A convincing fast-paced breathless voice characterizes the first narrator of Caron Rider’s paranormal, modern, historical, genre-bending young adult novel, Silver Knight. And all those genres really work! There are hints of deep dark mystery in the prologue, haunting nightmares and daytime high school book clubs. Computer dating and viral videos maintain just the right level of believability. Then Diana recognizes the you-tube priest from her dreams, and the reader’s taken into first-person visi...more

Silver Knight is pact-full of romance, history, myths, demons and a strong heroine. What more could anyone ask for in a book?

First of all, the characters' emotions in this book make the reader feel like they are really there going on the journey with the person. When Diana is having visions of her past lives, her fear, anticipation and sometimes even joy are just palpable. I felt myself smiling and frowning and even on the verge of tears. Then there's Alex who is emotionally torn. He doesn't kn...more

MARK'S REVIEW

For those that don’t really like history, this book is a great way to get interested in it. And best of all: many different time periods of history are touched on because of the use of reincarnation. Of course, after reading this, you’ll probably hate history class all the more so. Caron Rider makes history fun and exciting.

It took a little bit to get use to the time shifts, but once you understand what to look for, it’s not that big of a deal. Because the author wants to use this...more

On the surface, Silver Knight seems like an epic book involving demons, warriors, and reincarnation, full of action! Don't get me wrong - at some points of the story, there was a lot of action and warrior fights, so this story does have its share of action, just not in the way I expected.

My main problem with the story was the format in which it was written. Usually in a chapter, there would be a short...more

This was a nice read.

The story keeps jumping back and forth in time between the different lives Diana has had. I really liked the short views in all these different lives as you're taken on a ride through history and get glimpses of many different time periods.

Diana and her friends were fun characters, although I did think that Diana could have been a bit more mature taken into account she has lived many lives already. Along the way Diana picks up more allies and these were all very intriguing a...more

This story has some really interesting takes on historical myth and fact. Diana is a 17 year old girl who is excited about becoming a senior in high school until she sees a YouTube video of priest that she somehow recognizes. She even knows him by name and understands that the video is asking for the Warriors of Light to come to Rome, of which she is one of those warriors. Up until this point, she has been plagued by dreams of demons and her multiple deaths over thousands of years. These deaths...more

Silver Knight is a fast-paced and amazing romp through a set of past lives. It's the type of book that draws you in, and even though a few different genres are mixed it works well! Caron Rider has managed to mix together modern high school life, with a girl who has shades of her past lives peppered in. What you'll find in this book is nothing short of fantastic! I honestly read through each page breathlessly to the end.

Our first-person narrator Diana is quite a girl. She is very much an old soul...more

Silver Knight is an interesting, creative, and OMG read that I’ve sat here staring at the cursor over because I’m just not sure how to review it without giving away all the best parts. LOL, issues, right.

I will say the romance has some serious issues, like the fact that the demon, Alex, keeps killing our heroine, Diana, throughout time, yet loves her. Remind me not to go shopping for lovers with him around. Murder is just not my idea of an ‘I love you’. I like how my focus Caron gives to the ot...more

Silver Knight by Caron Rider

Caron Rider has given us a unique story about a young woman who been reincarnated. Silver Knight is well written, the plot and character description are excellent. This story is fast paced, full of mystery, demons, warriors and of course reincarnation. All of this combined gives us one fascinating story. I really enjoyed Caron Rider writing and cannot wait to read book 2 in this series.

Silver Knight is a great story! Diana keeps having nightmares about being killed, later to find out because she really was killed; several times and keeps coming back. She is in high school and with her friends she sees a YouTube video of a priest asking for help from Light Warriors. She instantly recognizes him, and realizes her dreams were real, and needs to help him by fighting the demons.

Upon her travels to Rome, she has more dreams and the reader gets to visit her past lives in history and...more

It’s not often you read about demon slayers, and being reincarnated over and over. But what made Diana special was that she is able to dream about her past lives. That may not be the best thing. She only dreams about her deaths. Never about the good things, just her deaths and how Alexander has killed her over and over again.

At the beginning I was unsure if I was going to like this book but these types of books always surprise me. And once I started it I couldn’t stop, this boo...more

Silver night by Caron Rider, has many great moments. It has an interest mix of history and fiction weaved throughout the story.

Through her nightmares of demons, the main character Diana realizes that she is actually seeing her past lives and her job in this life and all the others is to fight and kill demons.

I liked Diana immediately. Her character was well developed and she was enjoyable to follow along in the story. With that said, the other characters were not as strong so when the POV chan...more

Caron Rider's, "Silver Knight," constitutes book one in the Silver Series. Diana, the lead character is an unfortunate soul, either gifted or cursed to hop scotch through time with the dubious job of hunting and killing demons wherever they are found. Inexorably drawn to important times in history, and generally being victimized by them, she is helped and sometimes hindered by the very entities that she hunts. The story bounces back and forth through historical events, telling them in such a way...more

When I first read the little blurb I was one part worried and three parts in intrigued. I don’t think I’ve ever read anything about incarnation but I know it’s something that requires a deft touch to pull off without leaving out something vital to making it all work. I read the chapter sampler Caron provided and I knew immediately that I was hooked. It starts off a little slow as you learn about Diana but by the end of the first chapter I was completely engrossed in learning more about Diana’s p...more

Thanks to the ARR program & the author for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

What a lovely book this was. A concept that differentiate from the rest. An intriguing plot & concept. It will blow your mind.
First, I must say the cover of the book is breathtaking. Second, the story line of being reincarnated is brilliant and I never read a book regarding to it.

I received this book through the We Love YA Books ARR for an honest review, thank you.

(view spoiler)[

Silent Knight is told in first person through the eyes of numerous characters in the book. One thing I noticed right away is that almost all the character voices sound the same and that Diana has the dreaded 'Adult in a Teenage Body' syndrome.

The book blurb sort of gives an idea of what the book is about, but not the gritty details of Diana’s relationship to Alexander, the man from her nightmares

Do you believe in reincarnation? I don't, but I admit it can make for an interesting story. Silver Knight was a fun present day story that took you back to the past several times for a lot of nice historic tidbits as we get a glimpse of each warrior of the lights past lives.

Diana, has lived with nightmares of herself being killed over and over in horrible ways. She never understood why she had these dreams until she recognizes a priest on YouTube that she has seen in one of her dreams. Now she...more

Gosh, actually this book gets 1 and a half star from me.
But, I chose to go on Goodreads with 1, because most of the time I just plainly hated it.

There were many things I didn't like.
The lack of plot is the main thing that got on my nerves.
Nothing happened on this book! And, when I say nothing, I mean NOTHING!
When something was actually going to happen, BOOM, an explosion occured and that was all.
Seriously. Nothing else.
This book was mostly about the past experiences of the warriors.

I was actual...more

I throughly enjoyed Silver Knight! I've been in a reading slump for a while now, and this book is helping pull me out of it, finally. It held my attention and was easy to read, and I flew through it in two days!

Silver Knight caught my attention because its hard to come across completely original plots in books anymore, and this book had one. After watching a YouTube video with her friends, Diana realizes that the nightmares about demons she's been having her entire life are actually mem...more

I should probably mention I have an exam in the morning, and only started this book as to read two chapters in my break. But, I couldn't stop. I really couldn't. I tried, I did all I can, but even when I closed the e-reader, all I could think of was what was going to happen, next. It didn't take me long before I realized it was much better to read it all, get it over with, then think of studying.

Let's start with what I always start with: The cover. I love it. I know I'm being rather repetitive h...more

My Thoughts: Silver Knight was fast paced and captivating.

Caron Rider's book was great. It was relatively well written and had a really great story line. Diana was a very loveable protagonist. She was strong willed and confident and a great role model. There were so many paranormal creatures in this book and so much going on. It all happens very quickly and save for the occasional akward sentences, it was a great read. The historical aspects were all really neat as well, and they made this book...more

At first, I thought this book was going to be obviously written by an adult trying to be a teenager; the opening scenes that take place at the high school have dialogue that sounds very superficial - like an adult trying to talk like a teen. BUT, as the book went on, that started to make sense - it becomes very clear that Diana is an old soul and that being a teenager is kind of weird for her. Once the story takes off, the sense of teenagerdom completely disappears. The storyline between Alex an...more

[I got the ebook version to review through a We ♥ YA Books ARR.]

Silver Knight is a book I enjoyed reading, but that left me confused at times.

First, I must say that I liked the overall plot. It seemed intriguing at first—'a girl realizing that the priest in a certain YouTube video is actually a man she met in a former life—and it kept on being so. What could have been easily solved, and apparently is, also raises more questions and issues. Is the problem addressed in the video solved at the end...more
