Diana doesn't know it at first, but she will soon be meeting with Alex yet again and her dreams might possibly become reality.

I will be honest, the main story is very good. It is hard to follow lot of the time though because all of the Warriors of Light involved in the plot have either dreams or flashbacks to previous lives. All Warriors of Light are reincarnated over and over in order to keep removing the demons from the world in the battle between Light and Dark. Each chapter has AT LEAST three dreams/flashbacks. Each one is more often than not from a different time period. I have read books that have had flashbacks in them that would basically bounce between a single flashback and current time over and over, but this story changes the timeline multiple times within the same chapter. It can be really frustrating at times because I personally just wanted to know what was going on right this moment for at least longer periods of time. I am not saying that it is a bad book, so please don't think that. Everything in it gives you insight into why the Warriors of Light are the way they are. It's why they have come together in the book. Their lives are all intertwined through out history. You really do need the information. I just think that it could have been organized a little better. I would have been happy with chronological instead of Pulp Fiction style. I really enjoyed reading all of the history and how Caron Rider interpreted it in order to fit into her world.

The book ended with such a cliffhanger that I will want to read the next book. I want to know what will happen between Alex and Diana now that they have found each other again. I want to know why the Warriors of Light were called to Rome into what appeared to have been a trap. If you like mythology and history, you should check this story out. It is a very interesting read.

Review: I have to say the intensity of this novel blew me away. I really liked the exploration of all of Diana’s past lives and her realization that she isn’t dreaming. The past life concept reminded me of Kristen Millers The Eternal Ones and if you crossed that with Buffy you would get something exactly like Silver Knight. Caron Rider is an exciting new voice to hit the YA scene and I can’t wait to see where The Silver Knight series takes me!

Diana is instantly a relatable character. She is head of her schools book club and basically your average teenager just trying to make it through high school. Her maturity makes the novel read like an older YA, which is fine because a lot of teens are looking for a mature character they can relate too. I know I constantly am. The whole past life/romance/predator and prey/ light vs evil relationship between Alexander and Diana was pretty freaking intense and the past life scenes had me teary at times. I can’t believe I am falling for the guy who murdered the MC in her past lives. I just don’t even know which is why I need the next book!!

I only had a couple minor issues with the novel. I wish it was all one POV. I really liked Diana’s voice and while many other characters were explored it got a tad confusing. Which brings me to the past lives flashbacks. I loved them, but at times they were a bit confusing and I had to go back and re read to make sure I had it all straight. I loved them though, I just want them more explored and expanded, but I am pretty sure that will happen in the rest of the series. The love story has the potential to be one for the history books. I truly appreciated all of the unique characteristics this novel included and how it just didn’t blend into the YA scene; it stands on its own and begs to be read. If you’re looking for an intriguing new read go on and pick up Silver Knight!!!

Silver Knight is a fast-paced and amazing romp through a set of past lives. It's the type of book that draws you in, and even though a few different genres are mixed it works well! Caron Rider has managed to mix together modern high school life, with a girl who has shades of her past lives peppered in. What you'll find in this book is nothing short of fantastic! Silver Knight is an interesting, creative, and OMG read that I’ve sat here staring at the cursor over because I’m just not sure how to review it without giving away all the best parts. LOL, issues, right.

Caron Rider has given us a unique story about a young woman who been reincarnated. Silver Knight is well written, the plot and character description are excellent. It’s not often you read about demon slayers, and being reincarnated over and over. But what made Diana special was that she is able to dream about her past lives. That may not be the best thing. She only dreams about her deaths. Never about the good things, just her deaths and how Alexander has killed her over and over again.

Silver night by Caron Rider, has many great moments. It has an interest mix of history and fiction weaved throughout the story.

When I first read the little blurb I was one part worried and three parts in intrigued. I had so many questions and so I immediately agreed to review her book. I had to limit myself to 5 chapters a day though, just so I could make sure I got other things done around the house.

The thing I love the most about this book was it’s perfect mix of mythology, history and unique storyline, I really enjoyed all the sections that delved into the characters’ past lives. Caron even gives the side characters some air time for their past lives and I can some of them were pretty brilliant. Diana’s were both really interesting and also kind of heartbreaking, thanks to Alexander. I can’t say I’m sure how I feel about Alexander, I know I like him but his past really makes me question if it’s wise to be anywhere near him. Their relationship is fairly complex and I enjoyed it, even if I couldn’t quite pin down exactly what Diana should do. I like when books make me think about all the outcomes that could happen, especially since it happens so rarely now in fiction. The actual storyline is fairly interesting as well, which not includes reincarnation but also demons. Which that just adds to the uniqueness of the story and makes the experience even more enjoyable. The demons themselves are really cool as well, and instead of just being the stereotypical demons they actually have various forms. I really want to know why Rome has a demon infestation though, it’s kind of killing me not to know. I also can’t wait to know more about the Bishop.

Alot of this books takes on the task of world and character building so that you can clearly get a feel for what’s going on and who is involved. There were a few awkward feeling conversations here and there but it wasn’t anything that really bothered me, and it certainly didn’t stop me from devouring this book.

Given all of the thought that went into all of the past lives and the set up for this story, I can’t wait to be able to read the second one. I can tell that it’s going to be great. This is one of those unique hidden gems that you only find once in a blue moon.(less)

Diana, has lived with nightmares of herself being killed over and over in horrible ways. She never understood why she had these dreams until she recognizes a priest on YouTube that she has seen in one of her dreams. Now she is convinced that she has lived out a life more than once and that killing demons is her job. Compelled to go to New York before heading to Rome, her and her two friends meet up with a few other warriors. Each of these warriors have had some very historical backgrounds.

Alex is a demon from Diana's past, we learn from her dreams that he kills Diana over and over in some horrible ways. He is absolutely ruthless, but he is also in love with Diana. Talk about some big romantic problems. When Diana meets Alex this time he swears he doesn't want to kill her anymore, but she just is not sure he can be trusted.

Even though Diana and Alex are the main characters the other warriors have a lot to do with what is happening, and the author gives them each a chapter so we can get to know them a little bit, there is Helen, David, Sol, and Jarret. Each I am sure we will learn more about as the series grows.

This first book I can tell is the builder for what is to come and because of this at times it feels like I didn't get to know Diana and Alex like I would have liked. Alex, doesn't come into the picture till later in the book, but from the little bit of a cliffhanger ending I know he will be a big piece of the next book.

There was a few things that I didn't really like, and I can't really say what it is without giving away some fun historical tidbits, but I will say it has to do with biblical references. I don't like my bible stories messed with much, but other than that and a few times I got confused with the shifting from present to past life, I enjoyed this book.

I can't wait to read Silver Demon and find out what will happen with Diana and her friends! I would recommend this book to anyone who likes your history mixed with a bit of fantasy.

Gosh, actually this book gets 1 and a half star from me.
But, I chose to go on Goodreads with 1, because most of the time I just plainly hated it.

There were many things I didn't like.
The lack of plot is the main thing that got on my nerves.
Nothing happened on this book! And, when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING!
When something was actually going to happen, BOOM, an explosion occured and that was all.
Seriously. Nothing else.

I should probably mention I have an exam in the morning, and only started this book as to read two chapters in my break. But, I couldn't stop. I really couldn't. I tried, I did all I can, but even when I closed the e-reader, all I could think of was what was going to happen, next. My Thoughts: Silver Knight was fast paced and captivating.

Caron Rider's book was great. It was relatively well written and had a really great story line. Diana was a very loveable protagonist. She was strong willed and confident and a great role model. There were so many paranormal creatures in this book and so much going on. It all happens very quickly and save for the occasional akward sentences, it was a great read. There were so many paranormal creatures in this book and so much going on. It all happens very quickly and save for the occasional akward sentences, it was a great read. The historical aspects were all really neat as well, and they made this book even more so enjoyable to me, being a bit of a history buff.

I love books about reincarnation, but this one was unlike any I've ever read. The author most definitely succeeded in making it unique, in both good ways and bad. Though I understand the need for the flash backs, they were disorientating and pulled me out of my rhythm plenty of times. There were a lot of times where I was unsure of which time period Diana or whichever other character it was, was in. Perhaps if there had been a different formatting with these flash backs, in that they were each their own chapters, they would have been much easier to interpret and enjoy. There was also the fact that the author sometimes randomly threw in a chapter that was from the first person perspective of a different character. Yes, it says at the beginning of the chapter if it isn't Diana, but that was really confusing at some points.

But other than some formatting and jumping around, I really did enjoy this book quite a book. It just wasn't the simplest read in the world. I loved the fact that some of the warriors had actually been in their 'past lives' great historical figures we all know, like per say, Helen of Troy. I loved the fact that Ms. Rider took so much history and put it into this book. There was plenty to learn from this book, that's for sure. The story left on such an incredible cliff hanger that I'm definitely looking forward to the next book. This was a book that kept me thinking and I enjoyed it for sure. It's a book full of mixed genres and it works well. If you're into books filled with action, this book would be a great choice for you.

At first, I thought this book was going to be obviously written by an adult trying to be a teenager; the opening scenes that take place at the high school have dialogue that sounds very superficial - like an adult trying to talk like a teen. First, I must say that I liked the overall plot. It seemed intriguing at first—'a girl realizing that the priest in a certain YouTube video is actually a man she met in a former life—and it kept on being so. What could have been easily solved, and apparently is, also raises more questions and issues. Is the problem addressed in the video solved at the end of the book? Not so much, and it clearly points at a sequel and at a more complex story. I'm sure I'm not the only one who found some elements pretty fishy.

The characters I found appealing. Diana, among others, struck me as a strong enough persona, thanks to her decisions and actions in the present timeline, as well as to what was shown of her in her past lives, that nicely echo elements from the main plotline. Besides, I've always had a sweet spot for different readings of historical events (same with historical characters), and the stories the author conveyed here were interesting: the retelling of Helen's fate, Alexander's real identity (I didn't need much to guess it, but it was still nice to read about), what happened in Pompeii... Although some might say those were contrived, I nevertheless thought them told originally enough.

However, those past lives and events were also what left me confused: I'd say there were just a little too many of them, all the more so that they were interspersed with other characters' points of view. While those were interesting, they contributed to making the main plot difficult to follow at times, as well as having it appear a little weak (in that if you remove the parts about the past lives, there isn't that much left, come to think of it). I understand that the 'past lives aspect' is an important part of the novel's pitch, and that it's important to have it in; it just seems to me that it was too much to chew on all at once, and that some of it might have been better kept off until the second installment.

That said, it was a good story, and I will probably read the sequel.(less)
